  1. I wonder if Pats fans are still as excited about the upcoming Stidham era?
  2. Pretty typical stuff. I think they actually quoted me in there (I have said that they're not "all that" - I guess they missed that they played a 3rd stringer at home today). I'm sure it would happen to any fanbase w/ that kind of success, but am I supposed to envy that? That's some truly cartoonish arrogance going on there. Even on twitter, the main chatter was that they should have won by more.
  3. I think they’re overrated right now. Still a great team, but everyone is talking like it’s 2007 again. We’re the 1st team they’re playing that isn’t in complete disarray. Let’s see how the old man does.
  4. I was pretty surprised by how quickly some here turned on Allen today. The guy is clearly the QB we’ve been waiting for. It’s year 2, so of course he’s going to make some mistakes.
  5. I didn’t say their defense. The Pats took advantage of a 3rd string QB. You lucked out that Darnold was out.
  6. It’s hilarious how much time you spend here. I can’t even fathom doing that if the Bills had a similar run. Pats time is almost up. I love how the fan base there was talking up Stidham a few weeks ago. Can’t wait for that era to begin.
  7. I concede nothing to the Patriots this year. They took advantage of an undermanned and overwhelmed Jets team today. They needed a pick in Jets territory to get their one 2nd half TD. That team has not been tested yet. Our expectation should we a win for the home game.
  8. oh, gosh - does that mean Bill Simmons and other "hot take" media scouts were wrong?
  9. I'm still not convinced that NE is all that. I kept an eye on that game today - the Jets offered no resistance (I guess that will happen when you're trotting out a 3rd string QB on the road). Their D actually had some success stopping Brady. We should give them a good fight at home.
  10. Just about every team we've seen since the '90's would have been 0-3 or 1-2 at best w/ those 1st 3 games. This team just fights.
  11. I hope I never hear "Allen apologist" again. Nothing to apologize for. He made some mistakes, but did what we want a QB to do - forgot that, and pulled out the win.
  12. Still a tie game. If this team wants to be a contender, they have to learn how to overcome this kind of thing. Don't like the body language right now. We're at home in a tie game. I don't care what happened up to now, and they shouldn't either. Win this thing, now.
  13. I used to love Dalton to Boyd.
  14. Need some kind of momentum change here - sack, INT, missed FG. Anything.
  15. This punter has to put those deeper.
  16. Gronk had an injury history. We took Troup right before him in that draft. So, there's that.
  17. I could barely walk at 42, and I didn’t play football for 20 years. Not or sure how he pulls it off. I eat avocados, too.
  18. So, is the new helmet still an issue?
  19. Here’s what I want: I want to sweep the Patriots in the regular season and win the division. I want to then beat them again in the playoffs, en route to the Super Bowl.
  20. “Nothing changed” is indicative of perhaps a slight detachment from reality. BB is always portrayed as being flawless, and this was a huge miscalculation. Very embarrassing for him and the organization. We’ll also see how good that offense is when you start to play a few real teams.
  21. Pats fans are trying to play this off as no big deal, but man, is it a big deal. That offense just just went from off-the-charts scary to above average. I think our D can keep them in check enough to at least win the home stand.
  22. I don’t necessarily disagree. I just try to set the past aside when approaching a new season. And this season, we have what looks to be a very good team. Are the Pats better? Yes - but they’re a division rival that our current regime now knows well. Any team that hopes to be a contender should have an expectation of a split in those circumstances. Though, I agree that their D is scary good now. But ours is no slouch. I want that win at home. This team can do it this year. We have to end the cycle and annual expectation of a sweep. Helps that Brown is out of the picture now, too. Tre can handle Gordon.
  23. This could be a fun thread if it turns out to be nothing and he tears it up against the Pats next week.
  24. It’s easy to armchair stuff like this. Someone brought up Philly against NE in the Super Bowl. There was also Atlanta, who tried to stay aggressive with a big lead - and it cost them the game.
  25. Shaq has been mentioned, but I love what he’s doing. Who had him pegged as the guy who would emerge as one of the standouts on this defense, and a leader? I don’t think it’s a fluke. He looks relentless out there at times.
