After tonight’s sad but free advertisement, the rest of the NFL knows we’re contending for top draft picks. KB, McCoy, and Lawson are obviously on the block. Other FOs are probably salivating over our defensive players. I have zero confidence McBeane and co could pass up picks for our best. Sounds like a process move to trade a Hughes for late round picks. Here’s hoping the fire sale nets us a profit and not a net roster loss.
Like this franchise, the rules of probability don’t seem to apply to us. We defied the odds for the playoff drought, Peterman defies the odds for bad luck/jitters/voodoo curse/whatever is wrong with him.
Take the Texans game, he actually was on the way to actually winning one and putting one shred of doubt in people’s minds as to whether or not he was the worse QB ever when he had competency diarrhea.
But I would agree with starting him once mathematically eliminated. Why not use him? Allen might actually do great. Then where would we be? 6-10 and back in the #16-18 pick like usual.
As it was repeated ad nauseam, I know it’s only preseason, and I’m still totally not panicking. But say, hypothetically, we don’t run the table and finish 11-5. At what point do you start taking back your Sundays?
I’ve started using that in arguments with the wife. When she says “you always (or never) <insert complaint>,” I say “Well I’m going to look at the tape and make the best decision for our marriage right now.” Hopefully she thinks I’m doing the best I can with this relationship rebuild and give me another year without firing me.
Warm up some crow because I’m starving to eat it. Nothing would make me happier than to be wrong about Peterman and him to be anything more than a punchline.
Lets be real: the odds of us winning 7 of our remaining games are low and the McBeane regime obviously believes it with how they’ve handled the QB situation. So Peterman is starting if only because he’s a warm body.
The real question of this thread is “Do you start Peterman or Anderson?” Because Allen is definitely hurt and I think worse than they’re letting on to prevent tank mode talk.
I don’t fault anyone for not having a crystal ball and passing on Mahomes. I do however fault the entire organization at every stage for not recognizing what Peterman is.
A couple of things have me optimistic about the game: the right side of their OL was a turnstile and the team doctors took a look at Watson after that drive at the end of regulation. He’s got to be feeling that cumulative effect of all of those unnecessary hits.
Update: Multiple News Outlets Publish Titans Win
Titans win?
I had terrible reception so I couldn’t follow at work. But NFL.com says the Bills won. Someone help clarify.
