  1. Phillips and Lawson got essentially the same deal. Glad they got paid, also glad it wasnt here.
  2. Was a very good college linebacker. A bit limited athletically, but will provide depth at ILB and help the special teams.
  3. Paralysis by analysis. They get so stuck in the weeds, they cant see the forest through the trees.
  4. I am glad the guy has long speed, but my favorite thing about this highlight reel is the space he creates on underneath routes. Helps if Josh is less than accurate.
  5. They would have had to give up a 2nd or 3rd to move up for Jeudy or Ruggs III. I tend to forget we are picking at #22.
  6. Since they started signing former Panthers they've made the playoffs 66% percent of the time. I dont see what the issue is with stocking your roster with players you already know will show up for work, work hard, and play for you on decent contracts? Another plus, they dont have to spend all offseason teaching them a new scheme. Buffalo isn't the only teams that signs players they are familiar with.
  7. Is this the "not going how I planned so my agent asked me to stir up something out of nothing on social media" post? Also known as the Lev Bell 2019 Post
  8. Agree. They have to be patient and smart if they want to resign their core players. Much rather keep guys like Dawkins, Milano, White, and Poyer than get into a bidding war for Clowney. Dance with who brought you.
  9. I think they still could. They most likely want to wait a few days and see what the market is then. Every day they wait the money goes down.
  10. What I am trying to say is they wouldnt have had 90 million dollars if they didnt have players on rookie contracts. They weren't thrifty or magical today, they spent 29 million dollars on three guys. Just agree to disagree. When the Browns go to resign Garrett, Mayfield, Chubb, Hunt, Beckham or whoever else in two to three years they wont have the same amount of money because they are spending. In the case of Hooper the money they spent was idiotic.
  11. Because outside of maybe four guys they have a ton of players on rookie contracts and Vernon is already as good as gone. They aren't structuring contracts, they are creating "space" today they are taking advantage of having a lot of rookie contracts. And for the players like Vernon and OBJ, they acquired their contracts they didnt "structure them." Forget it man, youre the expert. You're right the Cap really isnt a thing.
  12. On a roster that is not nearly as deep as everyone thinks. They didn't STRUCTURE those rookie contracts in some sort of magic, they paid the rookies what they were slotted in at. They have money because they havent had to resign their own players yet. When its time to do that, they can structure those contracts anyway they want, they wont be able to keep everyone.
  13. I feel the same way about Clowney. But with the Bills letting Shaq move on, and having the money they do, I am starting to get a weird feeling they may be in on him after all.
  14. Its not just how they structured contractss. They have space because outside of Tretter, Richardson, Vernon, Landry and Beckham they have a ton of players on their rookie contracts. The Browns have a ton of space because when Sashi Brown was running the team they got rid of bloated contracts and stocked up on draft picks. By the time they have to pay Myles Garrett and Baker Mayfield, buys like Vernon and Beckham will be gone. The Cap is still the Cap, you cant pay everyone at once. But if you are smart enough to have some stars on rookie deals, and others on deals that expire or are through guaranteed money before those rookie deals are up they can coexist. It helps that the Browns have continually picked in the top ten for years.
  15. With them not signing Shaq, I think you're right. I think they'll be in on Clowney.
  16. Just because its not being reported doesnt mean it isnt happening. Deals can be final until Wednesday anyways.
  17. Waiting for the West Coast teams to finish lunch so they can get moving again.
  18. I would love this signing. Probably in the range of what Tevin Coleman got last year, maybe just a touch less. Fair value is probably in the 4 million dollar per year range. 2yr/8million would be a good contract for Howard. Drake is going to be one of the top paid running backs in the league before its said and done.
  19. It was also accurate. Now they seem intent on letting Shaq hit free agency they will have money to play with. Lets see what they do with it.
