These discussions get to be so stupid. As another poster pointed out, even Shady failed to mention the 20-30 mph gusts that 2 of Josh's games have been in , and the other home game a torrential rain storm. (look at the GOAT Brady's #'s from the other night in a torrential rain storm) This is not Apples to Apples Which is the same reason why Jim Kelly's numbers were never as pretty as some of his peers that he was better than. Guys who played in domes or sunny and warm states. It's gonna be that way for Josh's career too. Numbers are just numbers. These talking heads like Nick really suck people into false conclusions.

It seems like most conference championship games for whatever reason are reffed that way. As some others have said, I think when that happens, its on the Bills D to follow suit and clutch/grab. I don't recall a lot of flags on our secondary in the AFCCG (more just wide open Chiefs all over the place) but I could be wrong.
-
incorrect - see my quotes of the rule I added to my original post. Not a single thing about turning the head is involved in interference. You are literally now allowed to wait til the ball hits a guy's hand while starring right in his face and then make a play on it. This has been the case for many years at this point.

Not sure if this has been covered in this thread yet, but to me one of the biggest hurdles the Bills offense will need to overcome in this game (and the reason I have my doubts we can win in KC) will be - KC's defense will do it just like they did in the AFCCG and allow the Bills offense to get set until there are 6 or 7 seconds left on the play clock and then shift into a different coverage (much like what the Bills D does to others), forcing a last second adjustment by Allen to communicate to the team while immense crowd noise is underway. If we don't have a better answer for that this season, the offense isn't going to be able to take advantage of any pre-snap mismatches. I'm sure the team is aware of this and has attempted to address it, but we haven't seen it in action as of yet.

No sir from a technical standpoint. The refs have been trained out of that for 2 decades at this point. Human nature however play a role at times where a ref may assume something happened that didn't because a guy isn't looking for the ball. That would just be bad reffing at that point though.

Wallace, like every other Cb2 would on teams not named the Dolphins, will have his struggles vs. KC for sure! That doesn't mean we should get Gilly to play zone for 15 mil. can't do it for that price.. doesn't work. He is a mostly man coverage defender. If he would take less and the coaches think he can play in our scheme, sure but that's not gonna happen likely. And no, you DO NOT need to turn your head around in coverage. That is a 100% myth. They stopped enforcing that long ago. The in-broadcast refs that they have in many games these days have gone over this many times in their evals on interference calls. You're not alone in believing that its still a thing, but you're wrong. example- "Jay Stark , Two years working for an NFL team & 20 years working for the league. Answered December 23, 2015 Originally Answered: Is it pass interference if a defensive back never looks back at the quarterback when the ball is thrown to the receiver? It is 'defensive' pass interference only if there is contact by the DB that inhibits the ability of the receiver to make the catch. He can go in front of the receiver, making incidental contact, in order to catch the ball. He may not drive through the receiver to make the catch. There is no rule that either the receiver or the defender must ever look back for the ball. It just makes sense for both of them to do so. While the ball is in the air, it is pass interference if either offensive or defensive player(s) inhibits (using contact) the ability of the opposing player, to catch the ball." and... " Richard Livornese Answered September 26, 2013 Originally Answered: Is it pass interference if a defensive back never looks back at the quarterback when the ball is thrown to the receiver? What you describe is sometimes referred to as 'face guarding'. There was a time when this was a penalty in the NFL- it no longer is. Unless the defender makes contact with the receiver, it is not a penalty. (See Rule 8 Sec. 5 Article 1 in the NFL Rule book for the complete definition of what is pass interference as well as some things that are not)" And another - https://blogs.usafootball.com/blog/691/ask-the-official-face-guarding-in-itself-is-illegal-only-within-high-school-rules

yep, Ravens play almost exclusively man and lost Peters, their one big time corner, so there's the fit.
-
Sure for the right price (not the highest bidder price being touted) and if he can play in a mostly zone off coverage scheme. I think he'll make a much better Raven.
-
its funny that you think Wallace played poorly in game 1. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you that we could upgrade cb2, but in that game his "interference" was questionable at best (no, you don't need to turn your head around as a corner. That rule was removed in like the 90's) and he had literally perfect coverage and even got a piece of the ball on the D Johnson TD play. He 100% did not play poorly in that game. The Steelers had their 1 healthy game and we basically shut down their running and passing game. Bottom line is with a franchise QB on the books now, we can't have all the pretty toys we want at every position. The Wallaces of the world sometimes have to be enough in those spots (like cb2) for the big picture to work.

Raiders vs Chargers MNF Game thread

Heard that. And said that Mahomes and Herbert were the best 2 young QBs in the game. No mention of our boy. -
It will be interesting to see this week's match-up of Spencer Brown vs. Chris Jones if Jones continues to play left end as he has been (and if this remains our starting 5).
-
As many have stated here recently, I don't think the Bills can afford to keep Brown off the starting O-line for too much longer, if any longer at all. He's "getting up to speed" at a rapid rate (go figure, he's really smart) and has the talent, strength, and reach (size) to stalemate ANY defensive player in the NFL. Hopefully a healthy Williams will succeed at guard moving forward. Brown seems like a fantastic pick for this team!

What was up with Beasley today?
34-78-83 replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hopefully he'll get THOUSANDS of replies like he's been getting and realize that if ANY Bills fans are booing, its clearly just a tiny percentage. Nobody in our area in 335 has booed him in any of the games yet that I've noticed. -

paranoia can be overwhelming to some as we can see here. Shame. -

Someone with Twitter know if fans are re-tweeting him letting him know the fans definitely AREN'T booing him? Cole is making himself look pretty silly here. -

I doubt we beat KC in KC. Sucks, but I just don't quite think we're there yet.. I feel like we ARE closer than last year... Doesn't mean we're not a SB contender! Does mean we'll likely need to find a way to the #1 seed in order to get them at home in the playoffs. Hoping I am off here and we can upset them. -
Once again, it has to be mentioned... There was no rainbow touch pass that was going to work in the WFT game and the 18 to 20 mph gusts. Every pass literally had to be gunned in there to get to the intended WR and Josh did that, thankfully. While I certainly agree there are at least 10 better long ball throwers than Josh (which I get is your main point) I also think its a lot easier to look good in that area when you play in a dome or a warm weather region.

Zach Moss needs to be the lead back
34-78-83 replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1st down where though? Between the 20's that should be Singletary against most opponents as long as we are in 11 or 10 personnel. -

Round and Round we go! 🤪 Both guys have specific skill sets that work for this team differently on a game by game basis. It's a committee approach. The team seems fully content with that. Likely, barring injury or the fumble doghouse, we'll see each of them leading different games in touches. -
9/26/21 Bills vs. WTF Postgame Thread

The Ravens v Bills playoff game was no environment to throw a lot of passes in at a high completion rate for any QB. The national experts and tv watching fans never seem to factor this into how they review player performances, because honestly they don't know. That was not a game that can be cited as an example of inconsistent QB play as part of any theoretical "Streak" of lesser performance. Plus the Ravens had a playoff caliber defense. Things like that matter. -
