Strong "Yes" for me. The glasses are a big factor here.

I always thought this was a cool piece of graphic design (still do!), but especially back when my 6 year old brain first saw it! I remember being mesmerized by this and just staring at it.

You are assuming every NFL player will know the entire lineup of the opposition, week to week. Tom Brady is living in the real world and knows the difficulty in getting football players to understand who even a handful of guys are on the field, over and over, from teams you play all the time. See the difference? He probably has nightmares about trying to tell some idiot who the Mike is on a given play, and now that job just got a little bit harder.

15 years ago today, Brian Campbell laid out RJ Umberger
Nextmanup replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in Off the Wall
I love this and still watch it every now and again when I need a pick-me-up. It might very well be the best hit I have ever seen thrown while watching a live hockey game. My favorite part is RJ saying "And now they're all chasing after Campbell!" "Chasing" is such a great choice of word in that context. Anyone only listening solely to the radio broadcast would have heard the crowd going insane and that tone in RJ's voice--like all hell had broken loose on the ice and absolutely anything might happen next, with the entire Philly team "chasing after" Brian Campbell. Just awesome. NHL hockey doesn't have nearly enough incidents of this type in it anymore. -
There are always exceptions, and some cars lease *much better* than others. But as a general rule, leasing is the most expensive way to own a car. The upside is that you are constantly driving around in a new or nearly-new car, never have to worry about maintenance (everything is always under warranty), and you get the pleasure of experiencing a ton of new cars before you die. It's really a question of what your priorities are.

I don't really see what the difference is! Looks pretty much the way Bengals jerseys have pretty much always looked. I don't really remember the details! LOL

Short and pop songs go together like salt and pepper, ham and eggs, cream and sugar.... There are about 10 million of them.

Ones who were/are Sopranos series(HBO) fans......
Nextmanup replied to Patrick Duffy's topic in Off the Wall
There is a great, long interview done by Peter Bogdanovich with Chase on Youtube. Definitely worth watching for fans of the show or those interested in film. It's one of the more intelligently coordinated discussions on directing I've ever seen actually. There are now also quite a few fan-made videos on Youtube dissecting the final episode, some of which are really well done. Here's the Bogdanovich interview; I can't imagine a big fan of The Sopranos not loving every minute of this: -
Never been so disinterested in a draft
Nextmanup replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will never understand the pre-draft hype and all the mock drafts and so on. Interest in the draft entirely hinges on what real teams actually do on the day. None of us will know any of that until draft day gets here. So in the meantime, why not go catch up on your gardening or something? Maybe these are the same fans watching 12 hours of pre-game garbage on Super Bowl Sunday? -
The team is playing much better under Granato. Last night was probably their best game of the year. For whatever reason, the Caps came out flat and had an off night, but we still played really well. Something that can't be argued, also, is that team motivation is way higher now than under Krueger. By my count, there has only been 1 game where the team looked disinterested under Granato. Coming out ready to play and stringing competitive periods together is now more the norm. Krueger is probably the worst HC in franchise history.

I feel quite strongly that Tony gets killed in front of his family by the guy who went into the bathroom. David Chase is like a surgeon with what he shows you and why. The evidence is all there. The decision to cut to credits without actually showing it was simply an artistic choice and I think probably the best way to handle it in the end. Even if it made a lot of viewers unhappy at the time. -
The Great Tremaine Edmunds Debate
Nextmanup replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Edmunds should be getting ridiculous tackle counts based purely on where he plays and how he fits into the D. The fact that he doesn't should signal a problem. -
Dolphins Fan Take - Morning JA Discussion At Work
Nextmanup replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I said all last year that the lack of crowds should have helped every offense in every game. It also kept games relatively quiet, which can only help the nerves of any young player. I personally think the lack of a crowd would have helped me personally if I was out there. But the question is how much of a factor was it for any specific player. I don't think it should be regarded as overly important, whereas your co-worker seems to be hanging his entire argument on this single aspect of the game. -
Never move up! Why would you want to do that? You have to remember, no one knows who the good players are, the great ones or the busts. It's not as simple as the guy being rated highly. NFL teams get it wrong all the time and more often than not. More picks are always better. *Unless you are making your move for a franchise QB near the top of the draft and need a franchise QB. Otherwise, always a bad strategy.

Not wild at all! It was all fueled by greed. He was telling his investors not to look too closely at how he was doing it, but that he could bring huge returns and that was all they needed to hear. Some of them were giving him like $500 million in one chunk! Greed is what this country was built on and what fuels it on a daily basis!

Every time this topic comes up, I mention the fact that I have always been amazed at the number of people I see at a "pass out" level of drunkenness, BEFORE THE GAME STARTS. Without question, a fairly large percentage of "Bills fans" are at the games to get drunk and forget about their problems for a few hours. Don't know what that number is, but it's not insignificant.

That and the unbelievable pounding his body has taken over the years. He's going to be the type of ex-NFL player who can't walk when he's 50.

2017 Draft Trade - Flip The Template?
Nextmanup replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Never move up, unless you need a franchise QB and you think you can get him with the move up. Trade down, especially at 30! More kicks at the can are better than less. -
Ciao, Montour. Glad to be rid of you! Botterill took a prospect (Guhle), added a first round pick, turned it into Montour, which we have now turned into a third round pick. And people wonder why we are bad.

If Chad's rumor about Karmanos was true, he'd be working for the Sabres by now. With every day that passes, I'm thinking that is not going to happen. Don't want Rutherford near this team; he's over the hill at 72, was a failure in his last go-around, and in general, I don't want anyone from the Penguins organization touching the Sabres. They are not the organization to copy IMO. You have to remember any success the Penguins have enjoyed is largely b/c they have 2 of the best 5 players in the world on their team. That skews things a bit; further, given that they have 2 of the top 5, they haven't won nearly enough. I would much rather copy LA, as their roster was constructed when they won their 2 recent cups; that was the perfect NHL playoff team IMO. They were sweeping series and not even losing single games; ironically, it was GMTM who wanted to build a "heavy" team in the LA mold, but he didn't stick around long enough to pull it off. Some day, Pegula is going to learn that if you keep switching what checkout line you are in at the grocery store, you'll never check out.
