  1. Respectfully, I think this is an issue with the fan base... as evidenced by everyone hating my thread! Everyone is starting to get impatient with this window and they're clamoring for bad long term decisions to be made. The most common theme I've read in this thread was "Rasul was actually really good for half a season!" or "Cooper helped us a little bit!" A 3rd round pick is an opportunity to potentially get a YOUNG SUPERSTAR on a cheap contract. Deone Walker was a 4th round pick and look at the impact he's already having as a rookie. I want as many of those guys as possible. You're all free to disagree, hate, laugh ... whatever you want. I'm on the side of not panicking.
  2. Guys... I appreciate that we all want the Bills to win a Super Bowl this season, but these were objectively poor long term decisions. Spending a 3rd round pick on a guy who isn't on your team the next year is rarely a good decision. It's a particularly bad one when they don't have a massive impact on the team's ultimate goal, which is to win a Super Bowl. You can all disagree with me if you like, but blowing a 3rd round pick on a guy who will only make you marginally better for one season is a poor strategy and shows no patience in teambuilding.
  3. Everybody wants the roster to improve immediately in areas of need. I get it. However, impatience has killed Brandon Beane and this team in the past. Ask yourself this question... when was the last time an in-season trade worked out for the Bills? I can think of plenty that didn't: Kelvin Benjamin for a 3rd round pick. Amari Cooper for a 3rd and 6th round pick. Rasul Douglas for a 3rd and 5th round pick. So, for all of those who will inevitably say "Brandon Beane caught sleeping again" ... name one time we traded for a guy in-season and the trade worked out for us? Fact is, teams are willing to trade away these players mid-season for a reason. The truly valuable trades typically happen in the off-season, not during.
  4. I have never seen so much attention to and frustration with a PRACTICE SQUAD in my life. In many cases, these are quality veteran backups that are strictly used in case of emergency. They will only play if there is an injury or a series of injuries. What are you expecting from effectively the 4th and 5th string players? Are you really this unhappy with veteran players that at one point had some value as STARTERS in the NFL? Good lord.
  5. I'm pretty certain they'll find a way to make the playoffs. More importantly, I'm also pretty certain they're not going to be a threat to the #1 seed. That's the exciting part for me.
  6. Word seems to be out that Josh loves to "get" talk show hosts with a certain specific kind of joke. It happened initially on Pardon My Take, then Bussin Wit Da Boys. Think it came from Daboll originally. I'd imagine the punchline is -- Jamal deez nuts in your mouth!
  7. Yes, but I will say… the fans have improved as their team has remained stagnant for so long. Only the die hards seem to be left and I respect that. I’m sure the bandwagon obnoxious NJ and Long Island people will all be back if they ever become good again.
  8. Awesome, another nickname thread.
  9. Great point. I was about to say… why the heck didn’t we identify Robbins as a problem all pre-season and camp and finally make a move now…
  10. I don’t think I’m underestimating anything related to Josh. He’s incredible and the primary reason for our recent success. That can be true while also acknowledging that our front office is significantly upgraded from the Buddy and Russ show. Watch the frickin press conference I linked!
  11. Yeah, I thought about this. Sure, Marshawn was on his way out and traded 6 months after the Spiller draft pick… when every franchise knew we would move him, thus tanking his value. How about this, though? Fred Jackson signed a 4 year contract extension the year before Spiller was drafted (2009) and looked great. Even if we were calling Marshawn irrelevant, using the #9 pick on an RB when you just gave a big extension to another good RB is dumpster fire franchise mentality.
  12. My friends were chatting about the “dark ages” and the CJ Spiller draft came up. Most of you will recall, the team already had Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson on the roster, with about a billion other holes. Despite this, new Bills GM Buddy Nix selected CJ Spiller 9th overall. A few months later, he flipped Marshawn for a fourth round and conditional fifth round pick. So… I went down a rabbit hole, curious how egregious team building like this could even happen. And I present to you, Buddy Nix’s introductory Press Conference: https://www.buffalobills.com/video/buddy-nix-named-general-manager-1002411 Compare this to our current operation. Yes, Josh has elevated the franchise, but there’s more to Buffalo’s rise than just one man. It’s refreshing to look back and see the difference. (Before anyone says anything, my apologies for slandering Ralph. We are forever grateful to the man who created the team we all love!)
  13. The Titans have Calvin Ridley and nobody else for their #1 overall selection QB to throw to. That tells you how bad Burks must be either physically or mentally.
  14. Ok… so, who then? Are you going to pick a guy who just wasn’t good at football? I’m picking the guy who was suspended for domestic abuse while on the team, lied about his health, AND didn’t live up to the contract.
  15. I almost made a new thread about this, but suppose we can just discuss here. Is Von the most hated Buffalo Bill in recent history? The domestic violence suspension, underperforming the contract, saying he’d be back in a week then staying out the year… I think he redeemed himself a bit by agreeing to the incentive laden contract last year (which was likely to try to game the system around his suspension)… but I think he’s my #1 most hated. Willis McGahee is a close #2 with the trash talking of Buffalo women on his way out. What an awful regime to draft him in the 1st when we already had Travis Henry and he had just completely torn his ACL.
  16. One more note on this. I'm really happy that Beane got in front of this an mentioned it when he was drafted. Seems like a lot of due diligence was completed and this will fade away soon.
  17. Total nutcase and distraction to the Dolphins for minimal return. Ya love to see it.
  18. Cordy Glenn was never that good at pulling... but he and Sammy Watkins were on the Bills at the same time. They should have installed a WR screen with LT sprinting out wide to block. Boom. Watkins Glenn.
  19. Wow, you must be fun at parties. How can someone be so miserable about a Defensive End that has some upside (we hopefully agree on that) on a 1 year $12M deal?
  20. How about coaches and GMs being honorable and never cutting players for underperforming? Lets make every contract fully guaranteed, while we’re being honorable.
  21. Have you seen a picture of Luke Keuchly coming out of college? You might consider the same line of thought with Cooper DeJean who was an absolute menace his rookie year.
  22. ::clutches pearls:: Oh heavens! A playing holding a mystery substance in the offseason?? Players beat women and hit people with their car and don't have their contract voided.
  23. Kincaid played one season of high school football. He caught one pass in 2020, then he played two years of college ball before coming to the Bills. Expecting him to be "plug and play" at the position that typically requires the most ramp up time is ridiculous. On the Edmunds note, you say he didn't have an OBVIOUS replacement. How about Terrel Bernard, who was drafted by the Bills in the 3rd round of 2022 despite Edmunds being on the roster? He played behind Edmunds an entire year, then became a great starter immediately in 2023 the moment Edmunds left. Is that not an obvious replacement? I'm opting out on the rest of this thread. Enjoy.
  24. It is so ridiculous that after one of the best rookie seasons at Tight End ever, people are completely out on Dalton Kincaid in year 2. Saying Edmund is a failed Day 1 pick is equally ridiculous. He signed a massive contract in the offseason and has experienced plenty of success in the NFL. He's a failure by Beane because we didn't sign him to that overpaid contract? No. Here are some noteworthy Day 2 picks the last 4 years: O'Cyrus Torrence, Dorian Williams, James Cook, Terrel Bernard, Spencer Brown. I don't know where this mentality started of criticizing Beane at every juncture, but he's a good GM. Be glad he's with the organization.
  25. What did they say that indicates they think he’s a 1-Tech? To my knowledge, they said the opposite. They specifically mentioned Carter as the potential 1T backup to Jones.
