  1. Why would the Patriots have released him if he was still any good? They needed a WR but still decided to cut bait and get Mohamed Sanu instead, so that speaks volumes to me.
  2. I really like him.
  3. So you're saying that was better than the situation Josh Rosen entered into?
  4. I think it's probably because they are basically built to defend the pass. DL is relatively small and LB are fast, rangy types as opposed to thumpers. So if their techniques aren't spot on you may be able to occasionally overpower them. I don't think clapping has much to do with it.
  5. I wouldn't assume that. They have a lot of cap room to continue to bring in pieces (WR, OT) and will have to replace Lorenzo Alexander and Lawson for sure, and probably Gore as well so there will be significant changes. Hopefully they will be improvements but it won't be the same roster.
  6. a) I think he's right. b) Even if he's wrong, what do you expect him to say? "There were players available that could help us but we decided not to spend the money."?
  7. Chan was actually the best game manager that the Bills had in the drought era. I know it's not a high bar, but he was light years ahead of the other clowns.
  8. They're both practicing with the team. I think that if/when the coaches think that Taylor can help them more than Petko they will certainly activate him. I don't think anyone will scoop Petko up off waivers if they want to put him back on the PS.
  9. If you watched the two of them run up the middle last week you could see the difference. There is a big difference between the two between the tackles.
  10. Well they don't have Harrison Phillips, who played against all those guys. Also, no one tried running right at the center until Miami did after he went out. That's one possible explanation anyway.
  11. McD said the poor run defense it was about "fundamentals" and "technique" and only mentioned the usual culprit, a bad "fit", on the long run right after halftime. To me, that sounds like it's about the players getting handled and not about scheme errors. So I don't think that's something you can easily fix in a week. They either need to change the scheme, get new players, or wait for their current players to gradually improve over several weeks.
  12. Agree. Plus, this is built into their offense. Without Allen running the ball they don't have enough carries available between Gore's and Singletary to even run the ball as much as they are doing it.
  13. He's doing great to this point, IMO. He was very raw coming out of college and was totally thrown to the wolves with this pass happy offense where he is a major running back too. But if he can survive it I think he will prosper.
  14. It's a passing offense. I don't think that they are going to make getting a dominating RB a priority. Better off looking for OT and WR help if they keep Daboll.
  15. I honestly haven't seen too much Allen bashing today. It's been mostly on the defense and the coaching staff. I know that defending Allen is a knee jerk reaction around here but it's better to save it for his really bad games when he gets criticized.
  16. Well, it's the NFL after all and the Bills aren't the Patriots so I think you have to assume that every game will be tough.
  17. Also, I'm not sure that the 49ers are built to win a championship with Jimmy G at QB. It looks great now but you generally need excellent QB play to win in the playoffs with very, very few exceptions. We'll see if they have it.
  18. He is having a very nice season so far, despite today's debacle.
  19. Just needs a big guy in front of him to keep him clean. You can run right at him but he is great in pursuit and getting better in pass defense too.
  20. I don't agree. Gore has been very good and Singletary doesn't look like he can run in between the tackles well at all.
  21. I agree. This is a passing offense. It's probably not ideal with such a young QB and motley team, but I think the hope is that it will mean faster development than a more conservative concept.
  22. Yeah, beating the Ravens would be a big win. And probably an upset.
  23. Chubb looks good tonight.
  24. Well, it's certainly not going to be very easy to pass either if your OL is getting schooled. Your OL getting beat isn't a run/pass thing.
