  1. Can't imagine this has any impact on the team whatsoever.
  2. God knows it worked wonders for CJ Spiller.
  3. He's an easy upgrade given his inability to remain healthy, especially combined with his high salary. He's one of the more obvious cap-inspired cuts waiting to happen IMO.
  4. RIP to an absolute legend! One of the all-time greats! I loved him in about 10,000 films, but "Battle of Britain" is a personal favorite.
  5. It is STAGGERING that a guy like Nate Peterman can survive in this league this long, and become a multi-millionaire in the process! My God, there is a giant dearth of Quarterback Talent out there!
  6. The fact that there is such debate surrounding his game is all anyone needs to know about how good he is. Don't recall any debate at all about how good or bad Biscuit or Talley were, for example.
  7. All I want is one! One championship from the Bills and one from the Sabres and I'm good to go.
  8. I am all about "chippy" in any sport. It makes things a lot more interesting, and it's nice when the millionaires involved in modern sport actually get emotional about what they are doing on the field. The NHL is now a big love fest and the utter antagonism and grit that used to be a part of every game is long gone from the league now, except on occasion. Remember the good old days of hearing about an altercation in the pre-game warmup!? 2 guys talking to each other on either side of the red line, after someone shot the puck at the other team's goalie or something like that....with a buzz of "watch out on the opening face-off, this thing is going to boil over quickly tonight!" I LOVED that stuff and miss it dearly.
  9. One thing I love about this forum, especially as compared to others I participate at, is that there is a huge volume of traffic here and my comments are usually quickly responded to, or vice versa, which gives a feeling of conversation. Now and again, I will note that there aren't really any replies being sent all over the forum and it appears to be quiet. I will then look at the clock and see it is 4:35pm on a Friday and think "of course no one is on here; they are getting out of work and focusing on the weekend." LOL Some forums I participate at have such small memberships, you know nothing you write will receive a response for maybe a day or two. You aren't really "talking". It's more like you are exchanging letters in the mail.
  10. They are chasing the 5th spot at best in our division this year, and are likely to miss it. Only the top 4 teams will make the playoffs; there's the rub. One 3 or 4 game losing streak and the season is over. We won't be able to come back from that and catch the big 4 who will be getting their points steadily all year long. Are we exactly the same team as last year? No. Are we substantively better or showing that we are clearly moving in the right direction? No.
  11. How about trading only for players named "Bill". Then those Bills would literally be Buffalo "BILLS". Is this the sort of thing the OP had in mind?
  12. Luck seemed to have achieved inner peace with his decision to walk away, at least when he did it. Can he be having different feelings now? Sure, I guess, but I don't see it happening.
  13. I voted "YES" and "right of first refusal" as did pretty much everyone else.
  14. You're mixing up what you know about his past with the present, and assuming he is the same player he always was. He's not. Hard pass.
  15. How about we wait and see what it actually is, and then comment as appropriate at that time? 🤔
  16. Disagree. Anyone who gives a late first for Darnold is simply acknowledging that the Jets organization is a tire fire and almost no one had a chance to succeed in that position. Would Josh Allen be exactly the same QB he is today if he had been drafted by the Jets? I would suggest he would not be. Those who liked Darnold to begin with could easily give a first for him. I thought he regressed in his last year at USC and hasn't ever really shined as hoped for, but these NFL guys love to retread people over and over and over, always thinking they are the magic QB whisperer who can turn things around. Darnold deserves at least another shot at a different organization, as does Josh Rosen in my opinion. He may have had the single worst QB entry into the NFL in league history.
  17. This board has overwhelmingly embraced Allen as an elite franchise QB, and seems to assume the level he played at in 2020 will be the norm for his entire career. I agree with you; it remains to be seen if he can continue to perform at this level. He made huge, historic, unprecedented progress last off-season. It's not guaranteed he will stay where he is.
  18. Having seen his video, I would definitely suggest that Beasley not stick to rapping. 😭
  19. How many people can say they received an RAF flypast on the occasion of their 100th birthday?! What an epic human being!
  20. I stumbled across a relatively new documentary series on HBO last night. "Lady and the Dale." I saw parts 1 and 2. It will be a 4 part series. I don't think parts 3 or 4 have aired yet. Sucked me right in; very well done and interesting story I was not familiar with. Definitely recommended! HBO this Sunday premieres a four-part documentary called "The Lady and The Dale" that traces the story of one of the biggest cons in auto industry history. It tells the tale of the Dale, a three-wheeler promoted as a cheap, light, and fuel-efficient commuter in the 1970s — and the story of the car's biggest promoter, the company founder who wound up in jail.
  21. She's just an aging celebrity trying to remain relevant. Can't blame her! I, for one, fully support her semi-nude publicity stunts. In fact, I would urge her to pursue some nude publicity stunts.
  22. And how highly would you value Jerry Hughes current pass rushing skills? For the vast bulk of the season, they were "not good enough."
  23. I don't find anything that he wrote particularly controversial or unsusual. The one thing I would disagree with is his assertion that most of the time, retired football players will look back on their career and say it was NOT worth it. Every time I have EVER heard a retired NFL player speak about that, he says he would do it all over again in a minute. Seems about right to me. With some exceptions, of course.
  24. The entire analysis hinges on what player you are talking about. First rounders include some of the biggest misses in league history, as well as some of the best HOFers! It's why a blanket statement like "first rounders are overrated" is idiotic.
