The defense in that broke the draught wasn't anything special. In several statistical categories, Rex's defenses performed better. The law of averages worked in our favor in 2017, allowing us to clinch the wild card. Andy Dalton and Tyler Boyd contributed just as much to that success as anyone on the Bills.

What’s crazy is Buffalo never had a problem putting together top NFL defenses or even stellar running games for the past 30 years. The problem was always finding a QB and elevating the passing game. Halftime, commercials, no NFL crawler at the base of the screen...no NFL studio cut in to show highlights of other games like you normally see. Other games are at least playing some starters.
