Time takes out everybody. It’s undefeated. (credit Rocky Balboa)

He said he was probably going to retire after the season so I think a change is a given.

WR, OT and DE are definite top priority needs. RB, LB and CB are secondary depth related needs, IMO. I would draft OT and WR in the first and second rounds and try to get DE via free agency, if possible. They aren't going to find an impact DE where they are drafting. RB, LB and CB can be a free agents and also probably draft LB and CB as well in the middle rounds.

Yes. One of the primary reasons that teams try FGs on 3rd down is that if it's a bad snap the holder can fall on the ball and they can try again. I like it. Let's give it a try! But only the Bills.
-
Unfortunately, given the premium nature of the position, you're highly unlikely to get a stud DE in the second round. Or even the first where the Bills will pick TBH. Best best is a FA acquisition, IMO. Use the 1st and 2nd round picks for WR and OT. OT. Did you watch the outside rush last night?

There's a reason Nsekhe hasn't been placed on IR. They want him back for the playoffs badly.

True. But I thought we were talking about offensive strategy. Since you are talking about the overall teams however, consider how Leslie Frasier is always talking about not giving the defense more each week that they can process to make sure that the players can "play fast." How "fast" can you play when you are not only learning new plays and formations but even new play calling terminology on a week to week basis?
-
Of course in another thread they are discussing players like Beasley, who seem concerned that the offense is too complicated and changes too much from week to week. He compared it to the one he had in Dallas which was much simpler. The Dallas offens is leading the league is yards per game right now, so I'm not sure which is better.
-
If there was a quick fix that could improve the offense I think the coaching staff would have done it by now. There are lots of areas where the offense can improve but it's going to take at least another offseason to work on them, IMO. In the interim, I think the best thing is to just try and improve the execution each week and slowly get a better.

Bills’ Ed Oliver ‘hurting’ over Jordan Phillips’ Pro Bowl snub
vincec replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought the historical rule of thumb was that you get elected to the pro bowl one year after the first season you should have gone and keep going one year beyond where you should have made it. If Phillips can reproduce something similar to the results from this season then I think next season is his year. -
Jerry Hughes performance of late

Exactly. There are worse DEs on the team that should go before Hughes. -
NFL Next Gen Stats - 6 Most Improved Players of 2019

He has to complete them then. There were some chances according to Daboll. Agree. More talent at OT and WR and some development from guys like Knox and Singletary. -
Well more speed never hurts. That's for sure.
-
I think they can use WRs like Foster or McKenzie on the end around / jet sweeps when they want speed. There are very few breakaway backs who can run between the tackles.
-
Gore is at the end of his career but at this point I still trust him running between the tackles more than Yeldon. Yeldon seems to have the same skill set as Singletary, except not as good. They need to find a power back In the off season as a compliment to Singletary. It’s not Yeldon.

It was sarcasm, since most of the “experts” justify their analysis by stating that they have “reviewed the all-22 multiple times” or watched every play from said player, including Joe B from the OP. But I know that through your colored glasses every post that says something you don’t like is laughable so I don’t take your criticism seriously.
-
I haven't broken down film or anything, but to the naked eye it certainly looks like he has struggled in 1v1 pass protection. However, I think it's crazy to say that he has "sealed his fate" to play guard. The guy is a rookie. I think he deserves a chance to work on his game a little- at least one offseason, at minimum.
-
No. He’s an average, rotational DE. Not worth the 5th year option, IMO. They need to try and find another legitimate pass rusher at the position in the off season. Shaq is good vs the run and provides depth so they should hang onto him or Murphy but not both. If Shaq walks for a big offer then that settles the question of who gets replaced.

It just shows you the differing expectations for the Cowboys versus the Bills.

If Foster Starts Rolling This Team Is Beyond Dangerous
vincec replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw that the Bills are playing 80% of their snaps in 1 TE, 1 RB and 3 WR. Knox is the TE and when they go big with 2 TEs they bring in Lee Smith for blocking so Kroft is basically a backup at this point. -

They’ve beaten a few decent teams, including Baltimore. They have talent. -
the gamesmanship within the gamesmanship
vincec replied to Golden*Wheels's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What’s weird is that in his post game press conference, Garrett said that the Bills did in fact blitz on that play. -
Personally, I don’t think playing a scheme that they aren’t familiar with is a great idea. I would probably use the same run blitzing game plan that they have been using since the second Miami game. Baltimore has a very diverse running game so I think the best bet is to be aggressive and try to dictate the play. If you can create a negative play, then they have to pass. Also, if the offense can jump on them and get in front then you can potentially force them to throw it more than they would like.
-
I think most teams have done this on defense since the 90s. The offense scripts plays to test matchups. The defense scripts to hide their real game plan.

The Bills can still win the #1 seed in AFC
vincec replied to BITE ME's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So it’s basically almost impossible. Besides the Bills winning out (and beating the two best teams in the AFC in the process), NE needs to lose to one of the two worst teams in the conference as well. But I’ll tell you what, if the Bills actually win out then they have a change to win a championship even as a wild card.
