We desperately need Elam to click with Tre most likely starting slow. Cook is the guy I'm most excited to see. And Haack better not make this team over Araiza. Bernard will get his opportunities.

Albert Breer (MMQB) on the Dan Patrick Show
LABILLBACKER replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall
Both Vikings plays sealed it for me. Transformative player.... -
Couldn't agree more. I know Tremaine has his loyal die hard following, but there's just as many fans like myself who have never been convinced. The fact he hasn't got extended yet speaks volumes. I think this contract season for him will be good but nothing spectacular. He'll do what he always does "taking up defensive space" without any substantial splash plays. I could easily see McB let 49 test the market and someone will overpay. Take whatever $ you would've spent on Edmunds and lock up Ed. McDermott will find a hybrid replacement without spending 14M.

Bills are 1 pt Favorite Versus the Rams
LABILLBACKER replied to RoyBatty is alive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. Could care less if McD wins any awards. Just get past this KC nonsense and win it all. Stafford on pitch count after procedure and Ramsey on PUP probably the reason we're a slight favorite. Could see it at -1.5 by gameday. -
Give me this year's defense with a healthy Tre and Von Miller teaching Elam & Groot the ropes. No more pressures and hurries. I want sacks.....

Jerry Sullivan weighs in on 2022-23 season !
LABILLBACKER replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. Yes we're excited and extremely optimistic, but we're hardly lining up for a parade or pretending to polish our imaginary Lombardi. This team will have to execute, especially the defense. -
Watching every single college game he played, I never thought he'd end up a complete bust. Apparently Mora was right, football just wasn't a priority to him.

Just like Baltimore will....

I'm in the same boat. Because SoFi is such an incredibly over the top stadium, everything is 10x more than it should be. Watching the game in Laughlin with family and flying out to Buffalo later in the season.

I think if McDermott can clean up his playoff defense and avoid any more brain farts, Josh is more than capable of matching Ben's 2 rings and gold jacket.

What season as a fan do you wish 2022 avenges for you?
LABILLBACKER replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
If we win the SB it avenges all of them. There isn't one that stands out over another. It avenges all the crap years of the 80's. All the lost SB's of the 90's. The music city/ Robo-Flutie debate craziness. Then the drought years. It's ALL a collective. One Championship wipes them all away. -
At my age of 63, I'm heading into the 4th quarter. After experiencing so many heartbreaking outcomes I'm simply go to sit back and soak all this in. Let the hype continue. We've got a transformative QB and maybe the best Owner/GM/HC Combo in our history. Maybe they'll come a day where JA gets the breaks that TB got. We're the media darling....We're the favorite....and we're going to finally get this done.

Locked on Bills Podcast: A Case for Tremaine Edmunds
LABILLBACKER replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall
Your absolutely right, it's almost impossible to statistically quantify his space eating contribution. And I also agree he will probably have a slight uptick in performance this fall because of his contract year. The organization will have a challenging decision after this season. My gut still says to move on but I can appreciate the argument of those to keep him. This may basically boil down to $? -

Shaw you make some very good points regarding TE's contributions. The problem is his ability to "take up space" doesn't translate to keeping good offensive teams like KC/ from completing passes. Hill and Kelce both caught those balls over the middle during those last 2 plays. They didn't attack outside. I just can't justify Tremaine staying on this team with all his flaws. The negative outweighs the positive. Especially at 15M/ yr. I'd rather spend that money on Oliver, Knox and future pass rush support. -

LABILLBACKER replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's never going to be a monster player but considering this is his contract year I wouldn't be surprised to see an uptick in his play. As others have accurately stated if they were going to extend him it would have happened by now. We're not paying him what he'll ( and his agent) will demand. It's not like he did anything against Kelce while we were giving up 80 points in our last 2 playoff loses. Besides this is a passing league and we're a Nickel team like you said. Invest the money on our pass rush. -
I don't think this regime will ever burn another 1st round pick on a LB unless someone transformative falls in their lap. I can see Tremaine having a decent contract year but I wouldn't hold my breath for too many wow splash plays. Maybe Sean thought he could turn him into Keuckly which was never going to happen. I would let him walk and put all that money toward Poyer, Oliver and Knox. Bernard & Dodson can hold down the fort.
