The way Josh was quoted in the Buffalo News today, glowingly talking about Gabe and their time together.,, it's clear Josh loves the guy.

Does there need to be a rethinking of the basic D?
YattaOkasan replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
So youre still on board for Edgemunds? lol. His ineffectiveness at the blitz is why i thought moving him to edge was silly. -
You can write a dissertation as long as you want. And you can twist things as much as you want. You know exactly what I mean about our WR's. They are medicore, at best. I've said that about 400 times. FACT: This great offense failed again, when it had the ball last in the playoffs, and once the 1st round pick (and another mediocre pass catcher) failed to make a slightly above average play after Allen performed heroics just to get the ball near him. Why didn't he make the play you ask? Because he isn't/wasn't quite as athletic or coordinated enough to make a catch like that. 1st round pick. Failed when it counts. That lofty #1 ranked offense mattered 0%, because when it comes down to it, he wasn't good enough to make a play in a real pressure situation. AKA, mediocre wins you a 1 pm game against the Saints that we sleepwalk through, especially when Allen your QB. That mediocre talent fails to deliver in crunch time in big playoff games where the other team has star players. See also.....our defense. You defended, not me, Josh Palmer as a #2. He wasn't, but he did have a chance to step in when some Chargers got hurt. You tell me.....what do these stats tell you? 2024 39-584-1 2023 38-581-2 2022 72-769-3 2021 33-353-4 Those numbers SCREAM #4 on a lot of teams. A lot of teams concentrate on the offensive side of the ball. So, what about that year where he caught 72 balls? Well, he sucked the next two years again. A logical conclusion can be that he just kind of sucks. Another logical conclusion could be that he isn't good enough to capitalize on the 72 catch season because he isn't good enough. And the last logical conclusion could be that the Chargers know he sucks because they couldn't keep him elevated, for whatever reason, and keep him as an ascending player. He was painfully below average for 2 consecustive years after his solid year. One solid year, not great, but one solid year. How about Mack Hollins, the biggest and most overrated player since Da'Rick Rogers here (whatever his name was). Supposedly a big loss right? Or should I have used Martin Nance from yesteryear as well? He has stunk his entire career. SCREAMS 4th wr. Actually, as a WR, he screams that he should be waived from the NFL. He was even watched out the door in Orchard Park when the Bills love mediocre WR's and special teams guys. He was signed to a very modest contract in NE that we certainly could have matched here to keep him if we wanted. But hey, he's funny and a good guy because he cooks and walks around barefoot I guess. He actually stars in that stuff. The wrong stuff. 2024 31-378-5 2023 18-251-0 2022 57-690-4 2021 13-223-4 2020 16-176-1 2019 10-125-0 Should I go on? Because it doesn't get much better. And Hollins put up 31-378-5 with the best QB in the league. And then, to boot, the Bills let him go, for the collection of new stiffs that exist now. Shakir could be a beast if he didn't have to be the #1 guy on this team. The rest of these guys.....meh. Hell, that's why Gabe Davis is back in town. Allen is the Porsche at the dealership with a bunch of 2017 Nissan Altima's 200 feet away at the used car section of the lot. Everyone knows it. And it's the same philospjy this year as always. Tell Josh not to be the hero.....when your roster sets him up to have to be the hero. Stats don't tell the entire story. However, they do indicate a lot. And for whatver reason our WR's don't have any stats to be proud of, they don't have any for a reason. Most of the time, it's just the fact that you kinda suck. Our WR's outside of Shakir kinda suck. All of them except Shakir, and Coleman who only gets a pass because he's only in his second year. But he certainly didn't do anything yet to put away the myth that we have no clue how to develop and draft NFL caliber WR's. Everybody is supposed to eat. That's what we use as a cute parting shot for Diggs. However, most of our guys are anorexic. We need some steak eaters on this team. We have only one.....Allen.

New stadium to have real grass - per BB last night
BillsShredder83 replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
People are just ribbing on you. No negativity!! Your right, I think the bulk of average fans could not care less about the stadium surface, thinking it doesnt matter. ANY HARDCORE FAN OF: NJ JETS/ NJ GIANTS/ DETROIT and others, can tell you, these BS badddd turf surfaces are a nightmare. These 3 fields had an ABSURDLY higher amount of ACL/MCL injuries than any other stadium due to a poor surface. It was far from an insignificant amount too. There was an article, and I want to say those fields specifically had a 75% higher rate than the average of the other ~30 surfaces. Not only do those knee injuries take away players for a year, killing entire teams seasons..... but they so often END CAREERS COMPLETELY. Ask OBJ, A Rodgers, Tre White, Von Miller and a boatload of others. F'n Detroits field cost us a SuperBowl in 2022 IMO, between 2 games in that stadium in one year: Thanksgiving (Von) and a Snowed Out one (Tre Whites first and most damaging injury). We were a SB team without those injuries, and I'll MF'ing DIE ON THAT HILL. Id love to see a calculation of how much those 3 fields costs players/owners in lost productivity/career earnings!!! Morons pinching pennies and costing hundreds of millions, not only to their team, but other owners/players as well. NFLPA should strong arm all these fields to grass -
Thanks. I'll admit I haven't been to a camp, and am going only off of what I've read from beat reporters and seen in the preseason games. I do agree that he seems to be the primary slot backup to Shakir. Still, for as much excitement as some Bills fans had around his signing (and I was one of them), it has felt like he's had a very quiet camp and preseason. Usage wise, he may be getting consistent work. Production wise, I can't remember the last time I heard about him connecting for a big or even notable play with Josh.

Isreal has as much right to exist as Palestine. Cry harder!!!! Typical liberal nut job...... Oh your a woman? It all makes sense. You need professional help. This is not funny.

They could just be checking him out physically in case they need to add a WR during the season. Ditto Pittsburgh.

What is the consensus thoughts on Nissan? I've driven a Murano for 7 years, and I love it! The redesigned Murano's appeal to me, and was thinking of stopping into our Nissan dealership to look more closely at them. -

A new skin yarmulke Mr. Bundy had won. Bloody residue signified their debate was done.” You want a piece of me too, old man?? Let’s go, bruh… “Commie Kay grabbed that axe once more And towards JDHillFan she shouted “fore!” An enlarged prostate is now the least of his concerns, As his wizened carcass reflects his debate spurns.” You want to see a winning debate strategy?? MEANWHILE: "The Democratic Party Faces a Voter Registration Crisis/The party is bleeding support beyond the ballot box, a new analysis shows." That's the headline in the lead article at the NYT this morning. Excerpt: There are still more Democrats registered nationwide than Republicans, partly because of big blue states like California allow people to register by party, while red states like Texas do not. But the trajectory is troublesome for Democrats, and there are growing tensions over what to do about it. Democrats went from nearly an 11-percentage-point edge over Republicans on Election Day 2020 in those places with partisan registration, to just over a 6-percentage-point edge in 2024.... It must be quite a crisis or I don't think the NYT would openly call it a crisis. They even used my favorite word, "flummox": "... Democrats are divided and flummoxed over what to do." Does there need to be a rethinking of the basic D?
BarleyNY replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
A few observations: - Tre Edmunds was one of the worst blitzers I’ve ever seen. That’s not hyperbole. If there was a free OLman, he’d find him. I always assumed it was him and not coaching. Let’s hope that was the case. - While under McDermott the Bills haven’t been effective running inside blitzes, they’ve done well with outside blitzes, especially by DBs. - You can have very effective safety play from smart/savvy players with average athleticism as long as you’re in Cover 2 or higher types of coverage. - Cover 1 and 0 require much better athleticism on the part of safeties. They’re also blitzes. - Reading that all leads me to believe this why there is a push for better/more athletic safety play because McDermott wants to blitz more this season. -

McDermott - "Still looking for that other safety"
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Every team has positions where they would realistically like to upgrade. Hamlin is a bit below average, but not so bad where he’s a total liability. He knows the defense and even made some impact plays in the post-season. I don’t understand this hate. He’s carved a nice little niche in this D after people were starting to think he was a charity case. To each his own -
Which is why I started off with “not sure I see it” silly Chiefs fan. But if anyone saves the Bills some money and may be seen by some teams as a cheap replacement for an injured WR in a trade - as the Buscaglia article was referencing - it would be Moore vs any other WR on the Bills imo.

Nico is the only proven. And he was hurt some last year. Other than that, they probably in the same situation at WR as the Bills and Stroud is not Allen. -
The Boston Celtics won 11 championships in 13 years from the late 1950s through the 1960s. And during that time, their average home attendance was less than 6,000 per game in an 18,000 seat arena.

Bills hosting Gabe Davis for visit
The BLUES Brothers replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
It may be in this thread but swear Gabe was at Josh's wedding, so they are still close. Since Gabe gets $11 Million guaranteed from JAX, we only have to pay the vet minimum, and that is the only portion reduced from JAX payment, and will not hurt Buffalo's salary cap figure. -
McDermott - "Still looking for that other safety"
Mat68 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Coming off as a coach pushing buttons through the media then a full panic at the position. Bishop needs to step up. Babich more complimentary today. Little good cop/ bad cop. Now dont get me wrong Hancock is coming on fast. Bishop will need to play well to hold him off. Bishop and Rapp offer enough athleticism to help with the third down defense problem. That first TD vs the Bears should have been a 10-15 yard completion. Not ideal but lack of depth from Joe and no sqeeze from Hamlin compounded an already negative matchup of safety on wr. -

Even this Never Trumper has to admit that sometimes he has a point. The Smithsonian museums have descended into Museums of Woke Culture. Enough about the horrors of slavery! We should at least have an exhibit about how modern-day Mississippi is quite a lot nicer than modern-day Guinea. Likewise, I went to the Holocaust Museum. It opens with a display of the shoes of concentration camp victims, the sheer immensity of the display making its point in the way that a mere number on a wall can't. But where are the shoes of the Germans who suffered economic deprivation at the hands of the allies? Where are the displays showing the technological advancements of the National Socialist era? The VW, finally making cars affordable for the masses? The rocket technology? The eye-color changing genetics research of Dr. Mengele? I found the whole museum a bit depressing, and a whole lot one-sided. There really wasn't enough about the American heroism and, of course, the heroism of our friends the Russians. I would like to see the entire focus changed from one of victimology to one of triumphalism. Hell, just call it the Trump Museum of Winning. At least we could make some money in the gift shop that way. -
Trump Administration vs. Activist Judges: Scoreboard
B-Man replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Team Trump Keeps Winning Case after Case in Federal Court by Daniel R. Street I wrote previously about the out of control federal judiciary and the measures Congress and higher federal courts could take to rein in the activist judges. One of those remedies was for the United States Supreme Court to disallow the use of Nationwide Injunctions. SCOTUS ruled against the use of Nationwide Injunctions under the Judiciary Act of 1789, as I wrote about here (though, the High Court left the door open to the abuse of the Nationwide Injunction under other authorities, such as “class action” relief). In the meantime, the Trump Administration just keeps winning one case after another. https://danielrstreet.substack.com/p/team-trump-keeps-winning-case-after?r=pax9d&utm_medium=ios&triedRedirect=true . -
