Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
Alphadawg7 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
No disrespect, but you seem to be ignoring that 2 years in a row, the Bills used the first pick in the draft, including a trade up where they used a 1st and 4th to get Kincaid, to get a pass catching weapon for Josh Allen. Not sure how they can be accused of not prioritizing it, when even when they had Diggs and Davis still, they invested a 1st and 4th to get Kincaid after they unsuccessfully tried to trade up to get what was believed to be Addison. Then the first year without Diggs, they also had a $31M dead cap hit on a team already tight on cap. They didn't have cap room to acquire a top end WR, and they didn't have a high enough pick to get any of the premiere outside WR prospects. They took Keon, who has been the best WR in the calls on the outside so far from that draft. So they took the best available outside WR actually even though that pick Keon has not yet worked out as we have hoped. But he is also being used poorly by Brady in this offense, which isn't helping matters. They clearly did - the invested their first pick in the draft in back to back years on a pass catcher for Allen. And they also invested a 4th (as part of the trade to get Kincaid) and a 5th also in the same draft in a late round WR pick as well. Is it fair? You are accusing a GM of not prioritizing weapons for Allen when in 2023 all but 2 of our picks were used on offense, including our 1st and 4th on Kincaid when we still had a top 5 WR and in 2024 they again used their top pick on a WR that has actually been the best outside WR available from the point we selected him in the entire draft. I appreciate the friendly debate and dialogue, and enjoyed the convo. But I respectfully disagree they did not put themselves in position to get one when they used their most prized draft assets 2 years in a row on weapons for Allen, plus used multiple picks on OL help, including a 2nd in 2023 on O'Cyrus, all to help Josh Allen. You can't draft what isn't there, they drafted based on what was available. And as much as people are dissatisfied with Keon, there is not another outside WR that has done more than Keon or proven to be better thus far. So the mistake was not drafting a different WR, it was not drafting Cooper DeJean, which of course would have even pissed the fan base off even more even though he would be the better pick in a redo. The only argument is that they did not draft one in 2025, but after a 2023 draft based almost entirely on offense (all picks but 2 were used on offense) and 2024 first addressing WR over say someone like Cooper DeJean, it was time to address the defense that was by far the weakest part of the team in 2024 after the offense put up the best season in franchise history leading to Allen winning MVP. The last time our team was on the field, our defense gave up 32 to a team that had not scored 30 the entire season and was down 31-0 in their next game - while our offense averaged 29 PPG against 3 of the best defenses in the AFC in our 3 playoff games. -

Know you’re just busting chops but Starks and Oakley, heart and soul of those teams (loved Mase too). As for a Knick to “dislike”, give that crown to Charles Smith!! 😫 -

If there is one thing I’m sure of, it is that Trumpers are completely flexible on their principles. Trump has proven that over and over again. -

Our Team Identity is Josh Allen / Hero Ball. We'd be in big trouble right now if we let Cook get away in the off season. IDK, I still think DK would would have been a good fit for Josh, or AJ when he went to Philly. Our WR track record drafting or developing WR's over the years has been terrible. I want to like Keon, but the fact that we settled on him in that WR rich draft is brutal. If we're gonna play hero ball can we at least get him someone to play with? Also, we have one of the worst secondary's in the league from a guy that is supposed to know defense or DB's. We've wasted soo much $ on the D and DL for soo little production over these last years it just doesn't make sense. Ultimately, our poor drafting and use of Cap has been a big impediment to our success.

During the falcons game, the callers were saying how much space that our DBs were giving the receivers. They said "it's too much". And I said " SHUT UP FOOLS. McD is the DB whisperer. He's a Guru." Disrespect my Bills will ya? -

He has the dreaded McDermott "week to week". When his "day to day" often results in inactives (sometimes two weeks) and his "week to week" often results in being out as long as an IR (as seen recently with Ed Oliver) - i'd consider Palmer's at least a few more weeks. Especially with how bad it looked and it being an ankle on a guy who runs routes. I believe, had we not had a bye, they'd have probably IR'ed him. There's still an off chance they still could tomorrow. I think they hope with the Bye, he'll miss 2-3 weeks and IR wasn't necessary. But again, we've seen instances like Oliver in recent memory where "Week to Week" has meant 4 weeks down. It really boils down to what you consider long term. When it comes to McDermott, there's only 3 designations - "Day to Day", "Week to Week", and "IR". IR (especially) at this point is anywhere from done to *maybe* we'll get them back for the Playoffs. His week to week is long term to me.

Someone in another thread said the division goes through NE now. Ohhhh boy. Yeah maybe they're playing better right now and maybe they're in year but to go so far as to say it's their division is silly at this point. I hate that I'm writing in this thread cuz I'm sick of seeing all the Maye glazing going on. If I want to read how good he is I'll go to a Pats board or just watch earn or something.

For me education boils down to a focus on teaching students what to think vs. teaching students how to think. Rather than memorize lots of facts and figures and face indoctrination in some ideology its more important in life to understand how to diagnose and solve a problem or issue via logic and critical thinking skills. But like George Carlin said the last thing any government wants is to be confronted by a population of citizens capable of critical thinking.

If were being honest, only 4 teams in the AFC have a shot…Bills, Chiefs, Colts, Patriots. The rest just isn’t good enough this year.

Plausible X/#1 receiver trade candidates — are there any?
Nihilarian replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
This exactly! Some Bills fans just don't comprehend that no matter what receiver is traded for, drafted, or brought in...that this OC is not Brian Daboll (which is a good thing for the run game). However, until he shows that he can get more out of receivers on the roster that bringing in anyone else is a waste of time. Granted, Brady must be doing something right, as last year being the #2 scoring offense, and to have games like Josh Allen had against the Lions and Rams. In that game against the Lions, Ty Johnson was the leading receiver with 114 yards. In that Rams game, Shakir was the leading receiver with 106 yards, and Cooper was second with 92 yards. In my view, the current receivers on this team are good enough to beat any other team if schemed properly. Simply use Ty and Cook much more often and open up the entire passing game. -
Ravens are not making it, the hole is too deep at this point and they’ll still have more injuries occur as there’s little over half a season to go still. I think the Chiefs will make it only because the Chargers, Jaguars and Broncos are pretenders. They’ll pass at least one of those teams in the standings.
