Hmmmm.... So when I posted, didn't go through the numbers that closely, just based it on the concept of well if you're replacing someone below the 51 line with someone above the 51 who's salary is higher, there has to be a savings. Going through the numbers more closely, agree can't argue with what you said. But still just doesn't make sense as to why. Either way, not all that worried about it as there certainly are 3 or 4 that can be extended or restructured.

Wow kind of amazing that 6 D-line FA not re-sgned plus Star was cut for total of 7. I think they kind of rebuilt the line!! WRT cap and currently only count top 51, there's a large number of players below the top 51 cutoff that highly likely most will be on the final roster so the only way that happens is if an equal number of players above the cutoff line are gone. These are the players below the top 51 line who I think very likely will be on the team come September. Maybe not everyone I list, but most will be there: Doyle, Gilliam, Dodson, Jackson, Stevenson, Hamlin, Shakir, Araiza, Also a good chance last CB will come down to either C Lewis who right now is the last guy above the cutoff line of C Benford. Likely may also come down to choice between Dodson and B Spector who's salary is lower. Looking at the roster players likely to be gone would save around $4.2 mil and that doesn't include Ford or Matakevich Granted you do still need to add practice squad in which will cost something.

OK so he either needs to come off of PUP before final cut down and placed on 53 or he can stay on PUP for 6 weeks, then they have 5 more weeks to decide whether to let him start practicing and then have up to 21 days to activate him. Considering his injury and how long recovery often takes, that doesn't sound like such a bad thing timing wise. So he could return anywhere between around 7 weeks up to 14 weeks from beginning of season. Assuming Ford sticks around they have 9 lineman likely to make the 53, Boettger would make 10 which they often don't need barring injury. He could be a fall back if someone gets hurt or if they decide Ford isn't the answer. Could be the new line coach feels he can salvage him. This would give him some time to see if it worked.

Just reading a story on very early 53 man roster projection. It mentioned Boettger starting out on 53 then placed on IR so he;'d be eligible to return. Is starting him on PUP an option or is that only for players who got hurt not in an NFL sanctioned activity, i.e. practice, game? Thought if he's on PUP wouldn't count at all towards 53 and could still be brought back?

Don't particularly like the early season schedule though of at LA, Balt, KC and Miami when still very warm. But after that things get much easier. Overall looks good though WRT rest. I do wonder about this below. States last year the Bills faced the easiest schedule, is that determined at seasons end based on records, or was that stated last year at this same time? Where as now we have the 22nd toughest schedule based purely on projections? The Bills will face the 17th toughest schedule in 2022. Last year, the Bills played the easiest schedule in the NFL, according to many metrics, including the Sharp Football analytics.

Wow articles are really spot on when they talk about how the Bills tend to work in stealth mode more than most teams i.e. the Von Miller deal I actually was going to post a comment today that I was bit worried about Elam signing as he doesn't have an agent, was using father and uncle. Sometimes in those situations they may have acted like the diva and think they know more than an agent would since they played the game and would have made things difficult Or also could have gone very quickly as not as knowledgeable and got taken to the cleaners be Beane. Yeah but of the 1:00 games that would be the likely ones to be moved, really only Baltimore for certain would be considered a top game. Possible Miami, Cleveland, and Pitt may be good ones but Miami and Pitt are both too early to tell how good they'll actually be. Cleveland could be flexed, though I'd imagine the Bills would lobby hard against that considering they are then playing 4 days later on Thanksgiving.

I predict Titans at home week 2, wouldn't shock me to see it even played on Monday night! I consider the 4:25 games as a prime time game. The fact that 3 of the 4 teams plays their normal home games in the 4:00 hour makes it easy for them to have more exposure. Some can still end up the regional 4:05 start, but does give them a leg up on the 4:25 start times.

May be why it took this long, but can only wait so long!

Based on the number of Brady jerseys you see around, hard to believe anywhere near 75% hatred if you exclude the fan base of other AFC East teams. I think alot of the NE hatred is due to them winning so much and more due to BB but then becomes projected on Brady. Yes he's had a few bad looks, but nothing off the field. Read an article awhile back and talked about how you don't see Brady doing a bunch of commercials, movies and other off the field things. All he's focused on is winning and keeping his body in tip top shape.

Buc's gamer is in Tampa You'd think they'd rather not have a divisional game so early between 2 teams that likely will be fighting it out for the division title at least the two teams playing would rather not match up then. Game will end about 11:30 eastern time, not sure many folks on east coast would stay up that late to watch unless game is a real thriller. Really don't see many people outside NFC west fan base caring that much. Probably the biggest national home draw would be Cowboys. If they were playing Tampa at home that would be the game. Bills do have a big national following, but don't think we're in the league of Dallas or Green Bay. I do think the team with Allen could draw more excitement over the next few years than the Bills of the early 90's did. Just looking at Rams schedule, they have some of their toughest games on the road other than Bills and Cowboys. And of the three other NFC divisions winners they play, likely Cowboys is the easiest. I'm sure they'd rather play either Green Bay or Tampa at home instead.

This again!! I'd suggest you Google why don't other players besides the punter hold anymore for field goals and read just a couple of the dozen articles you'll find on the subject. I'ts not 1990 anymore, rules have changed WRT practice time etc. Yeah Matt Barkley hold, another great idea, then we can have 3 QB's on the 46 man active roster on Sundays just to hold.

McD did state that, not maybe in those exact words. Can recall reading that in more than one article. But basically stated he wasn't interested in taking a QB in his first year in Buffalo. Thought his reasoning was valid.

They kept 11 D lineman on the 53 last season, currently only have 9 non including Byrant, Ankou, and Love (sounds like a law firm) I do think there's a decent chance they still sign Zimmer back and he's on PUP at least the first half of the year. I'd argue Epenesa has only played 1.5 years as his rookie year, no mini camps, or pre-season games and a more reduced training camp. I wouldn't bet against him not becoming a bust, but agree we need to give him a chance to see what he can do. IMO there's no shame in the fact that he couldn't get playing time ahead of Hughes or Addison. I also think he may be one of these guys that its taking awhile to figure out the right mic for him on playing weight to not lose either speed or strength.

I won't be shocked is Epenesa is a bust, certainly would not bet against it. But don't see any shame in Epenesa not being able to beat out an 11 year pro who still had 7 sacks this past season. Epenesa and others drafted in 2020 also suffered from no mini camp or pre-season games, believe training camp was also shortened, and other limitations that year around meetings, etc from what I recall. You could argue at this point he has the equivalent of about 1.5 seasons under his belt. Even 2021 rookies were behind the curve as don't think there was any spring football in 2020, plus other limitations and shortened season. Recall Groot and Brown didn't even play college football in 2020. (Hard to keep track of it as the years are kind of all blending together) Also think Epenesa may be one of these guys they are still trying to figure out the balance between how heavy he needs to be not to be knocked around, but also how light to not lose his quickness. While this is true of most players, think he may be more affected by it than some. Didn't really ever think about this before, but for the Bills not having all their draft picks in 2020 due to Diggs trade probably wasn't the worst thing as rookies were put in a worse situation than other years. Some did do well and didn't seem to matter, but I'm sure it put many behind the curve some.

Can't see them getting the Thursday Night Thanksgiving game 2 years in a row. Could see them getting the noon game at Detroit, even then, not sure they'd want 2 years in a row on that day. So if opening game is at Baltimore, who will the Rams play at home? Likely three attractive games, Bills, Dallas, or maybe Denver. So if Bills at Baltimore, leaves the other two. Don't recall what year, wasn't that long ago, Bills opened the season at Baltimore. Would also think Bills/Baltimore would warrant more than a 1:00 game too. There are two 4:25 games the first week, could see this being one of them.

No real surprise that the west coast teams are all in the top half of the list. And also the entire AFC North is at the bottom of the list as that division probably has the four closest teams to each other. If they ever swapped out Balt. for Buffalo would be even closer.

The other thing many are ready to label Epenesa a bust (and doubts on Basham) as he's hardly had much playing time. He's had to beat out two experienced vets in Addison and Hughes. And this past year add in a rookie 1st rounder. Wasn't the first one off the bench either, but the backups also were all more experienced. This year with Addison and Hughes gone, no place for them to hide. He could be a bust, but lets wait to December to decide as this will be a make or break year. Wouldn't also totally shock me to see Epenesa get's traded

I'd go with Groot on defense and Davis on offense.

So other than Broncos and Jax, all NFC teams. And Jax plays one every year in London. So am guessing next year the AFC with having the extra home game will be the main teams in Europe. Will put my money on Buffalo being one of them either as home or away team.
