Pats are 4-4 with a rookie QB and almost top 10 defense
Rigotz replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love Mac Jones. I think he's the perfect QB to take a team to 8-9 or 9-8 purgatory. He will never win you a Super Bowl, but he'll be good enough to make sure you don't have a good pick to get a new QB. Say it with me. I. Love. Mac. Jones. -
How about David Montgomery? 3rd round RB on third year of his rookie contract. Khalil Herbert has looked fantastic as a rookie since Montgomery got hurt. Bears can use all the help they can get and with Herbert looking so good, I wonder if they would be willing to trade Montgomery in exchange for a 2nd rounder and Singletary? That would be a nice haul and I think it would be worth it for both teams.

The Edmunds Report - Week 8, Fish v. Bills, 10/31/21
Rigotz replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s unfortunate that he’s in a contract year next year because he’s going to be paid a ton and frankly, doesn’t deserve it. I would take him for a “B average” salary like $8MM per for the next 10 years, but unfortunately, he’ll get way more from us or someone else. -
Current NFC Landscape brings back memories of 80's/90's dominance
Rigotz replied to FilthyBeast's topic in The Stadium Wall
Very strong attempt to troll. A-. I deducted a half point because you forgot that at the beginning of the season, everyone was saying the AFC is poised to be the new dominant division. This might come as a shocker, but there are many good teams in both the NFC and AFC and whichever teams go to the Super Bowl will be good teams. -
I think it's so important that we need a second thread about it when there's a 5 page thread about it immediately below this one.

So... we're saying that Knox is a bust now? Top 10 TE in yards per game, Top 10 in receiving yards, #1 in Receiving TD's, has shown great blocking skills... and he's a bust. Jesus.

We currently have ~$3M in cap space and would need more to sign Mercilus. So, we'd have to get rid of Addison or Hughes. Is Mercilus a big upgrade over Addison/Hughes? They've both been having a decent season... certainly frustrating at times, but I think it would be bad for the locker room to get rid of them, so I would pass.

When your have a Bye week very early in the season, that extra week of rest late in the season makes a big difference. It’s less about home games and more about that. Plus I’ll take a guaranteed 1st round win any day. That’s the goal and we took a tough loss today. Lets not minimize how important that seed is.

10/18/21 Gameday Bills @ Titans Postgame thread
Rigotz replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Franchise QB. 4-2 with a 2 game lead on the division. The rest of the division opponents are a joke. The rest of the schedule is a joke. The team is healthy. The coaches are making aggressive calls. There’s a lot to like. The two guys I’m annoyed by today are Jerry Hughes and Mario Addison. They won’t be here next year. You know who will be? Epenesa, Rousseau, and Boogie. All were inactive tonight. The future is bright and we’ll be fine. -
There’s nothing more annoying than a fan of ANY team celebrating a victory before a game is played. That’s also a guaranteed way to jinx your team. Either way, yikes.

Mike Williams is a free agent after this year - there's $20M Linval Joseph is a free agent after this year - there $5-10M Chris Harris is a free agent after this year - there's $5-10M These cap figures are deceptive because if a good player is rolling off of a contract, they're counted as zero. However, just to have the same team you had this year, you need to pay MORE to get these players back. The Bills don't have a lot of cap space because they've done a good job of extending guys and not letting them hit free agency.
-
I think he's definitely valuable, but you can't pay everyone. If he's willing to take a cheap deal, go for it. We need to do a better job of investing in the CB position in the draft though, soon. Not enough quality depth. Rounds 3-7 would love to see at least another 1-2.

Man.... Whatever happens in this game, these message boards are going to be annoying on Monday. If we win it will be "GARANTEED SUPERBOWL, MAHOMS SUX" and if we lose it will be "JOSH WIL NEVR BE MAHOMS, GIVE UP" ...

CFL radio host fired for criticizing Edmonton Elks GM.
Rigotz replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know nothing about the team or this guy, but if he's just a bad radio host and annoying to the GM and the fans, they were probably fed up and got rid of him. We're taking his own word that the sole reason he got fired is because he said something bad about the GM. This reminds me of the Buffalo News situation where the writers were constantly bemoaning the Bills and it got really annoying for both the fans and ownership. I remember them publishing an article about how being a rabid fan is a "sickness" the day after the Bills had the biggest victory in 20 years. The Pegulas are rumored to have gotten them fired after that, but realistically, nobody wanted to hear their doom and gloom poor reporting anymore. This has nothing to do with freedom of speech. He works for a company and they thought he was doing a bad job so they got rid of him. If he was valuable, he wouldn't be fired. -
Bucs at Patriots - How to Process this Game
Rigotz replied to BillsfaninSB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One of the nice things we've all noticed is when Brady does well and the Patriots do poorly, it increases the chatter the Bill Belichick is NOT the greatest coach of all time. The word "fraud" is even used. Tom Brady is the greatest QB of all time. Him winning or losing a few extra games doesn't matter at this point. Belichick LOSING matters. Bills being #1 in the division matters. It's an easy call. Root for the Bucs. -
If we didn't just finish an entire season of Offensive dominance, these would be legitimate concerns. The overreaction to only winning 35-0 against a tough division opponent just because Josh didn't look great is insane. The "4 games" you reference were against: Ravens: #1 ranked defense in 2020 Chiefs: #13 ranked defense in 2020 Steelers: Top 3 defense in 2021 Miami: Top 10 defense in 2021 Pat Mahomes almost got beaten in week 1 and got beaten in week 2. Aaron Rodgers got embarrassed in week 1. Teams lose sometimes and ... stick with me here ... good defenses don't make it easy to score. The sky is not falling.

The defense looked incredible yesterday. No debate. The offense did not look incredible yesterday. No debate. For those who can't enjoy a 35-0 win and are caught up on the offense looking bad, keep this in mind: The Bills brought back essentially all of the same Offensive players, same coordinators, and same QB that lit up the league last year. Going into the season, the team had a few unknowns: - Would Greg Rousseau be able to make an impact in his rookie year? (yes) - Would AJ Epenesa be able to take a step forward? (yes) - Would Star Lotulelei and Ed Oliver be able to have a come-back season? (so far, yes) - Would the CB2 position be solid, rather than a liability? (so far, yes) - Would the run game be able to be improved (so far, yes) - Would the offensive line improve? (so far, no, but it's the exact same players as last year) The passing game will get figured out. Lets just enjoy the win and progress in virtually all of the areas fans were worried about. Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Emmanuel Sanders, Cole Beasley, and Gabe Davis don't all of a sudden stink. 👍

Josh Allen is looking a lot more like the 2019 version
Rigotz replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a crazy thought, but stay with me. Maybe, just maybe, it's only the first two games of the season and the Bills have played against two top 10 defenses. After next week, when the Bills play another top 5 defense, the sky will not be falling. The defenses are just really good. -
What happens if Tua Doesn’t Get Hurt?
Rigotz replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Tua didn't get injured, I think there's a serious chance he might have gotten benched. He looked lost out there.- 57 replies

Why can't Tribisky be the holder on place kicks?
Rigotz replied to JohninMinn.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because being a holder is a very precise science and I trust the guy who has done it all day every day for years over a guy who has never done it before. You may remember Bojorquez, who practiced every day, costing us a few field goals last year because he faced the laces in instead of out. -
Am I the only person who wasn't worried about the Ravens before, during, or after these injuries?
