  1. It's exciting that this game is such a huge deal - but I also kind of wish it wasn't such a huge deal. Pats fans always talk disdainfully about how playing their team is the other team's "Super Bowl" (they're just so bored w/ the regular season at this point). Unfortunately, they're right. In a way, that's cool. But it also does make me want this to just get back to being a good ol' standard divisional rivalry game. Just another fun Sunday, and not something that has so much negative history behind it and feels so weighty.
  2. I'm a total germaphobe, so the parts about the cleanliness of some of the communal food were a bit stomach-turning. But man, do I ever love Bills fans.
  3. Exactly how I feel. I have enough loon in me to think that if an entire region expects a loss, it has an effect. This has to end now. Let this Sunday be the game we look back on as changing the narrative.
  4. When this now legendary Pats team started dominating the league in 2001, it was pretty quiet. The weren’t plowing through opppnents in lopsided contests. They were scrappy overachievers, finding ways to eek out wins. It’s easy to look back now on those early years and say, of course, it was Brady and BB. But no one knew that at the time. No one saw it coming. I feel like this Bills team under Allen could have that same dynamic. Not really taken too seriously, but finding ways to win and in the process, building something pretty memorable.
  5. My hate for the Patriots is like a full lunar eclipse. It blocks out any other loathing I might usually feel. So unhealthy. I can’t wait to get back to normal, feel-good sports hate.
  6. Probably a must win if there is any hope of taking the division. Not for playoff hopes in general, though.
  7. When did White hurt his neck? He didn’t seem bothered at all on that INT, and that was the last play
  8. Frank Gore was ALWAYS meant to be a Buffalo Bill.
  9. And who knows if they’re the best team. They have beaten no one. Bills haven’t either, but no one is saying we’re the best.
  10. For the sake of Pete: Tom Brady is 42 years old. Hit the old man. Repeatedly. Then hit him some more.
  11. You can feel the hopes of a nation behind some of these comments to end the Pats dominance...
  12. These are all the same guys who doubled over when the Giants selected Danny Jones.
  13. The media will be all over the “changing of the guard in the AFCE” story. It will be hopelessly premature, but I’ll love it for how much it will tick off Pats fans.
  14. If they pull out a win, I’m going to officially start the 19-0 chatter...
  15. I still remember BB telling his D it was a “Nicks/Cruz” game right before Manningham’s big catch in that SB.
  16. It’s a quality D. No weaknesses, but their secondary is the only unit I would call elite. They are sound and well coached, as always. They’re not scary, or the ‘85 Bears. They shut down Falk.
  17. Saying the Pats would have done the same against Darnold is completely detached from reality. Kind of surprised you’re not banned. This is some A-1 trolling.
  18. It always bugs me when coaches feel like they have to do something tricky or “smart” to beat BB, and change what they do. That 2 man punt the Colts tried, for example. Just play sound football and limit mistakes.
  19. Gotta take advantage of their banged up o line. We need a 3-4 sack day, with a few batted balls thrown in. This would also be a good game to release the kraken that is Allen’s arm - a long ball or 2 for a TD would be nice.
  20. The official rules for my parades: 1) Don’t rain on them.
  21. It always feels a little like having a dentist’s appointment on a Sunday.
  22. True story: I’ve had dozens of Pats fans ask me over the years how I can “root for a losing team.” Many of these same fans have objected to being characterized as “bandwagon fans.” I hope I don’t need to explain that any further.
  23. Since 2001, the Patriots and their fans have sucked the joy out of a beautiful game and national pastime for most fans. We can't let America down again. This Sunday is the time - the moment of truth is here. It ends now.
  24. I like to think we've turned a corner, but the Patriots still look like the Patriots, and we're not there just yet. I give the Bills a puncher's chance due to home field, but it's likely the Pats win this one. You have to play perfect to beat them this year.
