John Brown is leading the AFC in receiving
vincec replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I haven't really studied it carefully, but do the Bills really get that much man coverage underneath with a QB who can run like Allen? What do they do, leave a spy on him? -
Maybe I'm misreading the chart, but doesn't it show that Murphy draws a double team less than the average DE and that, when he is double teamed, he gets off those blocks slower than the average? That doesn't seem like cause for a vindication post.

Yeah, can’t wait to see that... -

Why do you think Tyreek Hill is doing so well? -
Shhh...

I wonder if Ronnie Jones is available?

I like the guy that commented that he wanted to look like Richard Jewell, in honor of the movie coming out. Spot on. If he doesn't call runs on first down then they end up with around 8 carries total in the game.

John Brown showing he can be a #1 WR
vincec replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the focus on getting a "#1 WR" is misplaced. Brown is solid. The problem the team has is that he's apparently the only solid WR they have. Isaiah McKenzie had the second most targets today and he probably couldn't even make a lot of other rosters. -
Steelers Browns: who should get suspended and how long?
vincec replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
These suspensions are mostly about PR. This incident happened on a nationally televised game and is being covered fairy heavily by the national press. Therefore, I suspect a relatively stiff suspension for a first time incident, maybe 4 games. This, of course, will be appealed and probably reduced to 2. -
? Greatest Teams #35 1990 Buffalo Bills
vincec replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The best team not to win the Super Bowl is the 2007 Patriots. -
They didn't come right out and say it at the PCs, but it sure sounded like Allen was confused and Daboll just had them huddle to make sure they got the play straight for the critical 3rd down. In retrospect, taking the TO would probably have been smarter if they were confused. Everyone kept saying that they practice this situation every week, so I guess some of it is on the coaches for not having Allen better prepared.

I agree that the Bills have average to below average overall talent. They jettisoned most of their established players when the new regime got here and are building back very slowly, primarily using the draft. They're $25mm under the salary cap. However they are 6-3 so to me that says that they must be getting pretty good coaching. Yes, they are playing weak teams, but they are beating them. If they had bad talent AND bad coaching they'd be a 1 or 2 win team, like the Redskins for example.

I was thinking the same thing. The Bills aren't the Saints. Even 20%, as subsequently suggested, seems very optimistic given what had happened up to that point in the game. With 15 seconds you basically get 2 plays before you have to kick the FG. If I had to guess, I'd say the chances of Buffalo scoring a TD from the 36 yard line in two plays with the Browns guarding the end zone are less than 5%.

Bills at Browns Post Game Post Mortem
vincec replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you're implying that it will go up after the Miami game, then we'll see. Unfortunately, Miami is no joke anymore, although Allen does seem to play well against them. -

59.9% now for the season and dropping, right? -

There was no way he was getting to Beasley on a progression on that play. The pressure was on him too quick. He needed to recognize the blitz and associated coverage and either look for Beasley right away or adjust the blocking to account for the free pass rusher. -
One forced turnover by Bills D in five weeks
vincec replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In order to force turnovers, you need to pressure the other team's offense into mistakes. They rarely just give them to you. That means a strong pass rush, ideally without blitzing which puts Wallace in man v man coverage, and the Bills don't really have one. -
Hauschka is at 61.5% for the season
vincec replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Correct. He hasn't been good. Good thing they signed him to an extension. -
Bills at Browns Post Game Post Mortem
vincec replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In order to create takeaways you really need to have a strong pass rush to force mistakes by the QB. And the Bills do not. That needs to be addressed in the offseason. -
The New York Times Playoff Machine is active
vincec replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's going to take more than 12 wins to win the division. Patriots aren't going 4-3 the rest of the way. -
This thread is crazy. Everyone has watched the film multiple times and, depending on what post or tweet you read, they've found that: Oliver and Lotoulelei are the best DTs on the team OR they are the worst DTs on the team; Oliver is a pass rushing specialist who struggles against the run OR he is a run defense specialist who is struggling vs the pass; Oliver is playing better each week and is just unlucky to be behind Phillips OR he is getting worse each week and being phased out of defensive rotation; and Oliver is a major bust OR he is on the precipice of greatness.
