Here was last year's link for military, veterans, first responders, teachers, and nurses. Looks like it was offered a couple weeks into the season.

Don't forget that Dawson Knox is plenty athletic. Just not as fluid/quick as Dalton

Be realistic about what is more likely to happen in terms of where he signs is not at all "rooting against it". To interpret it that way is bizarre to me. I mean I have said in every single post I am good with him coming back. Any of who? If you are talking about our WR room...I suggest you go watch Shakir highlights, I coincidentally did last night while putting my kids to sleep as it popped up in my youtube feed. Its sensational. And no one thinks poorly about Davis highlights...every player in NFL has a highlight real who plays any relevant minutes...but people have been concerned about his low lights.

My biggest gripe with the nfl and sunday ticket..(besides the price but I understand that going in because the nfl are greedy ghouls) is the fact that they do not add the simple option of listening to the radio broadcast instead of the tv broadcast. How can MLB make this available for every game of the season but the nfl can not do this for 17 simple weeks. They just hate their fans. I would love to have the option to listen to Chris Brown, Eric Wood and Sal instead of alot of the tv broadcasts. I have just begun rewatching last season this week and the week 1 broadcast was terrible. Jay Feeley is horrendous in the booth. Tom McCarthy and Ross Tucker made it even worse. Thankfully Jay Feeley is moving on to making the world a worse place in another venue. I would rather listen to my neighbors dog bark than spero dedes and adam archuletta also.

Is there an NFL team with a weaker WR group than the Bills?
Simon replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
fwiw = for what it's worth Ragging on people for adding content to the forum does nobody any favors. -
I am not arguing that he had a fantastic year. And again, I like watching the guy play. What I dont want to do is have the Bills pay him that much money given the fact they have a great offensive line.
-
Gabe was well liked by team as evident him being in town for Micah Hydes charity game. That said with us limited on cap money and targets I can see him going elsewhere. Cleveland needs serious help at WR and am sure plenty of cap room. The Giants make sense for a Daboll reunion if looking for a quick one year deal.

Great post, and I dont mean to dismiss it by chopping so much out. Rather, this is the one point I want to add to... Given Beane's track record on early extensions, it can be assumed we'll get some discount and not full market value. For the rest of it, we'll all hope that streaming money keeps flowing in.

TJ Watt Speculation after Pickens trade (Nothing Official)
Kirby Jackson replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
So then the question becomes, what’s the appropriate compensation for a 1 year rental, on an injury prone pass rusher, in their 30’s? It’s tricky. I was all about going after Watt until I talked to my buddy at the Steelers. Now I’m lukewarm. He knows WAY more than me as to what Watt has looked like recently. @BADOLBILZ comments echoed it. I guess I am at, sure, if it’s cheap to acquire him, go for it. -
They paid Rousseau who plays a premium position in the NFL top 15 money. James Cook is looking to be paid somewhere in the top 1-3 at his position. Do you think Cook is one of the 3 best backs in football?
-
Right - but that's kind of the point. Would the team be better off spending more on OL or WR than running back? With Saquan - they had 1874 rushing yards and a 4.1 YPC average Without Saquan - they had 1783 rushing yards and a 4.2 YPC average

Trump ❤️ Tariffs
Joe Ferguson forever replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I've voted consistently for higher taxes on my income bracket and more social safety net spending. So have many liberals (again, look at the demographics). Any D in the top 30% or so, is voting against their own financial interest. So no, everyone doesn't do this... Silver lining, trump's social security income tax proposal and renewal of tax breaks pays for several nice vacations a year if they go through (I'll believe it when I see it). Would I EVER vote for him because of that? NO WAY. -
He had two dropped tds 2 years ago. Frustrating. But he’s caught some filthy ones. Dallas home game he’s really good. Beanes chosen to offer medium to top 10 money to meh players. Rousseau. Cook is 3x the player he is. Pay him

You can say the same thing about Shakir. He couldn’t crack the lineup because of this issue. Davis is who he is at this point. Come Feb I would have more faith in him than the majority of the current wr corp.

They don’t have to hit FA to get market value though. the Bills have massive money put out to their bookend OTs. But they are right around league average at OL spend in 2025 because the interior OL is so cheap. Thats going to change, dramatically. David Edwards is making $3M AAV. McGovern is making $7.5M AAV. Let’s say McGoven asks for $12M AAV (which is top 7 C money) and Edwards asks for $10M which is top 20 OG money, there’s an extra $11.5M to account for. That’s basically the raise Cook is asking for. Sure, I know we can just say “add void years” but we do that all the time already. In 2026, we have void dead money on: Bosa Larry O Milano McGovern Jones AJE for a grand total of $29M in voided dead money. So there goes the cap jump and then some. I think we can make it work to get them all back but then this is the team without significant adds for the rest of Josh’s prime.

I've seen you allude to this twice now and IMO it may set a bad precedent for Beane. The excellent deals Beane has been able to negotiate with the draft picks are dependent upon them offering a big pile of guaranteed money for contracting future years at their current market rates. You don't give a raise for a year and see how it turns out. Using Benford as an example, you give him two options - play out his current contract and then get big money as a FA if he doesn't get injured, or get a haul of guaranteed money now at your market rate. No middle roading it. Take it or leave it. Most players want guaranteed money now. So for Cook a similar negotiation was probably offered (and vehemently rejected from what we can tell). Following the protocol from above the FO would have offered Cook big guaranteed money to contract for future years at his current market value. I would guess his current market value would be around D Henry $8-9/yr for the future years. You can then see how Cook's team, that has the emotional IQ of a teenage school girl, would go to social media demanding $15M. You do not placate that by giving a one year exception.

I’ll always remember his dive into the endzone vs KC in the championship….it was legendary!

Shows you the value of an offensive line when even an elite RB on a poor line can only give you 3.9ypc. Meanwhile, he goes to the Eagles with a great o-line along with a dual threat QB and puts up video game numbers with 2005 yards rushing and 5.8ypc.. You saw the same thing happen with Derrick Henry with a great o-line with the Ravens and a dual threat QB. He averaged 4.2 ypc with a mediocre o-line and then 5.9 ypc for 1,921 yards with a good offensive line in Baltimore and probably the most dual threat QB's in the league We have those elements in place but just don't have an elite back that can take advantage of it.

It is a good thing. Absolutely. But am I ready to pay him $15M a season for one year of that? No. Let's see if that was an exception or a baseline before shelling out top dollars is all I'm saying. Not discounting TDs at all. But how many of those were because Cook is elite and how many of those could have been punched in by Johnson/Davis and can be in the future at a much cheaper price is the question. I think having him prove it this season is the smart move. The absolute worst thing that Beane could do here is cave, pay him top end money and see his TDs sharply decline while his fumble and dropping passes problems come back up. Remember, it wasn't that long ago he was riding pine due to these issues. I'd like to think he turned the corner. If he shows it this year, cool. Pay the dude. He had an EXCEPTIONAL season last year. And if he put in the work and solved his past issues along with becoming a TD machine he will have another one this year. And he will get paid.

count the times he ran the wrong routes during his tenure. he blamed it on miscommunication while a bill

Barkley had injuries and absolute zero threat of the pass in his years with the Giants, the only reason he looked “bad” was the dog crap around him and injury. If you want to follow the logic you are using, then Cook is a product of the system and would be garbage elsewhere. Cool, so if he played 3x as much, he’s worth 6M a year. So Cook is a 2 down guy, guess he’s worth 4M by your standards.

The 90s Knicks teams I was. Can’t really say modern day I’m a fan

Defense lost those games.

I'm almost positive they can but not 100%. The question then comes in whether the performance based incentives are likely to be earned (counts against the cap) or not likely to be earned (won't impact camp unless player reaches it). I'm still a little fuzzy on who makes that determination.
