  1. Agreed. The Bills have a very good line coach. They need a few more players to complete the line, but I dont think technique was the issue.
  2. If he is only open to going to the Jets, Dolphins, and Panthers as reports suggest, its the only place that makes sense for the Texans. You cannot cannot trade him within the conference.
  3. Edmunds is 100% a guy you used the 5th year option on. As the 16th overall pick his 5th year option is lower than someone who was picked in the top ten. So essentially you get to pay him an average of players at his position from 3rd-25th. Essentially its a one year deal for $10 million as it currently stands. So before you have to decide to give him a long term deal you can see him for two more years. I think thats a must for a guy like Tremaine because by that time you wont have the built in he is still so young excuse everyone uses for him. While he will still only be 24 or 25 years old, you've seen five years of football from him.
  4. I think the depth of this year's draft class will impact free agent spending more than it would other years. For instance, Daryl Williams would be a no brainer resigning if it wasnt for the down cap. But with this years class so deep at tackle, the Bills will probably be more prone to offer him a contract with less money in the first year. If he doesnt take it, they move on faster than they would in other years. Fully expect Lee Smith, Vernon Butler, Quinton Jefferson and Mario Addison to be cut/retire. That said, the Bills probably only have enough money to sign one of their bigger free agents, and then bring in a 9-12 million dollar a year pass rusher from outside in free agency.
  5. They are going to do it this offseason. Beane has shown that he re-ups players he believes are cornerstones of the team in the offseason leading up to their third year. I imagine his cap hit will be similar this year, with a raise on par with the 5th year option next year. I wouldnt expect the big money to hit until 2023.
  6. I agree with you. They looked like a different team last night. The passing was more crisp, less sloppy and the urgency of the skating was a lot different. The problem is they still lost. The Sabres have a massive problem and its culture based. Their top five salaried players, aside from Reinhart, are essentially playing like 3rd and 4th line players. Eichel is a tremendous talent, but his shot percentage is astronomically low, to the point where I'd rather see Lazar on the ice. At the end of this season the Pegulas need to take a hard look at Krueger and decide if he is going to be the Coach for the forseeable future, if so they need to start making tough decisions about the roster. They cant keep paying Eichel, Skinner and Okposo what they do with the limited return in Krueger's system. If they bring someone else in they need to ask those same players if they really care about being a Sabre. There is too little accountability on the players for being so awful for so long.
  7. It's amazing how often you can screw up when you are 6'7 350 and can lift a car over your head.
  8. Do these teams actually check the player's twitters before they draft them? They drafted this guy and his twitter name is LayZay. No way am I drafting a guy with character issues who named himself LayZay.
  9. He did add from a size and skill standpoint he is perfect for the Bills defense. Just depends on if the Bills think he can change in their program. I am sure the front office has a pretty solid risk analysis system to figure things like that out.
  10. Joe Marino brought him up on his Podcast a few weeks back. He said beyond what is already known about Phillips character, he has heard more from insiders, and from what he has heard he doesnt think Phillips fits the type of player the Bills would want in their locker room.
  11. I agree with you there. I think Klein is strictly a SLB.
  12. But does Kirksey still have the athleticism? He is going to be near his career cliff when the season starts at 29. WLB is a pretty important role in the Bills defense to try and just plug a once good player into. With the amount of things McDermott and Frazier ask the WLB to do in this defense I'd really prefer them to find someone a bit younger. Kirksey had one good season in a 4-3 OLB role, otherwise he has been a 3-4 ILB. He is oft injured, and really has been a below average player for three years now. If we were talking about a SLB who was going to be on the field sparingly I'd be fine with kicking the tires on the guy. I'd honestly even be ok signing him to a very low one year contract to split time with a rookie, but I dont think he is the guy you want playing a majority of the snaps at this point in his career.
  13. Asking the Lord to guide the surgeons hands and get Pinto ready for a speedy recovery!
  14. Between two pieces of bread?
  15. Would be very happy if we came away with something like this.
  16. So so sick of the Dolphins. Cannot wait until this guy gets traded so we can move on from this stuff.
  17. He was when he was playing middle linebacker for the Browns. I dont see him as a legit option to fill Milano's shoes.
  18. True. Gone are the days of Ty Sambrailo using the Bills to squeeze the Falcons.
  19. I dont believe it does. But the franchise tag for Milano is somewhere north of 15 million dollars. No way the Bills can swing that, nor should they. He is a good football player but those contract estimates that have him in the 14 milllion dollar range are absolutely bloated. Given his inability to stay on the field, I wouldnt pay him a penny over 10, and even that is a bit of an overpay.
  20. One player to watch who would be a good replacement for Milano, at about half is price, is Nicholas Morrow from the Raiders. If the Bills cant find someone in the draft, I think he is a player who can come in and do some of the same things Milano can.
  21. Last I saw he was writing for TV and Movies only. Had a deal with Cinemax. Agree on the Hornby comparison, although I think Hornby's character development was a bit better, even if I didnt like the overall work more. As much as I love Tropper, I think he was a bit of a one trick pony and the books got less exciting because you could kind of see where they were going having read his other titles.
  22. Was a big beat guy as a teenager. Burroughs, Ginsberg, Kerouac etc. Burroughs was by far my favorite though. After that it was Chuck Palahniuk. Got into Herman Hesse big time in my mid twenties, love Demian. Mid-blowing stuff. But to this day nothing touches Fitzgerald. I was an English Lit major in college, and worked at Borders while in so books were pretty much my life until recently. Will Christopher Baer has a series called the Phineas Poe Trilogy for people who are into dark mysteries, Kiss Me Judas, Hells Half Acre, and A Penny Dreadful. Also suggest Jonathan Tropper: This is Where I Leave You, One Last Thing Before I Go Havent read as much recently but here are a few I've really enjoyed over the last couple years. Tell the Wolves I'm Home- Brunt, Carol Rifka The Absolutist- Boyne, John When Breath Becomes Air- Kalanithi, Paul Just finished Mike Birbiglia's new book on being a first time father New One. Not a bad fast read if you enjoy books by overly neurotic comics.
  23. I recall the Bills courting Boston in 2017. The story was it came down to LAC and Buffalo, and God told him to choose the Chargers. Still a guy I would consider as a backup.
  24. I feel the same way I do about Joe Douglas as I do Brian Flores. To quote Buddy Nix "A lot of people want to tell you about the labor pains. I say show me the baby."
