What was nice to see is our coaching staff paying Milano what he wanted and understanding the importance of retaining him, but then also understanding that the right move was to let Edmunds walk. They got that right.

They were great at maximizing execution and eliminating unforced errors. Just doing your job correctly, on every play, and not doing dumb crap, can add up to a lot of wins and few losses. BB obviously understands that and preaches it; I suspect he also is the type of coach who motivates through fear...which happens to be a GREAT motivator.

In fairness, any team in the league is always 1 QB season ending injury away from having a terrible season. But I know what you mean here. I want to see what the Jets are all about. We might have trouble winning the division this year. Or we might not.

Are there not rules in place saying "leave all personal electronic devices in a backpack, and if it turns on during the class, you leave the classroom?" I can't imagine even trying to teach in 2023 without having such a rule in place first.

I have consistently said we are in for a regression year for many reasons, not the least of which is our main competitors have moved ahead of us and we were behind them to begin with. I expect us to make the playoffs, but not make it to the AFC Championship game. Even if you look at the Patriots with BB and Brady in their PRIME...every year was not "the year" for them either. There are going to be ups and downs along the road of Josh's career. I see this as a moderately down year.

Were you thinking he was particularly intelligent prior to this?

Smarter always = better, in any form of competition.

I'll be very surprised if we win 13. Not sure how they have the Jets at 8 though. There's so much unknown about that situation at the moment. I guess these people have to write about something, even when there's nothing to say.

Just got back from Orchard Park. Work is progressing remarkably quickly. It also looks like they have changed the plans and are going with a dome.

The Butch Rolle goal line play worked like a charm! I'm not sure I can recall running that play and it NOT working.

I voted "Jones" simply b/c that's a lot of money and I don't think he's particularly good. Honorable mention goes to Carr, who has greatness in him, but it just doesn't come out enough with consistency. And he can be really lousy too!

Browns have to have, bar none, the worst uniforms in the league. Been that way forever. Given their history and lack of "recent" success, you would think they would do something about it.

I would imagine they have a special "program" that they go through, discussing many things that they don't know about, but veterans do. Teaching them how we do things, what is expected of them, the importance of them focusing and giving it their all at that stage of their career, and a million other things. Makes sense to me.
