  1. Buddy Nix confirmed that he spread rumors around that Cordy Glenn is too slow to play tackle. Cordy dropped and Buddy got him in the 2nd round. It's called "Smoke Screen Season" for a reason. This has been proven dozens of times. The Dolphins might be trading up for an OT or they may not, but Ian Rappaport's reporting means less than nothing. Nobody is telling the truth to him. Can we kill this thread?
  2. I deleted my comment. Thought he was listed at 6’2” because that’s the first thing that came up. Not sure why everyone is so enamored with a pass catching RB that hits home runs when we have zero goal line back, but ok. Also seems to be a lot of weird tempers on this thread, so I’m going to back away slowly.
  3. deleting this comment - thought he was listed at 6’2”
  4. Pass. Would rather have a true possession receiver (he’s not) or a true tackle breaking RB (he’s not). Not really interested in a ‘tweener. This is Laviska Shenault minus the explosion.
  5. Every year is different and this year is particularly deep in round 2 and 3. To be specific, I was referring to those rounds.
  6. I don't want to see us trade up for any player. This is a draft where you can get First Round talent in the 2nd round and maybe even 3rd round. Would you rather have Delpit or a stud WR to groom and stud RB to groom under Josh? I think that's a little more important than safety depth right now.
  7. Here's the thing, man. The reason people are saying this is the best WR class ever is NOT because it has two or three elite prospects. It's because there are about 10 WR this year who are actually worth a first or second round pick. At pick 22, you would get a guy with similar talent as pick 54. So, if you really want to take a chance on another upside WR, just take one! This is one of those rare "have your cake and eat it too" scenarios. One of these guys in the second round is going to be a star, too.
  8. I never made the connection until now. You'd think Beane would be all over Hopkins when he heard he was available, but maybe the bad blood between Tre and Hopkins gave him pause: https://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/2020/01/bills-tre-white-downplays-deandre-hopkins-slight-but-known-to-keep-social-media-receipts.html https://buffalonews.com/2020/01/04/buffalo-bills-houston-texans-deandre-hopkins-tredavious-white/ This can certainly just be the case of two top players being competitive, but the locker room culture is fantastic right now and maybe Beane thought this would have a negative effect. Who knows, just thought it was interesting to consider.
  9. Here's the real joke. It's supposed to be about future value and "who you would want at current age, value, etc." This loser is saying that he would rather have Tom Brady on his team than: -Sam Darnold -Josh Allen -Daniel Jones -Gardner Minshew -Drew Lock So, rather than a top prospect with future upside, you'd rather have a 42 year old Dinosaur on a huge contract? Oh, maybe your argument is that Tom Brady is much better RIGHT NOW than Allen? Nope, last season: Brady: 60.8 completion %, 24 TD, 8 INT (plus 3 rushing TD's) Allen: 58.8 completion %, 20 TD, 9 INT (plus 9 rushing TD's) Add in the fact that Allen is literally 19 years younger than Brady, has a $5M cap hit vs a $25M cap hit per year for the next two years. You could say this about any of the guys above, not just Allen... they should all be ranked above Brady. The bias is unbelievable.
  10. See... this is why we can't have nice things. Some people are so damaged from our past regimes, they can't see a good thing even when it hits them right in the face.
  11. If you don't understand the difference between a position coach and a player whom you spend all day every day with, I can't help you. Watch one episode of hard knocks or read any head coach interview re: veteran leadership and you'll get it.
  12. -He helped hire a dumpster fire head coach. -He traded a future first round pick for a WR that is significantly worse than many players drafted after him. -He put us in salary cap hell with massive contracts to guys like Dareus -He established zero culture -He never made the playoffs Maybe he "gets a bad rap" because he was a horrible GM. The 5 things above are the 5 most important things a GM can do and he failed at all of them.
  13. You're missing my point. They don't need to be on the field to make an impact.
  14. I actually feel completely opposite of this. We already have "young and healthy" guys at the TE position. What we need is a veteran presence to teach them technique every day and be a good locker room influence. A guy like Olsen or Walker would be huge for the development of Knox, Croom, Sweeney and even Kroft.
  15. Yup. Anybody who knows where we’ve been, knows how much better it is now. I don’t want to go back down that road again.
  16. There are 336 poll responses, so it kinda seems like people wanted to do this. Thanks for your input though.
  17. I didn't see this posted anywhere yet. Curious what you all think.
  18. Right, but this is exactly my point. Comp picks aren't supposed to be for smart teams that make the playoffs. Comp picks are supposed to be for teams concerned with losing talent because the DON'T make the playoffs and CAN'T retain talent. Are we really still doing this? The team had ZERO talent and we needed to cut a bunch of bad contracts and replace them with something. They were in a horrible position. They used those players to make the playoffs 2 of the last 3 years and still put us in a great position for the future. Be grateful.
  19. Teams receiving third round comp picks this year: Patriots: 12-4 and playoffs (x2) Texans: 10-6 and playoffs Steelers: 8-8 and almost playoffs Giants: 4-12 Seahawks: 11-5 and playoffs Eagles: 9-7 and playoffs Rams: 9-7 and almost playoffs Vikings: 10-6 and playoffs Ravens: 14-2 and playoffs So almost every pick went to a playoff team from the previous year. This is such a disgrace.
  20. Armstead is the one guy I don't want. - 2 out of the 5 seasons he's played, he has sat out half the season with injury. - He never had more than 3 sacks in a season before this year. - He plays on a loaded defense and faces solo coverage all the time due to Bosa and Bruckner getting attention. - He never did anything until the two guys (above) came in and dominated, which created opportunities for him. - He will be incredibly expensive. NO.
  21. Yuck. 32 years old. Fined 3+ times for hitting players dirty or mouthing off about officials. Not to mention he went to war with the Panthers in 2016 when they rescinded his franchise tag. Who was the Assistant GM for the Panthers in 2016? Brandon Beane. Who was the Defensive Coordinator for the Panthers in 2016? Sean McDermott. Very well thought out. You should stick to your "yuck" messages.
