  1. What changed? We went from having generations of garbage QBs to a Top-3 in the league QB, and utterly garbage front offices to one of the better ones in the league. The overall team talent level is higher now than it's been in 30 years. That's what changed! EVERYTHING....and the press is making note.
  2. No on Edmunds; Yes on the other 2. But who knows.
  3. I've been going to Bills games since the early '80s. I am ALWAYS amazed at the huge amount of empty seats as late as 12:55pm! I swear, the last 15 or 20,000 seats are filled from like 1pm to 1:10pm and huge numbers of people miss the opening kickoffs. Idiots.
  4. Down here in SE FL, I'm saved this week with Miami playing in the later time slot on Sunday... So I get the Bills on TV! Good way to open the season. I notice the Thursday night, Sunday Night, and Monday night games are all only "so so" games for me. Kind of a disappointing lineup for Week 1.
  5. I think it's kind of ridiculous to suggest Kelly was more athletic than anyone. I always used to laugh when the broadcast guys would talk about how he was slated to be a linebacker at PSU. How was that possible? He had nothing close to the speed to play LB at that level for a major school power. No way was that going to happen. Tom Brady is deceptively athletic, but it doesn't matter. His skill is that he's CONSISTENT, and bring a mental component to the QB position Kelly couldn't dream of possessing. The game is about 10 million times more complicated now, compared to Kelly's era.
  6. They usually replay the "interview of the day" (if there is one) in the 6:30pm to 7:00pm slot. Do you realize that there are threads just like this one over at Sabres boards? Only they are bitching about the amount of air time the station dedicates to the Bills. He stammers around regardless if he is alone or not. He literally can't speak clearly. It has always amazed me that a guy with his verbal communication skill level got a job talking on the radio every day. Then again, this is WNY we are talking about.
  7. I use an old fashioned safety razor for shaving and also manscaping. Do it in the shower with plenty of hot water, soapy suds, and a very steady hand! It's all you need. Merkur 34c pictured is what I use, but any good safety razor is great.
  8. I notice that NFL Network has the Bills games scheduled for a live airing tomorrow night. Not sure I miss football enough to watch PS game 1 for teams not named Buffalo.
  9. Haven't you noticed that a lot of Bills fans are obsessed with all things New England/Tom Brady/Bill Belichick? They just can't let it go!
  10. I assumed her K at NFL network wasn't renewed when I saw she joined the Bills. Highly doubt we got in a bidding war for her services.
  11. I enjoyed the closing ceremony more than the opening ceremony. Having said that, all of the very traditional Japanese stuff that they did, in both opening and closing ceremonies, was really cool. This young woman last night who was doing "interpretive dancing" as a tree was totally cool. In the opening ceremony, the guy doing the dance while portrayed as "death" was really interesting and very Japanese. He actually did a good job of portraying "death" which can't be easy. We've been lucky this summer! I love big international sporting tournaments and to get Euro 2020 and the Olympics back to back in the same summer was a treat. And now only 3 years to Paris too, and winter games this winter!
  12. It's an interesting point. Even people we know well, if we have not seen them in a long time, don't age in our minds. They tend to stay the same age as when we were last around them. I look back at my favorite high school teachers now (class of '89) and think of them as they were...in some instances, guys in their 30s. I tend to forget they are all old men and in fact quite a few of them are now dead.
  13. Dead worst franchise in the NHL, easily, with Ottawa being the only serious contender for the honor. Here's the thing: Pegula got lucky with his football hirings and then got out of the way. He's had terrible NHL hirings and fancies himself a hockey expert, so he gets in the way of everything, despite being an idiot. When a sports team is this bad, for this long, the only place you can look for an answer is ownership. Here's to hoping he sells the Sabres and focuses on the Bills. I think he will do that, at some point in the future. No one likes to be surrounded by misery forever.
  14. It's interesting that they have developed that custom, because it's fundamentally a bad idea and should lead to people getting sick. Most time-honored human rituals are rooted in common sense. Digging up dead people and playing around with them isn't really a great idea.
  15. The entire Star Wars world. Go back and watch the first 3 movies; they are not particularly good movies. I was obsessed with them as a kid back in the '70s. Growing up I thought the coolest character from the Star Wars world, bar none, was Boba Fett. Go back and look at his costume; it looks like something kids made out of pajamas in the garage in about an hour, using whatever stuff they could find in the garage. It's ridiculously stupid looking to me now. Boba, like Star Wars itself, has not held up well. Most of the special effects (most) have stood up pretty well, however. But the acting, writing, plot line, it's pretty below average stuff. What is funny is that this has not stopped the franchise from being pretty much the most successful film franchise of all time, and it made George Lucas a billionaire 3 times over. So there's that! I thought the same thing when I recently saw a photo of Sinead O'Connor.
  16. Although I have no fight with Bucky Gleason in particular, nor do I partake in the Buffalo News hate of this board, I do agree that realtors are some of the lowest scum on the Earth, and only in America would such a system even be allowed to exist, with the same realtor often having an allegiance to both sides of the same transaction. No conflict of interest there, right? I'm not entirely sure why the world needs real estate agents, anymore than it needs car salesmen. Seems like if you made these people get real jobs, products out in the marketplace could be a lot cheaper and purchasing transactions would actually be a lot smoother/easier/nicer.
  17. Tesla build quality, fit and finish, and overall quality of materials is junky and pedestrian. Most car guys I know, like myself, do not like them primarily for that reason. At that price point, you can get much nicer things from other manufacturers. It's also worth noting that the current electric fad is not the path forward, long term. That will be hydrogen power. I don't understand the electric fascination with current battery technology limitations, which are pretty severe.
  18. No one. This is directed by David Chase, not George f-ing Lucas!
  19. What the OP feels about Poland is how I feel about the Italian national team. Being of Italian descent and having some family members still living over in Italy, I have always identified with Italy as "my team" in international football. Mancini has everyone going in the right direction, but if they play against Belgium the way they played against Austria, Italy will be out!
  20. My hatred for the Habs runs so deep, I find myself cheering for TB in the finals. Which is funny, as I hate the TB team and they just won last year. I'm just going to cheer for an evenly played, exciting series. I don't think we'll get one, however. TB in 5 or 6.
  21. These idiots are actually going to trade Jack Eichel before bringing in a proven NHL-winning HC, and seeing if that can solve some of our problems. I feared this approach several months ago, but at that time had hope they would not be *that* stupid. Only Terry Pegula would conclude that our problems are somehow related to Jack Eichel--the guy who is, by far, the best player on the team and more than a point a game player when healthy. I wonder if our garbage goaltending is related to our losing? Our complete lack of talent and depth throughout the lineup? Our garbage 3rd and 4th line forwards. Our mediocre defensive corps? The completely stalled and regressed development of Dahlin. Our use of a soccer administrator has a hockey head coach. Are any of those things related, Terry? I've said this for several years now: Terry Pegula is the least informed sports fan you've ever known. He's "that guy". Just our luck he ends up owning the team. He's a curse and I pray for the day he sells the team to focus on the Bills.
  22. OP is not the right location for the new stadium; it is beyond obvious that it should be in the city, which is why it won't happen. 👎
  23. I really hope lots of players follow Nassib's lead and come out as well.
