  1. I’d rather be a Bills fan, but for lots of other reasons.
  2. Perfectly reasonable. I applaud your modest expectations.
  3. They’re all in on Gordon and Brown both getting through the season. Probably a decent bet, but hardly a guarantee. I still can’t tell if this is 2007 all over again, or if Pittsburgh just didnt show up.
  4. I was thrilled with Allen’s game. The turnovers were generally flukey. Not entirely, but I didn’t see him misread coverages or make dumb throws. And accuracy? Such an overblown concern about Allen. He’s such a gamer. I feel like it’s been a long time since we had a QB who was this kind of leader, and who just seemed like a winner.
  5. I love football.
  6. Football, playoff baseball, foliage, apple cider and the Rockpile Review. Fall is back! Great write up. Love the story about Coleman and Oliver. There are so many positives on this team right now. With Allen, Singletary, Brown, Oliver, Edmunds, White, et al., I feel like we have a young core in place that can give us a long run of success like that ‘90s crew.
  7. “The Creepy Crazy D” doesn’t really roll off the tongue like the Steel Curtain or Electric Company. But it’s a start.
  8. A lot of the most memorable catches in NFL history were from throws that were less than perfect. The QBs main job is getting a ball out so that the receiver can make a play. Not an easy catch for Cole, to be sure. But even he is probably thinking he should have snagged it. I don’t blame picks like that on the QB. The ones that concern me are those that are easy picks for the D - telegraphed, or completely misunderstanding the coverage. I don’t expect a QB to anticipate a catchable ball getting tipped into an easy pick.
  9. A sort of collective narcissism has overtaken that entire region. The Celtics and Red Sox just imploded and are both looking at rebuilds. Can’t wait until the Pats join them.
  10. I’m really trying to distance myself from what that team does this season. In the past, I would only be happy on Sunday if the Bills won AND the Pats lost. That’s a recipe for a lot if bad Sundays. I barely even watched their game last night. Clearly, they look like a jauggernaut and will be tough to beat, but I just want the Bills to keep winning and contend. When it comes time to face them, the any given Sunday rule is in full effect.
  11. I really don’t want to see that team in another super bowl.
  12. The Pats do their best to suck all of the joy out of football. Though I still feel good today.
  13. I hope Brady’s next 500 passes look like that one.
  14. There are no textbooks for learning how to win in the NFL, but there are tests. Today was one of ‘em. Coming back down multiple scores, on the road against a rival, overcoming mistakes and terrible play, playing the full 60 - what a huge experience for this team, and one they can build on. I love this team. This could be a fun season.
  15. I love everything about this team. Allen is talented and resilient. Singletary could be a star. The O line is the best I’ve seen it in years. John Brown - John friggin’ Brown. And that D. We can win any game with that D. They get great pressure, cover well and contain the run. And they play like a cohesive unit. What a team.
  16. I didn’t understand fans turning on Allen. He had some really bad breaks there. I loved how he played today. He really has swagger. But slide - don’t dive.
  17. So many on D - Shaq and Edmunds stood out for me.
  18. What a way to start the season, There is a LOT to like about this team. Starting with our most resilient QB since Kelly.
  19. Great to see Singletary settling in. Lots of bad breaks today, but this a good team. Still in this
  20. Now do you believe, Trinity?
  21. Okay. But if we win, we’re going to the Super Bowl.
  22. Fired up. We’re finally here. Feeling very confident.
  23. There were football people talking about something besides AB and the Patriots? That’s a good day. I rejoice in this news.
  24. Pretty sobering. What’s to stop ANY player from doing this? The Pats could just become a ring factory. A place great players decide to go to win, and use any means necessary to do it. I remember when football used to be kind of fun...
