Take a deep breath and reevaluate after today
GreggTX replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's easy. We're rebuilding. Help for the offense will arrive next year. Bills fans, you can either accept it or whine and cry. Your choice. -
I wonder what he might accomplish if we didn't have both the worst receivers and OL along with a rookie QB. In the meantime, I'm not going to cry like a baby. We're rebuilding.

I'd do a lot of short to medium passes. Get the ball out quickly. Also, help the OT's by chipping on Watt and Clowney. Leave backs and TE's in occasionally too for protection. Run between the tackles to set up play action. Maybe a bigger dose of Ivory than usual. Also, Groy is a better pass blocker, but Bodine is a better run blocker with good strength. Start Bodine. I hope Miller can go. He just played his best game in a while against the Titans. Mills will be blocking Watt who is much stronger. He will need help on a high percentage of plays. Go for deep passes on 2nd and short. Run some screens with Shady. Get Clay the ball unless Mathieu is shadowing him all day.

We all know that our own OL is a wreck, but Houston's 2 starting OT's are playing very poorly right now. Look for Hughes and Lawson to have big games on Sunday. The problem for Buffalo will be the Houston run defense. They will have to rely on Allen and weak receiving corps to get anything done. Fortunately, The Texans' secondary is riddled with injuries, so maybe Allen can put together a solid game. Then again, Mills will be blocking JJ Watt. That scares me.

Someone needs to be fired over Mahomes right now.
GreggTX replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That guy Whaley is still hanging around? Or perhaps they should just fire someone at random just to let Whaley know they didn't like his trade out of that 10th pick? How about we just hire someone so we can turn right around and fire him. -
10 Picks 2019 draft and 3rd highest available cap space.
GreggTX replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sometimes yes. Sometimes no. It really just depends on the player(s) in question, the picks being dealt or received and the team's needs. Doug Whaley drafted Zay Jones and Nathan Peterman. The rest are Beane acquisitions. -
True, but when you think about it, NFL players are actually playing games only 16 hours a year, not including playoffs or preseason. Sometimes a 'trend' like this doesn't show up in such a short amount of time. If you employ a technique in baseball to increase the number of double plays you produce, then that will show up because you're actually playing more than 10 times as long, so even a small advantage will turn up eventually.

Priority: Develop Allen or Win Ugly?
GreggTX replied to Berky1010's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who says we'll win anything with a journyman at QB? -
He had a good game. He was motivated. He's still an average player until he can string a few games like this together. I hope so.
-
T White. He gave up 49 yards on 4 ereceptions to Davis who had 22 catches in his last 2 games. Shady and Ivory get honorable mention. The run game wasn't great, but it was effective when we needed it. Ivory was clutch. Shady had 108 yards from scrimmage. Milano also deserves mention just because he's always coming up with big plays each game it seems like.

Broken Pass Protections - Why? What's the Fix?
GreggTX replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The fix is an infux of talent in 2019. -
Cut??? I'm sure they could get a decent pick for him. Why just cut him and get nothing? I agree with your 1st point though. He can't single handedly make up for a team that has no one else at TE or WR worth mentioning.
-
Let's not pretend that Clay is terrible. He's better than most starting TE's, but far from elite. Most of the money in his contract was up front, so it makes no sense to trade him now because there is nothing behind him. We'd be taking a big step backwards. Try putting some talent around him and see how that goes.

Predict the Score: Titans at Bills
GreggTX replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills in a squeaker, 16 - 13. Allen still looks way too raw and still has several throws way off target, but the D plays well and Allen does just enough. T Johnson gets his 1st NFL pick and T White snags one too. Marriota pads his stats late in the game, but can't get it done. Bills win on a late TD (Allen - Holmes). Shady finally puts together a solid game as a runner and receiver. Allen scrambles for a couple 1st downs and throws no picks. -
Tre White is the Best Player On the Bills Now

It's not Micah Hyde? -
Harrison Phillips - Why Does Joe B Rate Him So Well?
GreggTX replied to GreatComeback's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anything in the mid 70's or lower is a weak spot. On D that includes all CB's other than TW, all backups, all LB's and Lotulelei. At least they are still all below 80.Kyle is an 80 and dropping. T Murphy is an 81. Hyde, Poyer and White are also dropping, but still OK. Hyde has dropped from 92 to 91 and is the only 90+ player on the roster. Shady has dropped 90 to 88 and Ivory has dropped 80 to 79. Lotulelei has come up 75 to 76. Our starting OL is 77, 75, 68, 73, 71. That's really bad. Groy(68) shouldn't even be on an NFL roster and Bodine is also a 68. Mills is the 71. Ducasse is the 75. Miller is 73. -

Harrison Phillips - Why Does Joe B Rate Him So Well?
GreggTX replied to GreatComeback's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Harry's Madden Rating has gone from 70 overall to 72 since opening day. T Johnson has also seen a +2 jump (68 --> 70).Meanwhile, our 2 first rounders have both dropped a point. Allen is now a 73 and Edmunds is a 74. K Benjaman has had the biggest drop from 84 down to 81. Hughes and Lorenzo have been bumped up by +2 (85 & 80, respectively). Others that have dropped by -2 are K Williams (80) & J Poyer (85). The OL has dropped slightly, but was very poorly rated to begin with. Dawkins, on the other hand, has received a +1 boost(78). -
Who? "Anybody"? That's who we have now. There's nothing out there until the next FA period starts.
