I'm not as concerned about CB since I'm convinced we'll select a CB2 in rounds 1 or 2. But I'll be beyond disappointed if we fail to land a semi elite DE. I can hear Andy laughing now.

That's the problem. We lead the planet in 1000 hurries, pressures and hits. We just get zero sacks. Last I checked Mahomes can still complete a pass when pressured. But I've never heard of a qb in the history of the NFL complete a pass when sacked. Settling for a philosophy of being content with pressure is not working.

You can't beat KC or good AFC playoff teams with defensive JAGS. He's gotta know this. You keep schlepping guys like Murphy, Addison or Hughes out there is counterproductive. And newsflash other than maybe Rousseau, these other 2 youngins probably don't stick.

I'd be lying if I wasn't concerned about AJE & Boogie. In his 2nd season I was expecting Epenesa to break out and he didn't. Groot will need a 6-8 sack kind of season to quell my concerns about his 2nd year. With all this said we need a double digit sack artist. And yes it's going to cost. Our DT improvements will help but we need more. We can't expect older guys like Hughes to get there anymore.

I think McDermott's loyalty to Star as a Panther was an extremely poor and expensive decision. And for 4 years he held out hope that Edmunds would be his Keuckly. Now I see some better decisions being made. Settle & Jones are substantially better than Butler & Phillips. And who knows, maybe Jordan Davis is still in play as Star's replacement? Definitely reason for "personnel" optimism.
