  1. “this could impact the Bills for years” is a little dramatic, don’t you think? Teams miss on late 1st round and 2nd round picks all the time. It’s 50-50. What matters is a QB… and we have one.
  2. The thing we need most on this team is pass rush. Lets trade Hughes, our best past rusher.
  3. https://www.joincake.com/blog/rip-in-peace/ Welcome to the internet, my friend.
  4. Are we going to do the Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes debate for the next 15 years? They are both great QB's. Pat Mahomes has more super bowls and more MVP trophies. If Josh gets one of either, we can start comparing. Until then, just enjoy the ride. Do we really have to have a short-man complex about even our good players?
  5. It's ok if you're not an Edmunds fan, but calling him "slow" just shows you don't know anything. He ran a 4.54 40 and plays extremely fast. The problem is reading coverage and physicality.
  6. TURBISKI TO BANGALS, FOR THE WIN!
  7. Lotta doubters. Lets see how this all works out.
  8. The fact that we didn't draft a single 1-Tech, didn't pursue one in FA, and barely looked in UDFA should tell you everything you need to know. I think he's going to surpass a lot of people's expectations. The guy has had bad injury luck, but when fully healthy, he has been great. It's always disappointing when people say "bust" or "he'll never be a starter" ... it's more likely he'll be a strong starter than a bench player or cut.
  9. Here's the link, for those who .... actually want to read the article this thread is about: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/05/19/jim-mcmahon-bill-belichicks-a-lying-piece-of-sh-t/
  10. The main reason I don't like this statistic is it doesn't account for how good/bad a team is offensively. When Andy Reed goes for it on 4th and 5 with Pat Mahomes and throws to Travis Kelce or Tyreek Hill... is that aggressive? When Dick Jauron goes for it on 4th and 3 with JP Losman throwing to Josh Reed and Robert Royal ... is that less aggressive? Of course McDermott, Andy Reid, etc. are going to seem more "aggressive" when they have Offenses that they have faith in. Remember when everyone said McDermott was way too old school and wanted to run too much and played like a wimp? That was fun. This is exactly why statistics are garbage.
  11. This would have been great for the Patriots if they didn't already give Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry contracts that add up to $41 Million per year. LOLLLLLLLLLLLL
  12. I have always like the Saints. Back in the Aaron Brooks years, they were always exciting to watch, but stunk. Cool uniforms, cool city, easy to root for during the Katrina years. Then Drew Brees came along and made them more fun to watch and he's a likeable guy as well. If my Bills fandom is a 10, Saints are about a 3, but every other team is a 2 or less.
  13. The reason we are in “cap trouble” is we will be returning 21 out of 22 starters next year. That’s not trouble. That’s good planning.
  14. Page 5 of this thread and nobody has mentioned that the Patriots lost their best O-Lineman and best run blocker this year, Joe Thuney? The Chiefs gave him an $80 Million contract over 5 years. That's how good he was. It's a huge loss and all of these flashy signings don't counteract the massive loss they took. They got worse, not better.
  15. Highest expectations in.... 25 years? Pretty exciting times!
  16. They turned Epenesa into an arc-running, edge-bending pass rusher that you're describing. Watch the last few games of the season .... that's his exact game. At his lighter weight, he's way better doing that than kicking inside.
  17. Ike Boettger, our starting Left Guard last year, is 6’6” 313. Mitch Morse, our starting Center, is 6’6” 304. I don’t think it’s insane to think Tommy Doyle, who is 6’8” 320, has short arms, and has experience at guard, might play guard at some point for us.
  18. I made a separate thread about this... you might be on to something. Not sure if you knew this, but the Bills currently have the tallest center and Tallest Guard in the league. Morse and Boettger, both 6’6”. Interesting point.
  19. When I heard that the Bills drafted two Swing Tackles with their 3rd and 5th round picks, I was a little disappointed. It seemed like Center/Guard should have been at least one of the picks. I assumed, of course, that these guys were both future tackles because they’re 6’8” and 6’9” and tall players don’t typically make for great guards/centers. They get out-leveraged and clog throwing lanes. But then, I stumbled across an interesting fact.... Mitch Morse is the tallest Center in the league at 6’6” Ike Boettger is the tallest Guard in the league at 6’6” Maybe... Josh’s height and playing style allows Spencer Brown and Tommy Doyle to ultimately kick inside? Perhaps that’s wishful thinking, but certainly worth mentioning.
  20. Name one guard in the league who’s 6’8”... much less 6’9”. They would be easily out-leveraged and would block passing lanes for Josh. They are simply Tackles. They are not Guards.
  21. C I love the idea of drafting Defensive Ends and anyone who can effect the QB. However, this was the wrong draft to do it. There was less talent this year at DE than any other draft I can remember. I love the idea of drafting O-Line to protect Josh. However, we have a Left Tackle and Right Tackle locked in for the next several years already. Sure, maybe Darryl gets optioned out after 1 year, but is that really a better move than finding a way to replace Morse? He’s just as expensive. How about a better LG or RG? I would think those are certainly weaker positions both short term and long term. We got decent value for the picks, which keeps this as a C, but we could have done so much more this year.
  22. No issues with going D-Line and O-Line. However, our Left Tackle and Right tackle are locked in for the next 3 years. If all goes well, the two tackles we drafted never see the field. If you were so worried about our O-Line getting man-handled by KC, wouldn’t you prefer us taking an interior lineman? That’s where we got absolutely crushed last year... not Tackle. Plenty of people are happy we drafted OL/DL and simply think we picked the wrong position to bolster.
  23. Is this a joke? Stidham played last year and was garbage any time he was in. Are we really giving participation trophies to 2nd and 3rd round picks? Nobody on that list is an above average quarterback. Period. San Francisco drafted a QB at #3 because the current guy isn’t good enough and he’s the best out of all of Belichick’s failures. How are you arguing any of this??
  24. Belichick developed Drew Bledsoe? That's a new one. Bledsoe played for the Pats 1993-2001. Belichick was an assistant for the Patriots one year in 1996 and then didn't come back until 2000. Not sure if you watched San Francisco, but Jimmy Garoppolo was the reason they DIDN'T win the Super Bowl. Here are the QB's drafted by Belichick the past 20 years: 2002: Round 4: Rohan Davey - sucked 2003: Round 6: Kliff Kinsgsbury - sucked 2005: Round 7: Matt Cassel - sucked 2008: Round 3: Kevin O'Connell - sucked 2010: Round 7: Zac Robinson - sucked 2011: Round 3: Ryan Mallett - sucked 2014: Round 2: Jimmy Garoppolo - average at best 2016: Round 3: Jacoby Brissett - average at best 2018: Round 7: Danny Etling - sucked 2019: Round 4: Jarrett Stidham - sucked You clearly haven't done your research, my friend.
  25. I have absolutely zero fear of Mac Jones. Bill Belichick has benefitted from having a great QB for 20 years. No other QB they have "developed" has ever turned into a competent starter. Remember when we were all scared of what Bill could do with Cam, a former league MVP? Don't let the legacy fool you.
