I think more accurately its.... 1. We find him mediocre, not terrible. 2. There are always a handful of teams that would be convinced they could benefit from him, even at 12M. 3. If I could get a 3rd and lose that contract, then trying to sign a Wagner becomes very attractive.

I want Chandler Jones more than any FA. But I don't know if we can afford more than a 14-15/yr contract. Put more guaranteed to lessen the cap blow. If Shaq is returning it better be cheap as a rotational player.

So true. The idea of BPA as a drafting strategy should be strongly considered. But you said it perfectly that some need has to be "baked in" to every pick, regardless of round. Every team has a different draft board. Not everyone values the same players equally. There could be 10 players available at 25 that are infinitesimally equal in whatever BPA metric you use. Take the need. We need the speed.....

Bates was a breath of fresh air. Daryl plays reasonable at RG. Maybe we get an extra 3rd for Trubisky and use that on IOL. This team needs more offensive weapons and speed. If players like Williams, Hall, Walker or Pierce are available, you pounce. We'll find good OL later like we did with Spencer.
