Cowherd killing Bills coaching in his monologue
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nice to cherry picks stats! There's another whole thread on this, believe it states how McD is 1-6 is or 0-7 since last year?? Terrible in close games since last year! Yeah OK, but what about the year prior when they were like 6-0 Added all up McD is around .500 in close games, not great, but also not terrible. But easy to find stats to support a position. As the old saying goes: "Figures don't lie, but liars figure!" -
As long as you don't mind 1/2 hour half time. With ll the communications equipment connected to the sides, phones, exercise equipment, medical and training stuff to be moved once the sides are determined. Would need to happen all year, at every game, not just in hot or cold games. Yes it's the obvious answer, but likely not practical
-
Believe the rules are you need to provide the same equipment to both sides, fans for heat, or heated benches in cold weather, but would be rather difficult to dictate visiting team can't be in sun. Only so many ways you can build/orient a stadium. Not that the NFL cares much about fans but placing a tent or something on the sidelines would not do much for fans sight lines and wouldn't look very good on TV either. Recall many years ago in Minn, Bud Grant was the coach and he would not put heated benches on the field for both teams as felt Vikings were used to playing in cold other team wasn't so game them big advantage. Eventually when a player dies in a game from heat, then they may change the scheduling so games like this are played in north early and south late. But only so much can be done there too.

I do wonder if part of the issue today with Allen was he went into the game with the mindset that with all the injuries, mostly on defense, he needed to win the game himself and was too hyped up. Seems like that has happened prior in games where he starts throwing passes into the ground, he's over excited. That said he kept us in the game till the end and had a good shot to win. Thought I read somewhere that the missed kick by Bass was partially blocked??

Beane’s Offensive Negligence
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Last year and the year prior the biggest issue the team had was getting to the QB, so that's been addressed. Meanwhile the offense for the most part with much of the same line has been close to unstoppable. So we should improve the O-line and continue to have the same issue with getting to the QB. Forget the final 13 seconds in KC, the reason that game was lost was again not being able to get to Mahomes. If this was baseball and no real salary cap, I'd agree, but there's only so much money to go around. Offensive lineman seem to be the players with the most fat to muscle mass ratio too, so have to believe the heat affects them more than most other positions. Add in they usually play every play, very little subbing there. Having said that do I agree the line needs improving yes, but putting the blame on Beane ignoring the offense is crazy. Both the active roster and starter cap plus all cash categories have more money spent on offense than defense so not sure any of this argument is really even true. -
Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme

And the thread would have been started by Einstein. -
Bills Bar Savannah/Pooler Ga
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Ed_Formerly_of_Roch's topic in The Stadium Wall
So I changed my hotel reservation from Savannah to Bluffton to make it even easier. This was just a overnight stopping point on my way for drive from Florida back home to NC so actually will shorten drive the next day by about 20 miles or so. I see they have wings on the menu. Are they true western NY style or do they ruin them like most places down south? My wife has her eyes on the Beef on Weck. Use to be a real good place here in Wilmington for Beef on Weck, but closed a couple years back so haven't had one in quite awhile. Thanks for the tip. -
Bills Bar Savannah/Pooler Ga
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Ed_Formerly_of_Roch's topic in The Stadium Wall
Didn't know about this site, thanks! Does look like a cool place. Wish I knew of this last winter , was down in Hilton Head when they were in playoffs, would have been real close that trip. -
Anyone know of any Bills bars in the Savannah/Pooler Ga area? Will be traveling through the area on Sunday and want to find a place to watch game. Local CBS station is showing late Jax/Chargers game instead.

Shakir Should Not Be Inactive
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do you actually understand how moving players to the PS works? The Bills would need to drop Shakir from the 53, thus exposing him to waivers. Yes he didn't look good yesterday, but he certainly shown enough in pre-season that he'd be immediately grabbed by some other team. Beane isn't letting a 5th round draft pick who looked good in pre-season go to save another player drafted in round 6 BTW and who is safely tucked away on IR and could stay there all season if needed. The only way Stevenson makes it to the active roster is if one of the other WR's gets hurt. No matter what Shakir's not going anywhere unless he were to get hurt, then he could go to IR. And BTW the only time Stevenson has looked good was also in pre-season, the same as Shakir. -
AJ Epenesa Is really playing well
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
All rookies that year had it rough with no spring practice and no pre-season games, admittedly some handled it better. On top of that he had weight issues which didn't help any. -
If Davis is questionable, wonder if that means one of the RB's will sit out as may want an extra slot at WR. Only have two active plus Jones?? Or no Gilliam, but he's a big part of ST. Or do they bite the bullet, since Settle was also questionable, just sit him (and Oliver) and have one ones D lineman than normal and may up the spot that way. Normally don't like to swap out offense for defense slots, but may happen since down a couple there anyway.

Lets wait till Monday to see what happens. These NFL injury reports are often either way under or over stated. Teams tend to be afraid of getting fined for not reporting a paper cut so often very minor things get listed, but then things they wish to hide don't get reported.

So why did Kuup win the triple crown last year? Why don't head coaches, def coordinators, defensive players can’t have a plan to limit his yardage?? Help me understand that one? Better yet why don't you just start a thread like this: Why don't head coaches, def coordinators, defensive players can’t have a plan to limit ________________ yardage Then just fill in the blank.

Fish fans don’t even know how to tailgate right
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Got to suck for people in cars parked near it. Walked into the stadium to watch the game, afterwards headed out to drive home to find this. Hopefully the called an Uber. -
The way the NFL works likely you are correct. But is it really because of Dorsey or because he has Allen back there.
-
The one thing that I think most would agree that Edmunds is good at is with his size taking away much of the passing lanes. Probably he provides more value there than many on this board give him credit for too but there are a dozen other threads about that. But the one thing he may be best at, the suggestion is to take that away. And suggesting that after a game we sacked the QB 7 times with zero blitzing!

Von Miller played just 35 snaps vs the Rams
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Miller isn't stupid. He's seen what the Bills have done on their D line the past couple of seasons with rotating everyone in an out. He likely wouldn't have signed here if that was an issue for him. Conversely he may realize himself at his age, playing less isn't a terrible idea. I do wonder though how many snaps would McD and Frazier give to Bruce Smith if he were on this team in his prime? -
Tua and his sensitive fan base (JA17 Related)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to billsbackto81's topic in The Stadium Wall
This this guy kind of missed the point. The issue with Tua isn't under throwing the long pass, it's more a case of how fast he can get the ball to the WR 10 yards away or a 15 yard out. Those are the passes that make the difference between a starting NFL QB and a star college QB who is now a backup. -
Sounds like you're assuming the Bills tried to resign him?
-
Sounds like Beasley wanted out of Buffalo. Now that might have been based on his assumption his phone was going to be ringing off the hook last March. Now that it didn't happen, maybe he's thinking Buffalo doesn't sound that bad. Didn't realize that Wallace dropped down to #4
