I was actually the reason they lost the game
34-78-83 replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How did I miss this thread? It was CLEARLY my fault, folks. I am so sorry. While I was at the game with my father and son, my GF was on a historical cemetery tour back in Rochester. At approximately 2:26 PM EST she texted me a pic of a grave stone of a man who passed and had a Bills helmet engraved on his stone. Her intent was to show me what a big fan he must have been, but of course this totally backfired and the Bills grave had already been dug for the day -
Alpha's Good, the bad, and the ugly week 1...

regarding the above, I submit this video evidence: I am surprised you didn't make mention of the gusts as part of your visit to the stadium, but for sure it affected both QB's on multiple throws. Glad you enjoyed your time in the area! Good choices of places to check out too! -
ESPN's MNF broadcast is unwatchable

I loved the Mannings (always enjoy their banter) considering it was a game I wasn't overly invested in. For a game I really care about I prefer the standard broadcast, or trying to sync the radio broadcast with the TV. -
Was Allen off some yesterday and feeling that Pittsburgh rush? Yes for sure! Now - Did EITHER team remotely complete any short OR long TOUCH PASSES with any consistency? Did any of you see fairly common throws from both QB's go over the head of the target or even suddenly into the dirt? If you answered No and Yes you are correct, AND isn't that odd that both QB's seemed affected equally with those? Last question - did any of you who attended the game throw the football around in the parking lot at all, or see any who were doing so? Just asking. There are many factors that affect each game uniquely. To clarify - this is for the other complaints in Josh's game yesterday discussed in this thread, not regarding the fumbles!

That was a loud one indeed what with us all basically celebrating our first SB trip in the 2nd quarter and on, haha! -

That was the big bummer for us yesterday! What a return to action it was for us fans in a full stadium, and the noise levels reminded my family and I of the 90's levels in there. It was amazing (and our seats are at the 300 level where sound can kind of bleed off at lower levels) for the entire game. My voice is shot 😉 -

Super gusty today. Was certainly also a factor on this play -

Agree on the OL. Our defense played well today on the whole. Gave up under 300 I think? Blocked punt isn’t on them -

For any of you that weren’t there, the winds gusted all day long and affected both qb’s greatly. The O line was indeed awful today and Josh wasn’t on the top of his game, but I haven’t seen anyone talking about the winds today. Both qb’s completion percentages and accuracy were greatly affected. -
I think he's talking as much there about gap responsibility in Reggie's scheme vs. Bruces, and which OL positions that required them to face as literally who they faced, but then again I could be wrong.

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 3
34-78-83 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are the smart a$$ of smart a$$es on this board ( you already know this lol) however …touché it looks like the bears switched to a 4-2-5 last season, so congrats on R Smith to T Edmunds being an apples to apples comparison. Point taken. Still, you’re going back and forth with somebody who agrees with you that Edmunds needs to make more impact plays. Look back to why I said your point was valid in the first place. And why so many other gripes about Edmunds are invalid. -

While I understand the X’s and O’s Of the game at a pretty high level for a fan, I defer to the analysis of the experts such as the ones I mentioned. Does R Smith play mostly in Nickel in a cover 2,3,4 scheme? I do not know but I know the Bills use a 6 man front more than most teams. -

I understand your angle however It’s much safer and more accurate to judge him via film review ( ie Turner, or your own) than Vs his peers who don’t necessarily play a 2 lb nickel scheme with the same type of responsibilities. It allows you to see what his role in the defense is much more clearly. With that said I agree he needs to make more impact plays to earn that big second contract. -

While funny, You cannot possibly be comparing Edmunds and Mike Williams. One is considered an upper 3rd lb by his peers and other coaches while the other never had an ounce of success in the pros. -

The key to your point’s validity ( my opinion) is that Edmunds hasn’t made a lot of game changing plays. That’s certainly accurate. Judging him as a 1990’s 4-3 MLB ( which is what most of his critics do) would be inaccurate. He is a Nickel backer ( our formation 90% of the time) whose importance to McD’s scheme is mostly related to his length and ability to alter passing lanes or to run and tackle the short routes. I don’t really see the op as making excuses as much as trying to point that out. Edmunds certainly needs to make more impact plays this season. -

Careful with this one. Keep in mind that players develop, especially under this staff. Lot’s of true film analysts ( cover 1 Erik Turner , etc) have stated he’s by far ( like not close) our best run blocker and is fairing decently enough in pass pro this off season. -
Glad to see this is still happening. Been a while fellas!

Davante Adams or Darren Waller would make this great offense nearly unstoppable. I'll go with Adams. -
It was cute to see the Peterman > Zay connection out there in game 1 🙃

Alphas Roster Stab 2.0 (after first preseason game)

Yep as mentioned I figured it was one of the 2 typical reasons between player value and knowing what they have in a player. With Jones he offers little outside of teams so… -

I've been thinking similarly. But then I learned this evening that Jones didn't play in the Detroit game, which leads me to conclude that Jones is in the "let's not risk injury to this valued player" group, or at least the "we already know and are satisfied with what we have in him" group. Whichever group he's in, those are guys that are usually retained on to the 53.
