  1. the chiefs have a system that works. I always thought they would be severely weakened when they lost the threat of having the fastest open field WR in the league, but they didn't seem to miss him much once they got moving. I don't know what our issue is, but we do not fire on all cylinders the way KC does. There are just too many problems to start pointing fingers and imagine we are solving problems. I give up. Expectations were just higher than we were worth this year. Maybe next year will be more fun coming from the position of a dog.
  2. he's not getting any more than low 30s. should be 15-20 maybe. he is replacement level for anybody but the giants, where he has a little more value because he knows the system.
  3. hard to tell what our passing game is capable of with this terrible o-line. as it is, we schemed like doo doo to work around that weakness, and the receivers certainly did not pick up the slack
  4. once we get to the playoffs, it appears we have either all replacement level players on D, or a terrible scheme. Right now we might as well be lighting money on fire.
  5. BUT WE ARE SPENDING ALL OF OUR MONEY AND DRAFT CAPITAL ON DEFENSE!
  6. McDermott should just be de facto d coordinator/head coach. can hire a new d coordinator just for that fresh set of eyes and ears. bring in an o coordinator with full autonomy. I don't know who that can be. A great coordinator who has shown to be a failed head coach would be nice. somebody who we know isn't going anywhere. I have no idea who that is or if it exists.
  7. so i guess we need to ask ourselves why a mediocre team like baltimore can almost beat them while we get rolled by them. And it wasn't just a bad day. The MNF game started out exactly the same. We have matchup problems with them, players and/or scheme, and they aren't going anywhere. so we need to change in a big way.
  8. It is McD's defense. Im not sure if getting rid of frazier will help, but I KNOW that Frazier and Mcdermott together does not work. Have to take a chance with somebody else. Need a fresh set of eyes and ears in the building, if nothing else.
  9. Tom Moore was Peyton's o coordinator his whole time in Indy. Peyton of course had a to of influence himself. very possibly more than any player ever. Indy was finally able to get over the hump because their defense gelled together towards the end of that season. Bob Sanders was finally healthy, and they had Mathis and Freeney who could get to the qb at will when the moment called for it.
  10. and the music city miracle. not more, but close to the same.
  11. Last year broke my heart. This was not unexpected. Despite all the people quoting stats from last year to this year, we are not as good as we were then. We have not show the ability to dominate in over three months. we are capable of beating any team on any given sunday, but the stars would really have to have been aligned for us to take it all the way.
  12. very debatable. there are things brees did a lot better than josh, but there A LOT that josh does that brees couldn't even dream about.
  13. Reich seems like a good idea. BUt i have to wonder how much of the colts success was due to him vs sirianni. that playoff game vs them was another example where we were outcoached, but Josh won us the ballgame.
  14. there aren't any easy answers, but we can't put our heads in the sand and say we are okay because of 13-3. People have pointed out for weeks how Minnesota is so lucky to have so many wins, but we had the same kind of season. we looked really good in perhaps 3 games this season.
  15. right now, everybody on defense seems replacement level. we can't give a huge contract to anybody. both our coordinators need to go, but it's not gonna happen. i don't know what to say. maybe next year will be better if we are lucky enough to have every player complete the year with perfect health.
  16. Sirianni also a local who was not a bills fan. he grew up bleeding black and yellow.
  17. no way he should be coach of the year over sirianni.
  18. Cincinnati Chili is second only to pizza as the love of my life. GO BILLS!
  19. i've said it in the edmunds threads and I'll say it again. Love all these guys, and I trust Beane's logic and reasoning to make the best decisions for our team. If we can afford his market value for what he brings to us on the field and in the locker room, he will be back. if not, i genuinely wish him the best on his next stop.
  20. Von Miller was supposed to be our equalizer against teams like this. we don't have him. we are in trouble. we can win, but they are going to make our life hell.
  21. He is probably worth more to our defense, and maybe a couple others than anybody else. Losing him will be felt. Hope they can figure it out. Either way, he will always be royalty to this fan base.
  22. we need a Tom moore who will just be there for 100 years in a row.
  23. the thing with his INTs are that most are not coming because of some sort of gunslinger mentality. They're not from throwing into tight coverage or making a stupid throw while on the run. At least half of them just went to a spot where he just didn't see a defender or perhaps he had anticipated his receivers being in a different spot. They are mistakes I hadn't noticed him making in the past. Maybe he just needs more reps and better chemistry with current set of receivers. Not hard to envision josh throwing 5 or 6 less INTs next season.
  24. the idea of halftime adjustments is probably overblown, but given 15 minutes and the ability for these guys (head, coordinators, players) to have a moment to share a room for a minute or two, the opportunity for slightly better adjustments is probably there.
  25. Those guys from Miami are old as hell. Good for them if it gives them something too look forward to as 75-80 year old men.
