  1. On the contrary, I find this unfathomable that it could ever happen even once. The only way this is possible is utter stupidity or inattention to detail. If proper procedures are followed, it should be IMPOSSIBLE to shoot someone on a movie set with a prop gun. (I probably sound like a gun nut. I don't own any firearms, but I have a huge interest in military history and as a general rule, soldiers don't kill each other by "accident," despite everyone having live firearms all over the place.) As Jesse Ventura (ex-Navy frogman, precursor to the SEALs, with combat duty in 'Nam) said in reaction to Dick Cheney shooting his buddy in the face, "There is no such thing as an 'accident'. If you do this sort of thing it's because you don't know what the hell you are doing." EDIT: I don't place blame at Baldwin's feet; it's with whoever is in charge of the guns on set, obviously.
  2. "Four Hours at the Capitol" on HBO is a good documentary worth watching. Has tons of footage that the news did not show. After watching the documentary, it seems like a miracle the whole thing did not turn into a gunfight with hundreds and hundreds of deaths.
  3. I hate Vrabel! He's a cheating scumbag. If he had been a Bill, I probably would love him.
  4. I am sorry to hear this news. Mike Bossy is, without a doubt, one of the top 3 or 4 all time best "finishers." Talk about a sniper who had a 6th sense for putting the puck in the net. He was a freak of goal scoring!
  5. Alex Mogilny used to smoke...didn't slow him down much on the ice, did it? In the very early '90s, I was in a bar with some buddies, downtown, immediately following a Sabres vs. Flames game at the old Aud. At least half the Flames team was at and around the bar. I always remember being amazed that little Theo Fleury (who could fly) and Mike Vernon (excellent goalie) were smoking at the bar! I was like "I can't believe that!" My buddies and I got the autograph of tough guy Craig Berube on a cocktail napkin. He was a super nice guy. My one buddy approached another though guy Paul Kruse (who had gotten in a fight that night) and said "Hey man, great fight!" He was immediately friendly to us, talkative, and I think he was pleasantly surprised that someone knew who he was. Good times!
  6. It's not the ONLY path to the Super Bowl, but if you can get that #1 seed, it is by far the preferred path! A Super Bowl is BY FAR the easiest championship to win in N. American sports....especially if you are the No. 1 seed! You get the first week off, play all games at home, and with 2 measly wins in a row, you are in the big dance! In contrast, winning a Stanley Cup is nearly impossible!
  7. The fact of the matter is that draft misses are common, across the entire league. The so called "experts" making the selections aren't nearly as effective as they should be.
  8. It's funny, but fans have been screaming out prevent defenses, urging their team NOT to do it, for at least 30 years. And yet the teams continue to do it. Another thing that is interesting how "enough time to score" has changed over the years. 30 years ago, 2:00 might have been questionable...."Oh Gee, they only have 2 minutes to go 80 yards. Not sure they can do it!" Now, if you have like 30-40 seconds you have enough time, or so it seems. It helps that you don't have to get as far down the field (for a FG attempt) with the increased range of kickers across the league.
  9. I thought this loss was extremely frustrating and it really hurt! We were in a golden position to win the game and had to execute, simple as that. And we failed to do it. Simple as that. It's tough to take! Onto the next one though.
  10. This game reminds me a ton of Super Bowl XXV against the Giants in 1991. It never felt like we really got into a groove and were able to do our thing. We also ended up losing, despite being the better team. It's weird how similar the 2 games felt.
  11. Particularly if it's the QB. There are very few teams in the league, if any, which can absorb a QB going down and still save the season. If it's more than a few games, forget it!
  12. I've been very happy with Sanders this season and he's an improvement over Brown for sure.
  13. No next K for Oliver. Overall, he's been a disappointment.
  14. Yes, many Bills fans have a bias towards Edmunds. That mysterious "some reason" you are searching for is that he isn't a very good linebacker. McDermott likes him due to his great speed and the way he fits into what we are trying to do on defense, which places a huge emphasis on speed and pass coverage ability. My biggest complaint with Edmunds is his lack of football IQ or instinct. He is often 1 step late and that's all it takes at this level to allow a huge play. He is also easily (IMO) pushed off the play; he has trouble shedding blocks and it has been that way since Day 1; it hasn't improved.
  15. Jim Brown seems like a better analogy. Size, power, speed. Maybe Bo Jackson to an extent as well.
  16. Totally disagree. Josh missed converting on that play only once when the snap was fumbled (bad snap). Josh sneaking 6 inches forward is virtually a guarantee, except for when it isn't. When something disappointing like that happens, people IMMEDIATELY want to start BLAMING someone or some thing. The reality is going for it on 4th down was TOTALLY the right call; the play call was just fine and it should have worked. But it didn't. Move forward and be very grateful that didn't involve our season ending. There's no blame to spread here! It just didn't work.
  17. They are saying today he will not miss much time and may even play in our next game against Miami.
  18. Just remember, the number announced is ticket sales, not bodies in the building. The real number was a bit over 6,000 as far as I can determine. These "announced" numbers are basically telling you how many season ticket holders there are, more or less. On a positive note, if the team plays this way every game and sticks around a playoff position in the standings, the word will grow that they are worth watching again, and crowds will return.
  19. His knee was also down on about the 1 yard line, as it almost always in on that type of play, and then it all becomes a question of timing. Where was the ball in space at the moment the knee went down, etc. I felt it all didn't work in our favor on that play.
  20. This loss was really tough to take, but be thankful this was NOT a playoff game and it didn't end our season. It's only week 6. We still have a ridiculously easy schedule and a really good team. We should be looking strong at the end of the year, and losses of this type hopefully make the team better come playoff time, as we learn from mistakes made. In your opinion, what percentage of the crowd was pro Bills?
  21. My favorite EVOO is Frantoia, from Sicily. The stuff is awesome.
  22. EFFORT? You think the Bills just didn't bother trying their hardest tonight?
  23. After the game, I was genuinely wondering if a waiver pick up or poaching someone off a practice squad would actually improve our starting 5. Feliciano is horrible, though it's unfair to single him out.
  24. Win Probability going for it on 4th down: 63% Win probability kicking the FG and playing for OT: 42% As I said above, I'm thrilled McDermott and his staff has grown to the point where they did this tonight. They have gotten a lot better over time.
  25. They gave up the most sacks in the league so far! 20 of them! Our lack of pressure all night was disappointing.
