A Few Thoughts about the Pats Game - Post yours as well
Success replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Feel terrible for Gibson, but not recovering that fumble was a biggie. The Patriots player was just in the exact right spot. -
McDermott just said he is officially week to week. Poor guy considering how they downplay injuries publicly here he may be on life support somewhere.
-
McDermott is calm, steady, reliable. McDermott's scheme is keep the game in front of you, make the other team go all the way down the field bit by bit. Nothing comes cheap. He's betting that the opposing offense will eventually make a mistake, and he's usually right. Even last night, NE made plenty. But so did we, which is uncharacteristic. Without the Coleman fumble and Allen INT, we win. The problem comes playoff time. Not only is the talent and coaching much better, but everyone is hyper focused. Thus, this approach on D is less successful.

Lack of receiver ability to separate and go deep was bound to catch up with them. Coleman might be a bust. I was yelling at my TV at draft time to pick McConkey. We hand KC an offensive weapon and we take a slow, jump ball guy. Beane BLEW it!!!! -
I don’t think the Bills can play him any longer .. even if/when he’s healthy. We can’t keep operating like this at Linebacker. And it’s not fair to the rest of the team/coaches to gameplan involving a guy who 50/50 makes it through the game healthy.
-
Since you already did the research do you have a list of those 6 Bills games and their opponents? It would be interesting to see how he has officiated in games not involving the Bills. Also would be interesting see how underdogs generally favor in games he officiates.

I’m not quite in the fire mcd camp but teetering haha There’s no good HC candidates this offseason unfortunately. I think they gotta give him one more year and make 2026 Super Bowl or bust and hope someone else emerges tbh. All the guys that have gotten hype have completely fallen off so far. Maybe they could fire him midseason in 2026 if things don’t look great and have Brady take over for a time honestly maybe I’d give spags another shot if he wants to leave kc but it seems like people only want offense now and idk if he’d even leave

Shouldn't be playing it when the game is still undecided. TBH it's a lousy song regardless and we could do better. Seems chintzy

Special Teams were outstanding against one of the best ST units in the league. Franklin clotheslined their stud punt returner, and cam Lewis violently took out Gibson and caused a fumble. New punter looked solid too. Prater made his kicks. -
For all you McDermott haters, who would you want? (Now a poll)

i was replying to this '...there aren’t many runs where a team doesn’t have to score 27-30 points one or more times anymore...' when there was just one two yrs ago they are not going to get rid of McDermott so actually it's the opposite. they need to stop investing so much capital on defense and go all in w Allen and offense like ive been saying for the last 5yrs -

This is now a poll. I went with names I had seen here. I added Babich as he's part of the current regime. If there's another name I should add, let me know and I'll edit the poll. -
Defense is the most important thing in every sport. It’s the only way to sustainably win big games. If you can’t make stops, you are asking your offense to be perfect every drive every week. That’s why we still have no rings. The defense is the problem. The defense getting fixed is how we win a Super Bowl. Unfortunately step 1 of fixing it is removing our own HC from the room

They are different teams. There is no comparison. This D is weak against the run, weak against the pass and terrible on 3rd down. With that many problems you don’t go far. -
The drive in the 1st quarter, when they pitched it to Cooke, who had a nice gain, we were close to the red zone. Whoops, a hold on McGovern. They showed the replay and that idiot Collingsworth says, you put a hand on him, they call it every time. What??? Every play a hand is placed on a defensive player!! The replay clearly showed it was NOT a hold. They didn't have the courage to call it out. It seems this crew is there to defend all the calls. Awful!!

woah woah woah... pump the brakes... the career posters here will try and railroad you for not viewing this board with your rose colored glasses. You happen to be 100000% factually accurate here. -

That’s fine. I’m not saying making the playoffs IS a given just that making the playoffs is not what people are most concerned about right now.

I’d like Josh to get over his Diggs hang up. He was pressing last night and making stupid decisions. He was directly responsible for 17-21 points not going on the board for us. 1) A very easy read to give Ty Johnson the ball on the read option for a likely TD. He pre determined he was keeping the ball himself. 2) Bailed out of a huge clean pocket for no reason and missed a WIDE OPEN Samuel downfield for an easy TD 3) That interception was a horrific decision and I got the feeling he was fed up and was going to rip one in there. Was Josh the main problem? Nope. Turnovers and offensive penalties were the main issue. Even with Josh’s bad decisions we’d have won easily without the TOs and constant penalties. I see too many defects with this defense to think we are going to be Super Bowl bound. I stated in an earlier thread I’d wait until the reinforcements showed up, and I’m still trying to cling to that, but it’s tough. 1) At least Groot made an appearance for once 2) Rapp is horrible, slow, and a liability 3) Milano is good but made of glass 4) Thompson needs to start 5) Tre is washed 6) Johnson looks washed 7) DTs suck until Ed comes back, Jones was ok. Those are too many issues to fix in one season. I hope I’m wrong, maybe this was just that stinker game we play every year and they are going to get much better as the season progresses. They did have a solid pass rush in the first half but the second half that evaporated and Maye just shredded the D constantly rolling to his right.

Guy next to us last night said “you ever feel like we are playing with 10 men on defense…?” Cant disagree with that lol

Fair, But my point in responding to this was to say this whole thread is crazy. The Bills didn't come close to losing yesterday because of Coleman. They lost because a number of things and from everything I've read, if anything more were central to Allen at least on the offensive side.
