  1. no initial reaction. just wait and see. same way i felt about drafting allen and trading for Diggs. i'll admit to being dumb enough to get excited for the rex hire back in the day. my thoughts on such matters should not be respected!
  2. I would expect an initial drop off, but they will get it together, and eventually improve on where they are now. It will be a harder road for Daboll without Allen and company than vice versa.
  3. yup. they made the right play moving on from him for that kind of money, and he made the right move to take the $$. But he was great to have around last year.
  4. watson is a freaking wizard. that guy scares me as much as anybody. hope they mess up this coach hiring!
  5. WOW. im not a twitter/instagram guy. had no idea what a fella that guy is. TREMENDOUS! huge fan just created.
  6. solid post. he's in my good graces now, but this is what had me so infuriated the first half of the season. im not sure if he's cleaned any of that up, if he's had less opportunities in those situations, or if we've just been playing so well that his mistakes aren't noticed. but i haven't noticed much the last month +. I hope it's because he's actually kicking better, but I haven't looked at the analytics.
  7. loved to see that coffin corner kick today. that has not been his specialty. he is progressing. I'll eat crow on him and bass. I was calling for both of their heads around the midseason mark.
  8. Allen has a better ceiling. His numbers are better, but we all know why. Jim Kelly was a top 3 qb in the NFL for at least a couple seasons. Allen needs to do it a couple more times. I believe he will pass Kelly. But he hasn't yet. was Jim Kelly the best qb in the NFL in 1991?
  9. yup. doesn't seem to have the humility as mike vick eventually did. that is what he needs to try to be at this point.
  10. There are QBs who come from very pro style college offenses, led by very high level play callers and coaches. So sure, those guys have a leg up. For whatever reason, people want to ignore the circumstances Josh Allen came from.
  11. People would be absolutely stunned to look at the stats of those two. John Elway a bit as well.
  12. Ben is old and banged up. His body AND arm need the rest, and Tomlin knows the odds are in favor of the bills winning anyway. That factors in huge. We should play guys who feel good, and rest anybody who is banged up. keep the ball rolling.
  13. Marvin Lewis. I think he's a guy who can turn a team around. But he can't finish the job.
  14. i have been as down on bass and Bojo as much as anybody. I have been really impressed with both the past few weeks. long field goals, consistent. Huge punts. punts inside the 10, etc.
  15. I'd love it because we're the better team. I'd hate it because of the extra stress it would bring to the game. The Pats, and now Brady and the Bucs, doing well stresses me out almost as much as the bills playing poorly. the PTSD is real.
  16. good stuff. i have to say i am really pleased with myself on how i stayed optimistic about defense when we were only 5 or 6 games into the season. optimism in the face of mediocrity is not my typical MO. Just knowing we had so many pieces from defenses that were highly ranked before and knowing we've had a coach that knows how to put it all together. No preseason hurt. Losing a couple guys hurt. But the best will always figure it out. I have seen so many patriots teams that didn't look good on defense until the end of the year and playoffs. McD (props to frazier as well) is a legit defensive mind. Trust the process.
  17. There are different types of leaders. Brady can get away with getting in a guy's face and getting after them about putting in work because he is the hardest working guy on the team. If Kyler is the hardest working guy on the team, he will be okay.
  18. i love collinsworth. very polarizing guy. i have this conversation with friends any time he is on. I also like Michaels, but Tirico has a very good rep himself. i have not seen him call many games, personally.
  19. im not sold on him as a head coach. im not even certain he's a great o coordinator. but i wouldn't give him up. the devil you know, all.
  20. this is probably wishful thinking. head coaching opps might be once in a lifetime. you are only one terrible season away from no longer being considered a shining candidate. Maybe he doesn't leave for a sh!t job like the Jets or Detroit, but he will leave if given the chance at a promising opportunity. i think
  21. i believe he decided to stammer about how it was because the bucs were down so much, so was forgivable to be over aggressive in a bad spot. i think i said aftet that play that Brady had just pulled a Josh Allen. good to see that brilliant vets make the same really dumb mistakes as our guy.
  22. the lack of adjustments when the opposition stifles our passing game worries me. Maybe im being too picky. it just seems there are too many long stretches where we can't do anything at all.
  23. He does a good job running the overall program. as long as he brings in talented to guys to delegate to, I feel good. I'm not really sold on Daboll though. I think we could go to the next level with the RIGHT change. It shouldn't happen until he leaves for greener pastures though.
