Game week thread - Pats at Bills SNF
Low Positive replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
So, this is the 20th "complain about the Bills' defense" thread? Where are we supposed to talk about the Pats game? -
Can he plug the run or get home in the pass rush?
-
Pretty sure it's Ryan Stoneball and Matthew Hayhouse... The Polka King????

Does this mean Tre will definitely be on the field 🫣 -
Where is Landon Jackson ???

He’s obviously not showing the quality needed to break into the Sunday lineup and thats with a group that desperately needs a pass rusher from the edge. I guess Hancock is not fully healthy because we need another cb with our propensity to make the Spencer Rattlers of the world look like Joe Burrow. -
This is a very big game. The Bills, by winning, could have a death grip on the AFC East and also nice drivers' seat for the AFC #1 seed through 5 games. Lose, suddenly the Patriots are 1 game back, with the tiebreaker, and a cakewalk for most of the season. It gives them life and confidence. Very, very important to take care of business at home on SNF

My guess is this is a Terry Pegula idea from Penn State. Sort of a last minute thing based on last week. Let's hope the result is different. -

The problem has been teams haven't had to challenge our passing defense because the run works well against us. And because we haven't exactly faced a murders row of passing efficient QBs in Justin Fields, a broke down Tua and Rattler. -
so glad to know the Mets season is over

For sure on preferring to give up yardage on the ground. I'm just saying these numbers always being thrown around don't typically tell the entire story, especially when just talking about yards. I recall a lot of discussion during some of the drought year teams where people would point to how good the run D is even though the D was giving up 300+ passing yards each game. Pretty sure no one was bothering to run when they could just throw it down the field on the Bills D all day. 🙂

Evaulation (of this team) after a quarter of season gone
HamptonBillsfan replied to ganesh's topic in The Stadium Wall
The first four games have been a testament to the greatness of Josh, Cook the O-line and a few defenders (Bernard, Benford, Bosa, and Oliver). The offense has been good enough to compete for the SB. Averaging over 30 and scoring on cue when teams have narrowed margins are indicative of great production. The weaknesses on defense are glaring and must be resolved if we want to overcome our loser resume. The run defense is not effective and without Oliver and Milano it’s not going to improve. The front four also has generated little pressure on the QB but Sean and Babich have brought extra rushers ala Spags approach that have worked at times. We need continued improvement from Walker, Sanders and the arrival of Ogenjobi. Our secondary gives up too many completions and YAC. Relying on our 1st round rookie cb and the other rookies with a game but injury diminished Tre White is not realistic. Bishop showed flashes last game but he’s out of position too much. So it seems obvious we need an acquisition before the deadline either an established corner or safety and the addition of the PED lineman to shore up the defense. The outlook is optimistic to get the overall home field throughout the playoffs but to beat KC and the NFC champion improvement of our defense will determine whether we end the drought. -
Do you still hate the Patriots? I do!

There’s a ton of room between “instant star” and still having the tags on your jersey. That said, if there’s any organization that deserves the benefit of the doubt regarding players who are slow out of the gate, it’s the Bills. It’s one of the reasons I think McDermott deserves a lot more credit than some give him. He can flat out develop players.

I agree. I picked this game before it was announced what this was.... I don't think I own any white Bills gear which is saying something. It's never really been a team color.
