9/22 Bills vs. Bengals 2nd half thread
Success replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope I never hear "Allen apologist" again. Nothing to apologize for. He made some mistakes, but did what we want a QB to do - forgot that, and pulled out the win. -

Still a tie game. If this team wants to be a contender, they have to learn how to overcome this kind of thing. Don't like the body language right now. We're at home in a tie game. I don't care what happened up to now, and they shouldn't either. Win this thing, now. -

Need some kind of momentum change here - sack, INT, missed FG. Anything. -

This punter has to put those deeper. -
Where is the outrage for Tyler Kroft

Gronk had an injury history. We took Troup right before him in that draft. So, there's that. -
More Tom Brady protection by the league

I could barely walk at 42, and I didn’t play football for 20 years. Not or sure how he pulls it off. I eat avocados, too. -
So, is the new helmet still an issue?

“Nothing changed” is indicative of perhaps a slight detachment from reality. BB is always portrayed as being flawless, and this was a huge miscalculation. Very embarrassing for him and the organization. We’ll also see how good that offense is when you start to play a few real teams.
-
Pats fans are trying to play this off as no big deal, but man, is it a big deal. That offense just just went from off-the-charts scary to above average. I think our D can keep them in check enough to at least win the home stand.
-
I don’t necessarily disagree. I just try to set the past aside when approaching a new season. And this season, we have what looks to be a very good team. Are the Pats better? Yes - but they’re a division rival that our current regime now knows well. Any team that hopes to be a contender should have an expectation of a split in those circumstances. Though, I agree that their D is scary good now. But ours is no slouch. I want that win at home. This team can do it this year. We have to end the cycle and annual expectation of a sweep. Helps that Brown is out of the picture now, too. Tre can handle Gordon.

This could be a fun thread if it turns out to be nothing and he tears it up against the Pats next week.

My one peeve from the Giants game

It’s easy to armchair stuff like this. Someone brought up Philly against NE in the Super Bowl. There was also Atlanta, who tried to stay aggressive with a big lead - and it cost them the game. -
Pleasant surprises through two weeks...

Shaq has been mentioned, but I love what he’s doing. Who had him pegged as the guy who would emerge as one of the standouts on this defense, and a leader? I don’t think it’s a fluke. He looks relentless out there at times. -
Just Beat the Bengals -- Don't Look Ahead

I can’t accept any imposed or suggested limitations on my freedom to think and let my mind travel wherever it wishes to go. Whether that’s Bengals week, the Patriots game, or sitting on a French beach 20 years from now. Viva Liberte. -
Well, that’s good. Glad you’re here to give us that assurance.

I wasn’t the one putting a whole season on one game.

The 1st game? Against a terrible Steelers team? Great point.
-
If Brady gets through this season, it’s clear that the devil is involved somehow...
-
A lot of the Pats success this year is tied to 2 superstar receivers whose ability to play every week is questionable, and a 42 year old QB whose o line is patchwork at the moment. Let’s see how things play out.

Unnecessary comment. I haven’t been broken like a horse. I look at every season as a new one. No disrespect intended for the team you worship. I’m just not convinced that they’re a similar jauggernaut to 2007 based on big wins over the Steelers and Dolphins. They may be, as I said, but a better sample is needed.
-
I’m not convinced the Pats are that much better than us. I have a hunch they are, but it’s impossible to tell with the teams they’ve played.

MNF -Cleveland Browns @ New Jersey Jets

Obviously, losing Darnold is a big deal. I still contend that the Jets are a very good team with him. That D is legit.
