When it's this bad, for this long, through this many permutations, it's only about one thing: ownership.

Yes but John Clayton says Cleveland is out of the running and they are not a finalist for consideration! He seemed to say all that the other day with confidence that he had good information.

Only 2 teams put in requests to interview Daboll
Nextmanup replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doesn't reflect well on Daboll, but... It is possible some teams wanted to pursue him but did not b/c we were making a deep playoff run. These teams like to get all those coaching slots in order as fast as possible. It seems a little nuts to me, but people on the inside say this is the case. Perhaps if we had not even made the playoffs this year, he would have had more interview requests. -
I think they do have a good relationship, but I don't think it counts for much in the broader conversation of what to do at backup QB. I think Fitz would come back to Buffalo, guaranteed, if we made the offer and he didn't have something better going on from anyone else. I think Fitz generally thinks very positively of his time in Buffalo, the community, the fans, and so on.

Deshaun Watson officially requests trade from Houston
Nextmanup replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At this point I just hope he doesn't end up in the AFC East, and yet he very well might! -
Emerson, Lake, and Palmer -- Perhaps like you've never seen them before.

Well now, isn't this an amazing find! Nearly an hour long! I'll watch every second of it later tonight when I have time. -
Psychics are, by definition, scam artists. What they do is really quite interesting from a human psychological perspective, but it has nothing to do with psychic powers. A lot of what they do, for a lot of people, is therapeutic in nature. So if visiting a psychic helps you get over the loss of a loved one, for example, great! Go for it. But don't confuse the psychological factors at play with the psychic actually communicating with your dead loved one. That's not happening.

Can you please point out where the hole in the fence is? Thanks! -
Danielle Hunter perfect trade target
Nextmanup replied to Gambit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This talk about acquiring Danielle is exciting! I wasn't aware a female is in the league! Think of the PR value of this. -
If someone is offering $15 million to $16 million, I'm out of the running if I'm the Bills. This is why I was opposed to the idea in the first place. Too much $$$ at this point in his career.

Bring Shady back for 1 more year?

I was disappointed that the OP did not include the phrase "hear me out." -

Who else caught the first episode of "Allen v. Farrow" on HBO? I thought it was well done and it's an interesting story. New episodes air on Sunday nights. -
There's so many to comment on there, but Cordy Glenn instead of Bobby Wagner is one that really got to me. The list is a great reminder that "draft ranking" is not really a thing. I.E., you don't get the 5th best player in the draft with the 5th pick. You don't get the 18th best player with the 18th pick. Team valuation of players is way off all around the league. For this reason, number of picks is almost always better than perceived rank. You could quietly pick 27th every year, and if you had perfect vision of who to take, you'd still stock your team with pro bowlers and HOFers.

Trade up or trade back in this year’s draft?
Nextmanup replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trading back is almost always the right thing to do. Number of picks trumps ranking of picks IMO. Give yourself more spins of the wheel to hit on some great players. -
Came here to post this but you beat me to it. John Clayton did a Pittsburgh radio segment today in which he mentioned all this. Interesting that Buffalo is in the Final 3.

Ran Sim for 2021 Draft, Be my guess to add your two cents.
Nextmanup replied to 27yankees's topic in Off the Wall
What is the point of running such mock simulations? The results are not going to match what really happens, and what really happens is what we Bills fans are actually interested in. Yes? I know the OP here is certainly not the only one doing this sort of thing, but I don't get it. The trick is to wait for the actual draft to occur, then study and comment on *that* set of results, insofar as we can! And you really can't evaluate a draft for 2 or 3 years anyway! I guess this is just another form of NFL football withdrawal! If we had actual games to watch, we wouldn't be running mock drafts. -
Can you imagine the Sabres being in a similar position and firing the HC? Difference between franchises. PS: Julien should be on the Sabres payroll before bedtime tonight.

What makes this song great? Ep. 63 Rush - Limelight
Nextmanup replied to Fixxxer's topic in Off the Wall
Thanks for posting this. I hadn't run into this guy but I will probably end up watching most/all of his videos! I'm a guitar player and love Rush and Alex Lifeson's guitar playing. I think he's really underrated as one of the better all time guitarists. He does a lot of weird stuff that is very typical for him--but not for other guitarists. I think that contributes a lot to that distinctive Rush sound.
