You obviously need more education on this topic. Every single guy who died in WWII, to name one of dozens of wars this country has fought, died so that this player could do what she did. A peaceful political statement of this type could not be MORE AMERICAN. If you want strict laws enforcing obedience as a single person sees fit, and stricter penalties for violating those laws, you belong in Putin's Russia. Or Stalin's USSR. Or Hitler's Germany. Have you considered emigrating to Russia? I've been there. St. Petersburg is a lovely city.

You can't see the difference between "REDSKIN" and "BLACKHAWK?" The issue isn't ANY reference to native Americans....the issue is with derogatory equivalents of the "N" word with regard to native Americans. Anyhoo, if the native Americans can group together and make peace with the new ownership, that would be great. I personally don't think anyone at the football team ever meant to insult native Americans.

For what it's worth, I have seen some guys get KILLED in NFL or NHL games, where you are convinced the guy is going to be out 6 weeks or maybe 6 months....and then the guy is playing 2 shifts later (in the NHL) or back on the field 1 or 2 possessions later in the NFL! So it's true, you can't really go by that at all.

What exactly is it about watching some dude blast a doe that appeals to you in the first place? 🤷‍♂️

This whole conversation reminds me of the time, a few years ago, Terry Bradshaw dissed Josh on national TV. He was literally outside on that stupid set they build and go on prior to the game. He's standing out there with the other guys, and it came time for Terry to mention his 3 second sound byte for the segment. He said: "For me, [as a QB] you are either accurate or not accurate, and I don't think Josh Allen is accurate" or words to that effect. I keep thinking of that clip every now and again. I really hate Terry Bradshaw in general and find him to add NOTHING to a football broadcast. He's also dumber than dirt. I don't know how he keeps his job.

I went with No. 1, in that I enjoy technical discussion WHEN THERE IS SOMETHING INTERESTING GOING ON THAT IS WORTH DISCUSSING, which is not very often in the offseason. Once the season starts, there are LOTS of technical discussions that can be had each week. I enjoy following along with the discussion. The "fan booster club" aspect to this place is borderline meaningless to me.

This statement is FAR too broad to reflect the data you have presented here. Define "rookie" (what round?); define "use" (what in the world does that mean? 1 play = used); what the hell is a "meaningful role" ??? Your data shows a guy like Epenesa, a highly touted, well received SECOND ROUNDER played a mere 27% of the time in his rookie season. That goes directly against your conclusion, for example. I'm guessing there is some serious confirmation bias going on here; you wanted to believe the notion that McDermott won't use rookies is false, you dug up the data, and you interpreted it to suit your liking with quite a few subjective opinions along the way. That isn't how statistics works.

Who fits the offense better? Who cares!? If Josh goes down for any appreciable amount of time, the season is over. There is solace in knowing it is exactly the same for every team in the league, save 1 or 2.

Excellent post filled with incisive commentary! You and I see Edmunds almost exactly the same way. The excerpt I highlighted defines who Edmunds is as a player. Edmunds has huge athletic ability but incredibly low football IQ = very replaceable talent. Will be fun to dig out this thread at mid-season and laugh at all the posters talking about Edmunds as a loss to the D in 2023. Edmunds' absence NOT being a problem will be one of the early themes of the season.

Folks don't seem to be very familiar with Joe Klecko in this thread. He was an outstanding defensive lineman and had ENORMOUS strength. Like he stood out amongst huge guys playing in the NFL. Ask anyone who played against him, he was a BEAST. I remember Will Wolford talking about the difficulties of playing against him. He's totally HOF worthy IMO.

Never mind about White's age! We still don't know if he can play anywhere CLOSE to who he was before his last injury. Jury still very much out on him.
