Allen's availability vs covid vaccine
Rigotz replied to Pitch left's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did anybody actually watch the interview or did you just read the media's BS spin on it? He said everyone is entitled to their own opinion and he hasn't made a decision yet. That's the perfect answer to the question. He doesn't want to get into the political debate that you all seem to want. The same way he doesn't say "yeah the other team sucked, so we beat them by 30" I doubt you're going to hear him say "yeah of course I'm going to take the vaccine because I'm not a dumb*ss." -
I think you might be missing my point. The Browns might be improving on paper, but they’re signing a bunch of guys who have proven character issues. Tell me if you spot a pattern with their big signings and let me know if that might cause an issue: - Sheldon Richardson - Kareem Hunt - Odell Beckham - Jadeveon Clowney - David Njoku If they’re really turning things around, why go after Clowney?
-
Might be a top 3 roster, but it’s a bottom 3 locker room. Clowney is SUCH a Browns pick. All the talent in the world but is the opposite of a “process” guy. The Bills have players on their roster that will die for each other. The Browns have great individual talent. I will pick the “team” every time over the mercenaries.

Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]
Rigotz replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The value of Ertz at his current salary is a 4th at best. Bills probably walked away after offering a 5th. There’s a reason nobody else wanted to trade for him. Anyone talking about anything close to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round value only knows the name Ertz and hasn’t followed the production dip. He’s not the same and he’s expensive. -
Hey man, I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this ... but Football Outsiders did the same analysis and improved it by adjusting for total # of draft picks and draft position, which was sorely needed: https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stat-analysis/2020/nfl-drafting-efficiency-2010-2019 In 2019 the Bills were #7 in total draft return. After adjusting for draft position (they shouldn't be credited for losing), they were #10. In 2018 the Bills were #4 in total draft return. After adjusting for draft position, they were #11. In 2017 the Bills were #2 in total draft return. After adjusting for draft position, they were #2. So you're right that they were VERY GOOD. I agree that they were very good, per my first post. The drafts also don't pass the eyeball test for me... regardless of what numbers stat geeks are putting on them. Name one player we drafted in 2019 who has looked elite. Outside of Josh Allen, name one player drafted in 2018 who is considered elite... Tremaine Edmunds (#16 overall)? Yes, VERY GOOD Front Office staff overall, but I'm not ready to say the best in the entire league.
-
I would agree with "One of the best front offices." I'm not sold on "The Best Front Office" yet. We're fans of the team so it's easy to get excited about re-signing our own guys, but lets face it: 2019 Draft: 1st: Ed Oliver 2nd: Cody Ford (traded up) 3rd: Devin Singletary 3rd : Dawson Knox (traded up) 5th: Vosean Joseph 6th: Jaquan Johnson 7th: Darryl Johnson 7th: Tommy Sweeney 2018 Draft: 1st: Josh Allen - INCREDIBLE PICK. 1st: Tremaine Edmunds (traded way up) 3rd: Harrison Phillips 4th: Taron Johnson 5th: Siran Neal 5th: Wyatt Teller (Great player, but traded away) 6th: Ray-Ray McLoud 7th: Austin Proehl There really is no better team in the entire league at drafting talent, developing it, and retaining it? I'm sure there is at least 1 team out there that did a better job.

When did I ever say I wanted to do anything? Jesus, everyone is always looking for a fight on this message board. Relax.

Thought this might be an interesting debate. In 2017, as we all remember, the Bills made a big trade with KC: - KC receives 10th overall 2017 pick - Bills receive 27th overall 2017 pick - Bills receive KC’s 3rd rounder in 2017 - Bills receive KC’s 1st rounder in 2018 Seeing as we’re drafting at #30 this year, it’s fair to assume that the cost to move up to #10 will be very similar. Big reason for trading up: With 4-5 QBs going in the top 10, you have a chance at an impact DE, CB, or TE. Big reason for not making the trade: 1st round picks are never fun to give away and we saw what happened with the Dolphins and Texans trade. Would you consider moving up, given that the guy you want is available?

Bills players you disliked
Rigotz replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unprofessional and quit on the team? Both of those guys were all business. They were great and we didn't want to pay them, so they left. Not re-signing Jairus Byrd to a big contract was a great decision. Not signing Stephon Gilmore to be the highest paid CB in the league was not a terrible decision either. You can't compare them to guys like Dareus who took the money and ran or McGahee who said all Buffalo women are ugly. -
Bills sign G Forrest Lamp

Did someone say Lamp? -
Jets' draft ammo is crazy right now
Rigotz replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Newsflash! With this amazing new Joe Douglas potion they have, they went 2-14 while holding on to Adam Gase for some reason and being the biggest clown show in the league. This might sound crazy, but I'm going to bet with the exact same ownership as they've had the last 20 years, they're probably going to continue to do the same thing they did the last 20 years. A GM change doesn't make franchises like the Jets competent over night. -
Jets' draft ammo is crazy right now
Rigotz replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmm... alright, so they have the #2 overall pick which they're going to use on a QB. They have nobody around him right now and an extra 1st, 3rd and 5th this year. Lets rewind to 2018. The Jets had the 2018 6th overall pick, two second round picks, and another 2019 second round pick. They traded all of that to the Colts to get up to pick #3 to get Sam Darnold. They didn't have anyone else around him. The rest of their draft picks that year were Nathan Shepherd, Chris Herndon, Parry Nickerson, Folorunso Fatukasi. and Trenton Cannon. I will be shocked if any of those players are starters in 3 years. All that Draft Capital and nothing to show for it. The Jets are a completely inept franchise and unless they have a McDermott/Beane type combo in their front office, they will continue to squander any opportunity they might have to actually develop talent. -
An RB in Round 1 is possible. Najee Harris, in Round 1, is nearly impossible. He's a very similar player to the two guys we just drafted in the third round. He doesn't stretch the field sideline to sideline (which is what we need). He wouldn't have a big enough added impact to justify a 1st round pick. People who don't really understand what our offense needs or just think "NAJEE IS GUD, HE FROM BAMA AND BIG LIKE HENRY" will disagree, but it's a fact.
-
Just to be clear... you think that the #15 overall pick this year ... plus a LATE first the following year and the year after that .... Is enough for the Patriots to get Deshaun Watson? Wow.
-
When I think of the biggest needs on this team, running back is not in the top 3. You can get a good running back for $5M - $10M in Free Agency if you really want one. A good 2nd corner or defensive end will cost you $10M - $15M+. I would much rather have one of those... or even a great run blocker so there are actually lanes to run through... That's just me though.
-
There is absolutely zero chance he would accept this. He's an excellent player. Unfortunately, we don't have the money for him and it's not a critical need.
-
What can Texans expect for Watson now?
Rigotz replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. This doesn't affect his trade value at all. 2. If anything, it increases the chances that he stays while things get worked out. 3. He's unlikely to be traded anyway. -
Sorry, what exactly do you guys think the Pats have to offer that will get them Deshaun Watson? You think rather than taking a top 3 pick and multiple other first round picks in this draft and next draft from the Jets or Dolphins, the Texans would prefer the Patriots' 15th overall pick and their future late 1st rounders after they put Watson on a loaded team? They are stupid, but not that stupid.
-
Considering that our offense is finally good, would you rather have a punter that can boom it 50 yards but can't place the ball at all, or a guy that can place the ball inside the 20, 10, and 5 yard line? I would personally rather have the latter. Bojo was great last year, but generally has had lots of trouble with directional kicks and mistakes at critical times.
-
You need a history lesson, my friend. Antoine Winfield was a CORNERBACK for the Bills and Vikings and he was a very good one.
-
Antoine Winfield never lived up to his draft status?? He made the pro bowl 3 times and was first team all-pro one year. That means top 2 CB in the league. He had a 14 year career in which he was known as being a great CB for almost all of them. It's not his fault Ralph refused to pay him. Sheesh. You guys forget quickly.

The Compensatory Pick System Is BROKEN.
Rigotz replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You expected the NFL to make a statement that specifically states “we want the teams who nobody wants to play for to have a fair chance” ... that was your expectation? Or, maybe you expected the rule to say “the NFL intends to reward bad football teams for being unattractive destinations that have to overpay every year” ... was that it? Read between the lines, jesus. Or even try reading more than just the first 3 lines. The intent of the original rule was clear. -
The Compensatory Pick System Is BROKEN.
Rigotz replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For those who are still struggling to understand why it’s a bad thing to give all of the good teams more free draft picks, while giving the bad teams none, here’s an article: http://insidethepylon.com/nfl/front-office/2018/04/05/three-ways-fix-compensatory-picks/ It also gets into specifics about why the system was designed. Hint: it wasn’t to make sure that good teams continue to get more draft picks than bad teams. -
The Compensatory Pick System Is BROKEN.
Rigotz replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was how the system was built, but that's not how it functions. I'm not sure why a lot of you can't see this. I just laid it out for you. Imagine you're a free agent. Would you rather play for the team that always wins? Or, would you rather play for the team that always loses? Of course, you would pick the team that always wins. The comp pick system was created to counter-balance this by rewarding bad teams who can't hold on to their players. But the opposite happened. Now, not only are free agents overpaid by the loser teams (because it's the only way they can get these players), the winner teams get EXTRA picks in return and can replace those players that they just lost because, of course, they are overpaid by loser teams. That seems like a pretty bad concept if the NFL is trying to encourage small market teams, who typically lose, to actually have a chance.
