  1. I haven't broken down film or anything, but to the naked eye it certainly looks like he has struggled in 1v1 pass protection. However, I think it's crazy to say that he has "sealed his fate" to play guard. The guy is a rookie. I think he deserves a chance to work on his game a little- at least one offseason, at minimum.
  2. No. He’s an average, rotational DE. Not worth the 5th year option, IMO. They need to try and find another legitimate pass rusher at the position in the off season. Shaq is good vs the run and provides depth so they should hang onto him or Murphy but not both. If Shaq walks for a big offer then that settles the question of who gets replaced.
  3. It just shows you the differing expectations for the Cowboys versus the Bills.
  4. I saw that the Bills are playing 80% of their snaps in 1 TE, 1 RB and 3 WR. Knox is the TE and when they go big with 2 TEs they bring in Lee Smith for blocking so Kroft is basically a backup at this point.
  5. They’ve beaten a few decent teams, including Baltimore. They have talent.
  6. What’s weird is that in his post game press conference, Garrett said that the Bills did in fact blitz on that play.
  7. Personally, I don’t think playing a scheme that they aren’t familiar with is a great idea. I would probably use the same run blitzing game plan that they have been using since the second Miami game. Baltimore has a very diverse running game so I think the best bet is to be aggressive and try to dictate the play. If you can create a negative play, then they have to pass. Also, if the offense can jump on them and get in front then you can potentially force them to throw it more than they would like.
  8. I think most teams have done this on defense since the 90s. The offense scripts plays to test matchups. The defense scripts to hide their real game plan.
  9. So it’s basically almost impossible. Besides the Bills winning out (and beating the two best teams in the AFC in the process), NE needs to lose to one of the two worst teams in the conference as well. But I’ll tell you what, if the Bills actually win out then they have a change to win a championship even as a wild card.
  10. Simms has been on the Josh Allen bandwagon from day 1.
  11. No offense to Marv, but that was Jaron's major problem right there.
  12. I stinks for him that he got hurt but he wasn't exactly a key contributor. I'm sure they can find a comparable replacement if he can't play.
  13. Did he even have a GM? Or was that during the GM by committee period?
  14. If they don't activate him now then they might as well cut him and bring in someone else.
  15. The only QB he drafted in the 1st round was Lynch, and he was at the end of the round. I know you can point to Tom Brady or, more recently, Lamar Jackson, but the odds of getting a top QB after the first 15 picks seem pretty low given how highly valued the position is. For a QB to fall into the second round he must really have some question marks.
  16. Until you have a good, or least highly promising, QB on your team, you need to draft the first QB you like that is available every draft, IMO. So that means that either Elway didn't think Allen and/or Jackson were good, which is looking false at this point, or he doesn't understand the value of the QB position in the modern game, which seems ridiculous considering he played it. Either way, it's totally on him, IMO.
  17. He played well. It was a solid game plan with plenty of help for the OTs, the biggest of which was running the ball often and effectively. If the Bills had passed the ball 47 times instead of run it that many I don't think this thread would exist.
  18. 4-1, with the loss coming to the Jets in the meaningless finale.
  19. With all the running they did Feliciano and Long are arguably a better combination anyway.
  20. If he did it to you or your family, I'll bet you would care. The Bills winning doesn't justify treating people like sh*t. If it does for you then you need to seriously reexamine your morals. Plus this is besides the actually point of the anecdote, which is that he portrays himself as a god fearing, family oriented, team building individual but then berates people like a school yard bully behind the scenes while the organization suppresses the reporting to protect his image. If this is all OK then why not report it on BB.com or OBD? Obviously it shows what a good leader he is.
  21. Yeah sure. Completely justifiable way to respond to a story you don't like. "Controlling the small details" by f-bombing and physically intimidating someone trying to his job into doing what you want instead. ?
  22. The context was in the overall discussion of how the media has been pressured by the Pegulas to suppress any negative reporting on the team. Fairburn first reported than McDermott was unhappy that word had leaked that the Bills posted quotes from Pat Shurmer about Josh Allen around the facility the week before they played the Giants, and then when reporting on an open practice, he noted that the team was practicing fake punts. This apparently pushed McDermott over the edge and he unleashed on the Fairburn like he stole something. He asked him if he was "on the team or not", as you mention above, while berating him. Sullivan noted that the media is so cowed that after this happened, not only did they not call McDermott out or ask for an apology , they didn't even report it.
  23. There kind of is actually, if it's true.
  24. Just think of how good Kaepernick and Taylor looked with Roman at OC compared to how they looked elsewhere. Plus, in Buffalo they had the best running game in the league outside of the QB as well. As has been mentioned, being a good coordinator is totally different from being a good HC (see Phillips, Wade) but he knows the running game like nobody else. If it was a good job then it wouldn't be available. Someone needs to go in there and turn it into something good.
