Who decides what RB is on the field for any given play?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm guessing what they are implying is it's already predetermined, when the Bills run plays 12, 25, and 49, this RB is on the field, but when it's 17, and 32, it's a different guy. So the RB coach here's the play call and then yells to whoever is the correct guy to get onto the field. Like if it's a pass to the RB, likely it would be Cook, at least that was the plan before he fumbled. -

I probably should have worded that differently and stated the team would like to use them differently as..... Likely this is Moss's last chance this year to prove he is that guy or he better have anew career in mind. Though one game didn't work so well. Don't know if it's been stated anywhere by the coaching staff but seemed like after the Cook early fumble Moss was playing plays meant/panned for Cook so probably wasn't the best match up either. -

OK I haven't read it much, only one article mentioned it that I saw. -

One thing I'm surprised haven't seen /read more about either in articles, TV or even posts here (one article mentioned it) Ramsey calling Allen trash in 2018. Have to wonder if that is still on Allen's mind and his goal is to just make Ramsey's like living hell every time he takes the field against him. Articles about Ramsey having a perfect QB rating against him is pretty rare. -
Read last night Diggs only played around half the snaps. Maybe that was due to temps or maybe they feel best to keep him fresh. Now put a guy like OBJ in his place or have 3 wide, Davis, Diggs and OBJ. How many teams have 3 boundry CB's to cover them? On occasion instead of either a TE or RB have OBJ as the4th WR. There's many options

So many times in the past 40 years I've seen the same thing happen and the guy goes out and plays lights out. Can recall in the Super Bowl run era, think it was Kelly, came back quicker than many thought he should and was great. The issue is your comparing professional athletes and normal people. It's different for them.

Shakir Should Not Be Inactive
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't know, Ask McD! My opinion is they are doing it because they feel for the first time they have 3 RB that offer uniquely different skill sets. Singletary best blocker and finding and running through the opening, Moss inside power back, Cook pass catching out of backfield and maybe running wide. Personally I've wanted them to use 3 RB even last year with Yeldon. Cook offers more upside though long term IMO. -
First impression: James Cook

It's not that you're saying anything negative that is getting all the hate. You're getting beat up mainly due to the first few words in your post "kind of smug and full of himself" What proof do you have of this? This isn't an opinion, this is just talking nonsense based on watching his facial expressions on TV! If you hadn't started out talking stupid, others may have had an intelligent conversation back and forth on the rest of the post. But you lost everyone in the first sentence. Thinking about this some more, you may be on to something as if anyone appears to know about being kind of smug and full of himself it probably is you based on your post. -
Shakir Should Not Be Inactive
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Get use to it! Unless either Moss, Singletary, or Cook play themselves into the doghouse and become inactive they are likely to go with only 5 WR every week this year. Last season was just Moss and Singletary so had an extra roster spot and went to WR. Kumerow is an experienced ST ace so he will be active. Could also come down to Shakir, Crowder, or McKenzie for the last WR slot. But wil ltake some doing for Shakir to beat out any of those 3 or Kumerow -

The Ripoff Report: Game Thoughts
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
Only 5 penalties for 35 years. Don't recall any holding calls on O line. Remember 1 procedure call on Brown, 1 d holding in secondary and one by D lineman. How does a D lineman hold on a running play anyway?? As far as Elam goes, lets see what happens next couple of weeks. Kupp is a slot receiver not a traditional outside guy that a boundary CB would normally be covering. It may be Elam has much better natural skills, but maybe Benford is more cerebral and made a better match up agaisnt a guy like Kupp. Could also be the past couple weeks in closed practices, they kept Elam outside top get more work, but had Bedford work against slot guys exclusively just for last nights game. -
Posters here read way too much into his every spoken word! Everybody who's ripping Collinsworth should read Alan Pergament's column form a couple days ago. He's giving a professional critique as compared to the homers here who hate everyone who doesn't gush 24/7 over the Bills. If you read the article too he talks about the fan group that hates him even more is the Bengals, again because he doesn't praise them all the time. And I'll get nothing but hate for my post but the constant ripping anyone who doesn't always praise the Bills sounds like a bunch of 5 year olds and I'm probably insulting the 5 year olds of the world in saying that. The Bills were a lousy team for a long time so a media person is going to be more skeptical of their fast turn around. Having said all that I will say the guy who really shocked me praising the Bills was Rodney Harrison.

Who is your surprise impact player of the game?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to NORWOODS FOOT's topic in The Stadium Wall
McKenzie! Plus I'm starting him and Allen on my fantasy team -
Got to say was confused looking at the roster and number of players per position. Numbers weren't adding up. Then realized it was because Miller is grouped with the LB's I'm thinking there were 9 DL on 53 roster Something to get used to this year, likely will see more of only 5 WR and 2 TE assuming they continue to make Singletary, Moss,m and Cook all active in addition to Jones and Gilliam.

Extend Po Now - Protect the Culture
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to MarlinTheMagician's topic in The Stadium Wall
Everything you mention for the contract sounds fine, but who knows if either side is OK with that. Seems the Bills have historically offered reasonable contracts to players. Makes me wonder if it's not that Poyer is looking for that one last big pay check. Safeties typically play all game so hard to see the Bills backups playing as long as Hyde and Poyer are healthy. Like I stated above could be the guy they are thinking about isn't on the current roster too. -
Extend Po Now - Protect the Culture
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to MarlinTheMagician's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree The title of the thread was Protect the Culture" As long as the Bills have made Poyer an extension offer, can't blame them and I'd imagine even Poyer himself understands that, it's a business. Currently the Bills are kind of bidding against themselves with any offers made. After the season ends, they could then still make him an offer based on his level of play in 2022 and also based on what they've seen of backups in practice. He could test free agency and find out the offers that he wanted aren't up there from others too and still sign a contract to the Bills liking. Who knows too, maybe Beane and McD have already identified a 2023 pending FA that is a younger Poyer clone and plan to try to sign him. It's kind of a similar situation top this past off season with H Phillips. Everyone was waiting to see the Bills and he agree on a new contact. Once free agency started people here got nervous, .... until Beane signed a potential stronger/better replacement. So what's the alternative, keep Poyer around till he's 50? At some point, need to move on and it also as I mentioned above mean one of the backups will definitely become the next starter. As has been mentioned elsewhere, Bills CB's right now are big question without White, but they get away with it because of superior safety play. By next year White shouldbe back to 100% assuming no set backs and Elam a 1st rounder has a year under his belt and even Jackson has gained more needed experience. Maybe the secondary strength shifts from S to CB? On the other hand last year they benched Feliciiano in place of a guy who'd hardly played much Bates and it was a big improvement. Understand too it was different in that Feliciano was not looking good, where as Poyer has. But at some point need to bite bullet, can't keep paying for a contract that not worth it once players abilities start to decline. -
I think it's more people are afraid their computers will get infected with viruses. But there are many I'll call them legit illegal sites. I think the people that provide these see themselves as rebels and feel they are doing a duty to illegally broadcast the games. But they are not messing around with trying to infect your PC or anything either.

My first questions is why would a guy like Sherlock Holmes be asking us? You'd think he'd have this all figured out! I agree though these illegal methods are much simpler than the legal ways and really pretty darn safe. Not sure either that you can call using a VPN as a legal method. VPN's are perfectly legal, but not so sure it is when you use it to watch a TV station out of market. I think the fine print at the bottom of the TV screen says otherwise.

I'm wondering if that's going to work this year. Last worked great till around the last couple weeks of the season. Would go into the browser, set the location, do something like go to Google maps and "find my location" I'm in the Orchard Park. Go to CBS, it would list the local Buffalo CBS station, but as soon as you'd click on it, would revert to my local CBS station. It still seemed to work on You Tube TV though.
