My "second team" has historically been the 49ers, going back to when they had exciting fun to watch teams in the '80s and '90s. That whole thing kind of died a long time ago, though, to be honest. I have always liked Green Bay and the whole thing they have going there; reminds me of Buffalo in many ways.

The story of this schedule seems to be how back-heavy it is with the Patriots. We play them both times way late in the season. If NE is a good team this year, that will be an interesting dynamic to watch. If they are bad or mediocre, it won't matter at all. Keep an eye on NE and see what they are doing!

UPL is still a way's away from being ready for the NHL. Way too early to declare his career over though. I would like to see us move on from Ullmark and get a better No. 1 goalie if we can. This team hasn't had sound goaltending in a while now.

59 is way too young to go! I guess we still don't know the cause of death.

There was a time when we had a very solid rivalry going with Ottawa and it was genuinely fun to anticipate games with them. Sadly, that is long over, and the only rivalry we have with them NOW is seeing who is the worst franchise in the NHL. Buffalo and Ottawa are *easily* the two worst franchises in the league right now. Been that way for some years.

What was your worst take ever?

Me too and I'll gladly admit to it every time. At that time, it was the right call. The fact that it didn't work out that way is neither here nor there. It's also worth noting there was a thread here, about a week before that draft, that said "Rumor, Cleveland is going to take Josh Allen with the No. 1 overall pick." That thread is FILLLED WITH EVERYONE attacking Josh Allen and making jokes about how dumb Cleveland is. Now the same posters are the biggest Allen supporters. LOL -
If you're suggesting that adding solid covering DBs to the defense is how you get pressure to the QB in the modern NFL, you'd be right. People love the big, dramatic, athletic, QB pounding DE with lots of sacks. How much impact does such a player have on most plays of most games? Very little, is the answer.

A LAMP , LITE STORY TO EASE TENSIONS OF FINAL DRAFT DAY !
Nextmanup replied to DrPJax's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I live in Palm Beach County, in SE Fl. I see Bills stuff constantly, including on the beach at places like Juno Beach. LOL To the OP: Good story nonetheless! (Note to self: wear Bills cap while shopping at Target) -
TRADE DOWN for more picks. Emphasis on Offense, not defense. Our problems don't lie with defense. They lie with our offense not being lethal enough, as good as it is. The path to the Super Bowl is to make a team that will get its 30 points no matter who they play or when, and then the other team has to come up with 31 if they want to win. Those are the teams that do all the winning, with a few exceptions over the last 30 years.

Peter King Mock- Bills take Etienne
Nextmanup replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watch how many times a Diggs catch ends by him simply going to the turf wrapped up in a ball to protect himself, sort of in a fetal position. He doest that constantly, because he is constantly quickly caught by much faster defenders and he just wisely goes down to protect himself, knowing the play is basically over and he's not going to get much more yardage. He was statistically just about the best WR in the GAME last year and I'll take him just the way he is, but he doesn't have any speed at all. We definitely need more raw speed threats all over the lineup, if we can get them! Can't have too much speed, ever. -

The drought era Bills' organizational approach to the QB position wasn't just bad, it was criminal! Shockingly mismanaged for decades. And we weren't alone! I feel like just now teams are FINALLY starting to catch on you have NOTHING without a QB! NOTHING! -
Call your shot: Who will the Bills pick in the 1st round?
Nextmanup replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's by far the smartest way to go; though ironically I think a lot of Bills fans would be upset if we do it. -
I'm always amazed to learn that fans like you exist! I'm curious why in the world you became a Bills fan.

Beane is a lot smarter than moving UP to craft a RB in the first round! At least I sure as hell hope he is!- 413 replies

Gronk Sets World Record with 600 Foot Catch
Nextmanup replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no doubt the ball reached terminal velocity, and that it is not an impressively high number. But that isn't what makes the catch impressive IMO. A football is not an ideally designed aerodynamic object and I assume it was just dropped laterally, with no spin. It would almost certainly have been darting and moving around like a knuckle ball on the wind, coming down from the equivalent of a 60 story balcony. I'm surprised Gronk could judge where to be standing and keep up with the jerky movements of the ball in order to catch it, along with whatever speed it was traveling at as well. I'm guessing it was like 60 or 70 mph tops. So not "slow" exactly, but the raw speed is not the impressive part of the catch. -

Let's not forget Anne Murray! On a more serious note, #1 for me is RUSH and they are about 10,000 slots better than whoever you have on your list at number 2. People will be listening to, commenting on, and enjoying Rush's music forever. PS: Give a shout out to "INWARD EYE" who wrote the song "VANCOUVER WOH-OH-OH-OH" from the recent Vancouver olympic games. That was one of the better mindless energy songs of that type I have ever heard. Great energy and momentum and it was very easy for the crowd to sing along and get into it. It is a sin that the song was not adopted as the goal song by the Vancouver Canucks!
