  1. I tend to avoid it after big, easy wins, b/c that's when the kool aid drinkers come out, ridiculous predictions start flying, and it's just generally better to avoid. For some reason, as I've said for years, your average 2BD member is a kool aid drinker type who simply wants to cheer on the team as part of a booster club culture. I just want objective analysis of what's going on with the team, if that's bad news, so be it. Those are 2 very different purposes.
  2. I'm a huge Red Sox fan and I don't go "instant doom" ever with them. In fact, ever since the big win in 2004, I have been a totally transformed, relaxed fan of the team, after a lifetime of assuming doom and gloom at all opportunities. One championship is all it takes to FOREVER change you as a fan. Bills fans don't realize this yet...but if we ever win a Super Bowl, you'll never hold onto this team as desperately and tightly as you probably do now. Suddenly it all becomes "all good" all the time, and it doesn't really matter if we lose any particular game, because we already won it all and proved we could do it.
  3. Look at this dude! We don't have a receiver on the roster who brings to the game what Josh does, when he's healthy and tuned into the program.
  4. If I was somehow able to interview him and do a deep investigation into where he's at in his life right now, and conclude that he has turned a corner and has his troubles in check, I would LOVE him on this team. He's a freak of natural talent. The concern would be that he hasn't really changed. I'd also LOVE Richie Incognito back, subject to the same set of concerns. He seems to back on his meds and/or off the bottle, whatever his problem was.
  5. About 85% of this board said the same about the Pittsburgh game! (And pretty much all games, for that matter).
  6. Josh has a nice history of playing well against the Fish, but I don't see this game being "easy" at all either. I live an hour north of the stadium; it's going to be hot and humid, believe me. It's as bad with that stuff right now as it's been all year.
  7. Haven't heard of any of them; maybe they are local WNY bands?
  8. He showed up on the starting grid in Monza before the Italian GP on Sunday! I assume he was promoting some movie.
  9. I just want to go on record and state that I would never ridicule any woman for showing her jugs. What is the world coming to?
  10. OMG! "Brador!" Haven't heard or thought of that name in several decades. That was always thought of as the champagne of Canadian beers back then, as far as I remember. I also used to like "Molson Special Dry" for a while. I remember when it was a brand new offering from them. That was probably 35 years ago! LOL Did you ever taste this stuff? I wonder if it's any good. I bet it's not, but it's worth buying for the can as a keepsake.
  11. Show them "The Exorcist" instead. I somehow snuck in a viewing of that movie when I was like 7 or 8 years old, one night when my parents were out for the evening and my older sister was supposed to be watching me. The movie scared me so thoroughly, I genuinely had trouble sleeping for a week afterward. I still say that movie is creepy as hell! Reminds me of "The Shining" in that both movies are genuinely frightening at various times. The answer is "YES". Every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
  12. His name reminds me of Magnum PI and Higgins' two Dobermans: Zeus and Apollo, which I always thought were cool names for dogs.
  13. This news takes me by surprise, as does the revelation that he was 61 years old! Thought he was much younger than that. Cancer seems to get everyone in the end. RIP!
  14. Do you like watching football? I don't particularly like any of the 3 guys currently on the broadcast, but suggesting it is "unwatchable" is ridiculous. If anything, the level of commercials including commercials they are now doing without bothering to go to a commercial break make the games unwatchable! But that's been a problem for 30 years.
  15. If you watch for it, you will see Allen doing the "calm down" gesture with both arms to the fans all the time. And sure, every home crowd should be quiet when their O is on the field.
  16. I love how folks rush to defend Josh's terrible fumbling habit focusing on other issues instead. Two wrongs don't make a right! The fumbling wasn't why we lost yesterday, and it may never keep us out of a Super Bowl appearance...but it's still a huge problem and should have been cleaned up by now! I can't believe the way he continues to grip the ball with 1 hand and wave it around with an outstretched arm as he scrambles...that crap should have been coached out of him a LONG time ago... It needs to get cleaned up! But much more importantly, he needs to consistently read defenses and throw the ball accurately. It would also help tremendously if he could learn to complete a deep pass--something he is literally incapable of doing most of the time.
  17. The Bills were not just beaten by KC twice last year, we were outclassed. Unless that changes in week 5, we don't need to worry about a Super Bowl berth. If the road doesn't literally go through KC the city this year, it will go through KC the team, who is going to be playing in the AFC championship game again this year almost certainly. If you can't compete with them, why bother with various SB scenarios? You can see why Week 5 is, for me, by far, the most anticipated game of the season.
  18. I would take a Super Bowl win any way we can get one, and feel good about it. All it takes is 1 championship to alter who you are as a fan forever.
  19. I watched the entire Fish vs. Pats game yesterday and agree with you. Mac Jones had an excellent game for his first ever start. Tua is still flawed IMO but not as bad as Bills fans paint him. We will have tough games against both of these teams, 4 times this year. We may win all four of them! But they won't be easy!
  20. All kidding aside, I seem to like Trubisky as an improvement at the backup QB position. He plays a similar style to Josh and our offense should be able to transition seamlessly if Josh goes down and Mitch has to play for a few plays, a few quarters, or a game or 2. Wouldn't want to see him play anymore than that, however!
  21. For some reason, Bills fans don't want to talk about Josh Allen's terrible performance yesterday. It all comes down to the QB, on all teams, in all games, every weekend. It's not that hard to figure out. If Josh plays like he did a few seasons ago, we'll be a fringe wildcard team. If he plays consistently like he did last year, we'll be a force to reckon with with and have a deep playoff push again. Keep your eye on Josh. Who is he? We keep finding out 1 week at a time.
  22. This is classic Chicago Bears. I can't remember the last time they provided the viewer with an exciting game on TV. All their games look the same.
  23. He got there WAY early! "The hope was that the offense [Chicago] was going to explode here in the first half of this game and it has not." -Cris Collinsworth LOL! Such dry understatement.
  24. Here we have a photo of the correct Kelly Stafford.
