  1. I don't want to go in circles here because as I said I agree with the rule for the reasons you an eball stated but the rule is in place to increase the representation of minorities in the coaching ranks, which is a quota based goal. People don't feel that there is enough minority representation coaching. It's not merit based. People weren't saying that coaches stink and if they open up the pool more when they hire then the standard will improve (although this may be the case.) If you are applying for a job with 2 candidates, are your chances better to get it than if there are 10? What about 20? You can say that if you're the best then it doesn't matter but that's not reality because your skills are not measured in a vacuum they are measured against the other applicants. The "best" means better than the other applicants. So if there are lots of other applicants, it's harder to be the "best" (unless you're the best possible candidate in the world I guess.)
  2. So if the rule doesn't improve the chances that a minority gets the job then what's the point of it? Is it just for show? So that more minority candidates are interviewed but actually makes no difference at all to their job prospects? If the rule is designed to increase the chances of minorities getting hired then it reduces the chances of everyone else when there are a finite group of positions.
  3. Barring the unforeseen, like an injury to Mayfield, this seems legit to me. 10 or 11 wins.
  4. Look, I agree with this rule change but it's a zero sum game. There is one HC position available and if you institute a rule to improve the chances of one minority group to get the position then you reduce the chances for the others, by definition. And if this rule doesn't try to improve the chances of a minority to get the position then what's the point of it?
  5. That’s quite a mental image! ?
  6. Evans isn't even top 10, IMO. Lofton and Dubenion have to be in there somewhere.
  7. I agree. This statement is by her attorneys, not Nina Thomas, and have nothing to do with the event in question. It's just a presentation of how awesome she is. The only reference to the event is at the end when they basically just says that this is BS and they will get her out of it.
  8. The man was an icon.
  9. When the highlight reel shows all open field tackles and almost no pass defenses or interceptions, you know that they guy is a special teams prospect all the way.
  10. I mean, Glass got injured taking a knee on a kickoff return...
  11. Expectations are rising and just making the playoffs isn't going to be good for much longer. They need their QB to pan out.
  12. If Allen doesn't pan out then McDermott and Beane are most likely gone, IMO. This is one of those cases where there is no plan B, there is only plan A. And they need to do everything to make it work.
  13. I get what you’re saying. McDermott and Beane have consistently said that they want a dynamic offense but their actions haven’t always backed that up. In this case I think it’s more that they are methodical by nature than conservative.
  14. I don’t think McDermott believes that at all. I think he wants a dynamic, passing offense a la Andy Reid. He’s just not Andy Reid so he’s not sure how to accomplish that. They’re working on it.
  15. I’m not sure who this disrespects more, Phil Hansen or Aaron Schobel.
  16. These are sharp. I like everything except the number on the helmet. I really like the dark blue ones, which appears to put me in the minority.
  17. Is this how things work with the president and his opponents? Going through Twitter and not the media seems to work pretty well for him.
  18. Maybe he's a diamond in the ruff, but it's not a good sign that a team like Miami, that needs OL help, didn't think he was worth re-signing. But you never know I guess.
  19. This is a little appreciated point. People think that you call screens when your OL is getting beat to slow down the rush, but if your OL is getting beat then the DL have no need to sell out on their pass rush and are rarely fooled. Screens work when your passing game is working and the DL is scrambling to get pressure on the QB, losing some of their discipline in the process.
  20. I was there. It was awesome. My favorite part was seeing highlights of Al Davis after the game asking his coaching staff wtf happened in the second half. ?
  21. Maybe Dawson Knox makes that block on the rerun.
  22. Bills-Pats 2011. This isn't the whole game, just the highlights, but you'll get the idea.
  23. I know how you feel. I just rewatched the Bills-Browns WC game from 1989 and I almost started raising my arms in triumph before Harmon dropped the ball in the end zone on the second to last play.
