Sean Payton on Broncos 2022 Season - Wow
Nextmanup replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is an interesting comment from that Tweet: "They were 29th in the league in pre-snap penalties on both sides of the ball." Reminds me of past Bills teams; it's kind of an odd stat, taken on its own, but it tells you all you need to know about a football team in terms of professionalism, preparedness, coaching, practice habits, discipline, teamwork, and tons of other stuff. That's a really good stat to pay attention to. Call it the train wreck stat, if you will. -
@ 73% of this board will be GRAVELY CONCERNED. It's mostly lazy older guys who have heard "run and stop the run" and "you win with defense" for too many years now, and they haven't caught on to the idea yet that times change.

I never understood this point of view. It sounds great and all on an online message board, I guess...but... I hope he misses our game and it allows us to beat them handily, and we turn a LOSS into a WIN. I approach it from the military perspective. I'm not looking for fair fights here, just victory, as easily as possible.

FIFA Woman's World Cup...USWNT looking to 3 Peat!
Nextmanup replied to Big Turk's topic in Off the Wall
Well I actually know a good bit about soccer and routinely follow the women's World Cup...but I'm not so sure about these social and political issues surrounding the sport. What are you talking about? I watched all of Argentina vs. Italy; Argentina has a good team so I'm not surprised by the comeback. Of course, they were no match for my Italia however! -
Ever notice that when these guys get the huge money, they don't waste any time spending it? I thought Josh was a farm boy from northern CA? When did he pick up these sorts of money wasting spending habits? I find it weird. If I came by $50 million tomorrow, I would have a hard time spending huge chunks of it on random, unneeded stuff. I guess it's just the different way people are wired.

...but what if it has! 😱 Some of the statements that came out of that Congressional hearing (under oath, for whatever that's worth) include: 1) we are in possession of "alien" spacecraft 2) we are in possession of "biologics" from said spacecraft 3) we have known about alien spacecraft on Earth since the 1930s 4) some humans have been physically harmed by "biologics" in human vs. "alien" altercations It is more than a little ironic that the "public hearings" meant to get to the bottom of some of this stuff could not really be "public" at all. All the good stuff remained unspoken, as David Grusch reiterated over and over that he can't discuss X in a non-classified setting.

CB Move: Bills waive Dantzler, Sign Brown

A guy like Milano makes you rethink the NFL's reliance on numbers and the combine. He is a LB the size of a strong safety, but it doesn't really matter. If you can play, you can play.

What would be worse? A "collapse" followed by a regrouping? Or 5 more years of failed playoff campaigns?

HC/QB combo the Bills are #8. (Colin Cowherd clickbait)
Nextmanup replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
So to review, if the Bills had been ranked much more highly, this would have been legitimate journalism with sound decision making, correct? But at 8 out of 10, this must be pure clickbait! -
Sinéad O’Connor paid dearly for criticizing the Catholic church. History proved her right. https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/27/entertainment/sinead-oconnor-pope-photo-intl-scli/index.html PS: London police say her death is "not suspicious."

I read this as "hostility" tent. LOL 🤷♂️

There are a bunch of good videos on Youtube with footage from the hearing yesterday, for anyone interested.

1949 AAFL Championship Game: Bills @ Browns
Nextmanup replied to Old Coot's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ah yes, back in the days when NO ONE in this country gave a damned about professional football. It was ALL BASEBALL and college football back then. -
It's all just more band-aids from McBeane. If only we could get them to love the OL the way they love the DL. Prepare for a regression year.

Josh's elite running ability won't last past 33 no matter what! People get old. Josh's running is an important part of his game; keep running Josh! And message to McClappy: win the F-ing SB while you have a QB capable of full service. Josh's running window is a hell of a lot smaller than his throwing window, regardless of injury.

What happened? I can still picture her video when she was young and shaved bald! She was GORGEOUS. She put on a lot of weight in more recent years. Can't believe she's gone. Great voice! And her ripping up the photo of the Pope was epic.

Well look who has the smartest fans in football
Nextmanup replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have to question their methodology if they have Bucs fans at #3. -
What? Family matters? In house? Water under the bridge? My God, they hate each other!

Don't make the mistake of judging a team based on what it did 1 season ago. Last year is meaningless. Last year on opening night, we were all overjoyed that we beat up on the defending Super Bowl champions. Little did we all know at the time that LA was hot trash, and about to win 5 games all year long. NFL teams ROUTINELY change dramatically from one year to the next, for better or worse. The Jets might go to the SB this year, or be terrible. The ultimate answer to your question is: we'll find out.

The Bruins as we know them are finished.

FIFA Woman's World Cup...USWNT looking to 3 Peat!
Nextmanup replied to Big Turk's topic in Off the Wall
The complete lack of team structure can be appalling at times, but the best teams play much better than that. Just watched the recent German, Brazilian, and Italian games, and they were all pretty fun to watch. It'll get a lot more fun deeper in the tourney when good teams play good teams. It's the same in all tournaments. -
YEP! I'll repeat yet again...crazy can be a lot of fun, for about a month.
