We should have been a playoff team the last 2 years. Rex ruined the defense. Love what I have seen from McD so far. Can't see us having the same issues with stupid penalties, late substitutions and poor clock management. Watkins healthy, Ragland back, great draft class- we gonna shock the world.

Pats fans bug me, but that's part of being king of the hill. Personally, it's not my thing. When the Bills were on top, I didn't give a thought to teams on the bottom. Though if the Pats get there again, I'll probably find some joy in it.

If that's the case, I'm more okay with this. I love how this draft was handled. At minimum, McD is reliable.

I agree. They picked up Yates because Jones is still too unpolished to be #2. I think Peterman alleviates that concern and will likely be the backup come September. No reason to keep Yates in that scenario.

Both Brady and Eli came into the league with fairly weak arms. That's a lot of superbowls. Not that it isn't an important trait, but definitely overrated.

More than anything, this team has lacked leadership. I have no problem whatsoever with his approach. Players like White set a high bar, and it can be infectious.

How can anyone not be exited about this pick? Worst that happens is that a 5th rounder doesn't pan out. All I've heard from pundits is that he's a potential steal who shouldn't have dropped so far, that he's accurate, that he scans the field and makes good decisions and has moxie. Also, he's one of the few guys Belichick looked at. Could be our 10 year guy. At worst, he's probably the best backup we've had since Reich.

I wish him well, but it will be tough if he turns another team into a contender.

I'll feel better about this if it comes out at some point that McD ran this draft.

Sums it up for me. This draft had vision and purpose. Feels like a new era here with McDermott. I'd love to hear what you're basing that on.

I've heard the word "moxie" twice. I like that word with a qb. That's what Kelly had.

I guess we'll hear more about it as time goes on, but this felt like a McDermott draft. Maybe I'm overplaying it, but this draft felt like the start of a new era. And I'm not an anti-Whaley guy. But it seems like McDermott has brought a whole new philosophy and attitude. We might even start winning.

There really isn't a cookie cutter approach to the draft. What works one year may not work the next. We won't know for a few years, but as of today, it's hard to complain about this Bills draft.

I didn't think he'd make it to the 5th. We may have gotten some luck here, for once. Just missed on Dak last year. This guy has real potential.

They just said he's the most pro ready of all the Qb's drafted, and has the clutch gene. He's also the only qb that Belichick had in for a workout.

It's fun watching his highlights. He really has skills. Definitely has great hands - reminds me of Larry Fitz that way.

I'm not really sure what you're saying. The Bills have too much talent to actually "plan" to have a bad record. You don't waste a whole season just to go after a certain prospect. This thread really makes no sense to me.

I wouldn't mind Peterman, personally.
