MAJBobby will not be pleased by this breaking story. Sometimes you have a brain fart and sometimes your brain simply detonates. -

Corbett & Jones....ok that's it....cap spent.....goodnight. -
Yeah " he did a phenomenal job the first meeting with KC, so let's not use him the 2nd time. It's not his turn in rotation". 🙄
-
Oh I have no doubt once he gets a better pass rusher, he'll scrub this rotation.
-
So true, if you want Phillip's you better do it in the 4th. He'd be a very good slot wr. Because of Tre being out to start the season we'll probably be forced to go CB early. Like Travis Jones at 57. Yup, if you want Ariaza you also better do it in the 4th.
-
Not a fan of the DL rotation. If we actually had an all pro or elite Dlineman we wouldn't be bringing him out other than the occassional rest. This upcoming season I want to see Ed & Groot get way more snaps. And if we can miraculously land a big name pass rusher, we better let him play 70%+ of the snaps. Bring in AJE or Boogie only as depth. Identify your best players and play them.
-
Interesting that DJ has Linderbaum at 26 and Williams at 27. If we can get a couple random unexpected players drafted early (like the Raiders always do), we're going to have some real good choices at 25. After watching our 3 DE's kinda have quiet seasons, I say full steam ahead on offensive picks. Get your pass rusher by FA or trade.

Not exactly, the whole idea is to get younger. I would rotate Berrios & McKenzie at slot and give Berrios 100% of the return duties. Cut Beasley (33) and Sanders (34). Try to sign Berrios to 6/yr and Lil Dirty to 5/ yr. If either or both want more, than keep Beasley on a more friendly short term restructure. I just think Cole's tank is almost empty. Either way we'll need a return guy and Beasley, McKenzie & Stevenson are not the answer. Cordarrelle would be nice but more expensive than all 3 of these guys. -

Wouldn't pay a dime over 6/yr for Berrios but I would love his return skills on this team. Wouldn't pay Ogbah over 10 because of his run stop deficiencies. Sign a younger Kyle Allen. It's interesting once you research what these guys want, all of a sudden they're not exactly value guys. Maybe a couple come here to win a SB on a friendly deal? -

At first I thought Ogbah would project to 10M/yr. I was wrong, he projects to 15.5 which is getting into Chandler Jones territory. I need more than 8-9 sacks for 15-17M. -

https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2769275-braxton-berrios-nfl-draft-2018-scouting-report-for-new-england-patriots-pick.amp.html He led the NFL in kickoff return avg. He was 2nd in punt return avg. Cole is almost 33 and will be slowing down. We can't exactly trust McKenzie or Stevenson on returns. He is young, quick (4.44) and could easily rotate with Isaiah in the slot. Remember nobody shines when they go to the Jets. His projected contract would be around 5.9/yr. That's not exactly breaking the bank. Just sayin? -

Yikes....maybe Aaron can pay for part of that. -
JC Jackson not happy with Pats approach to him as a FA

He's not getting 17M from us. Besides I think we either go CB or WR at 25. And it wouldn't shock me to see us draft another CB in later rounds. -

Love the idea of Ogbah & Berrios. And if Beasley is gone, you can still try to sign McKenzie to a team friendly deal. -
One UFA you'd like the Bills to sign? (realistically)
LABILLBACKER replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we have enough for both Ogbah and Berrios. Players like Chandler Jones, Von Miller, Gesicki and Kirk will cost 12-17. Too rich for Beane's blood. -
Spotrac spitballs C. Kirk & C. Williams to Bills
LABILLBACKER replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah I was hoping he was a little faster than that. He's projected around 11.7/yr. We just don't have that cap. Sign McKenzie as your slot guy for alot less and say goodbye to Beas & Sanders. You could still go after Jameson Williams. -
You're right. To finally get to a SB and win one we'll need an elite pass rusher. Jones would be great but we can't afford 17M which is what he's projected. I'm torn but leaning toward a offense heavy draft (Jameson, Linderbaum etc) over taking another 1st round risk on a Jordan Davis or pass rusher. Maybe Ogbah on a cheaper fa deal? Alot will ride on how Rousseau, AJE and Boogie develop??
-
Protect your #1 asset. Continue to improve the OL. Enhance our running game. Call a few less designed 17 runs and continue to let him scramble when necessary. I don't know where our elite pass rusher will come from? Maybe FA or trade a pick?

1. Bills fan since 1969 at 10. Marveled at the way OJ ran and decided to follow him to wherever he landed. So haunting I'd drive by the Brentwood crime scene at 7am some 25 years later. News hadn't even broken yet. 2. First memory was probably watching OJ run for 200 to get to 2003 against the Jets. I'll also always remember Joe Ferguson gutting it out against the Chargers. 3. My favorite Bills memory would be Josh jumping over Anthony Barr. That play set the stage for his future stardom. 4. Favorite player all time..... Thurman Favorite player now...... Josh Allen 5. Born, raised & live in LA my whole life. Enjoyed Sundays at the LA Billbacker bar at Bobby McGees in Burbank with John Mammoser and the gang. Busby's in Santa Monica is now the place to be.

LABILLBACKER replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
You really don't find it odd the NFL would completely relax protocols (testing) for the revenue generated by the playoffs, and then announce a combine bubble. Last year those protocols were completely necessary based on the numbers. This year as numbers and mask mandates fall accross the nation, I think its appropriate that some of these protocols need to be relaxed too. Just like they were for the playoffs. -

LABILLBACKER replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just so hypocritical that the NFL shuts down all testing right before the playoffs and now they reboot some very unnecessary protocols. Time to turn this pandemic into endemic phase please. And yes the teams want the medicals and interviews as top priority. The rest (40's, etc) are just gravy. Most of these guys will do pro days anyway. -
Taiwan Jones on About The Game Pod (Squib related)
LABILLBACKER replied to essential's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Hill was back there I'd go touchback. But Hardman can be contained or even baited to a return rather than a fair catch. Forcing them to burn that 4 seconds is paramount. But there's always that risk. Sean showed conviction to his philosophy (process) and somehow Farwell and the message was never properly delivered. That's why for 3 1/2 quarters I have no problem with Sean being "process guy" and allowing his assistants to do their job. But when the game comes down to a critical high leverage moment you need a Pete Carroll or Sean McVay type running down the sidelines. It might undermine your assistants to some degree but it could eliminate communication failures. Belichick does this all the time.
