  1. honestly- I hope they don’t dwell on the end of game. He must get it and if he doesn’t you aren’t reaching him.
  2. they held a good offense to 5 points below league average through the end of regulation. im not saying they were GREAT but they had an above average game. our offense, played below average. And has more resources than sometimes given credit. Josh is a huge investment. Morse is big. Beasley and Brown aren’t insignificant spends. Singletary, ford and Dawkins are all high picks. I’d venture Knox, smith and kroft add up as above average investment at the position (Kroft paid average/slightly above starter money smith low starter/elite back up, and the rookie a day 2 pick). They need a WR1 but aren’t totally neglected. Our leader definitely led the way, doc. It’s ok to say the end wasn’t great for anyone but was awful for someone
  3. and yet, they’ve never gotten them out of line with the rules. A relatively simple formula
  4. we gave up 2 touchdowns in 3 quarters after half time. This wasn’t an epic defensive collapse. It was an above average game from the unit. They shouldn’t have to be historically good at all times.
  5. conventional wisdom IS that you get the stars AND depth right now. Pretty much every team with a young qb does it for a reason. for some reason a lot of our base prefers we remain modest and scrappy instead.
  6. it’s been completely predictable as it’s a relatively simple system
  7. plenty of us have been getting hammered for saying you need stars to win in this league for the duration of this regime. tre is a star on D and made a huge play. We need that guy that can get after the qb reliably in the biggest moment, the pass catcher, and hopefully Allen. we just burned one of our easiest opportunities to pair those stars with a great supporting cast.
  8. that the alternative is ripping a bandaid that might hurt isn’t as convincing an argument as you seem to think. if someone doesn’t believe in Allen or McD, it doesn’t mean they have to deliver you a slam dunk alternate path to the championship. we will see. Lots of red flags, but also some reasons to be hopeful. A lot of teams can say similar. But you’re going to shred any plan given, because you don’t believe we are walking the wrong path. you aren’t asking for insight, you are asking for someone to volunteer to be a victim to your frustration
  9. a lot to unpack there (Darnold a franchise qb?!?) but at its core- good teams beat bad teams and split with their peers. We are pretty close to that, if they can keep consistency. and while they weren’t perfect the D held a good Texans offense to below league average points with an extra quarter of play. While they had a signature flub play to point at they still did more than should be expected in this league and did it against a good team. this ones on the offense and contrary to popular opinion plenty of that lands on their first half performance too, not just the melt down.
  10. you should re-evaluate some priorities in your life. its a shame but to let something you have no control over and that has no direct effect on your life carry that much weight is unhealthy Sven
  11. you may as well ask who do you think has the next young franchise qb if the answers us, definitely. If not, we are in the spin cycle with the rest of them for the foreseeable future.
  12. jokes aside, on that Cunningham hit he may have been and I was a little surprised they didn’t check him - though it’d take A LOT for the official to make that call
  13. giving josh a lot of credit for being cool, calm, aware of the entire field and making calculated decisions during an absolute melt down. that guy isn’t your FB with 3 yards/game average. You let brown and beas make plays.
  14. I know Allen was walking out like ain’t no thing after the run. It’s possible they gave him a “rush to the line and do this” instruction before the snap and he ignored it though. regardless, that sequence lands on him too for sure and is one of my knocks in his first half. A strong coach/qb VERY rarely see that sequence unfold like that and it’s not been rare that they flub it when the clocks ticking down It’s still a tough play to a guy you’ve kept inactive all year. With a timeout in your pocket there are plenty of ways that last 30 seconds okay out and that includes a solid 2 additional shots, and having the rest of the field available for plays instead of a spike and fast dart to duke
  15. how they didn’t have two plays in to Allen there is beyond comprehension
  16. does it give you pause that an official working his 21st(?) game of the season thought this was unique behavior for a returner in games he’s called?
  17. I haven’t gone back to watch a replay, honestly. So it could be out of the norm. But of the reasons we lost, or conspiracies against us- I’ll have a hard time getting fired up on this one, pretty much no matter what.
  18. Ultimately the Texans should score a pair of tds, and I don’t care if it’s the 3rd and 4th quarter or 2nd and 4th. They held a good offense to under league average points even through an extra quarter. the guys in defense weren’t perfect by any means but we are talking an above average day from a defense vs the offense not scoring a TD after the first drive and having a historic dumpster fire at the end
  19. would really not matter if he went down and they never gave him the ball back. its just good situational awareness
  20. They just gave them a ton of yards free
  21. Shouldn’t have run it in
  22. Wasn’t moving forward
  23. I think you have to add a true reliable 1, and a good developmental player (By that I mean a vet or TOP pick, plus a mid rounder). That takes 4 spots. Leaves Roberts and the gang fighting for 2 max
