Steve McNair found shot to death

Recommended Posts

cnn.com is reporting that the woman found shot to death with him was his girlfriend, not his wife. Were he and his wife separated? still very sad any way you look at it, and the NFL lost a great player and the world lost a great person.

Well, looks like the police have their prime suspect....

I really hope thats not the case they have 4 boys, tragic, and shocking!... McNair was a true professional, and had a warrior type appeal about him, his smile was electric, and constant..... R.I.P.

Gregg Williams weighs in:

http://views.washingtonpost.com/theleague/...airs-death.html

Excerpt:

"One of the things I learned from him was what a silent leader is. Sometime people try to force leadership on themselves or other people by talking too much and people tune you out. He wasn't a vocal, in-your-face leader. He was an example by how hard he played the game. You had to respect him by how he played the game, so when he did speak you listened to him. It was a great testament to the kind of tough guy he was.

"I will tell you this: People that want to be flamboyant, people that want to stand out and be individuals, that's not Steve McNair. Steve McNair was a person comfortable in his own skin, comfortable in his own ability and comfortable as his own player. But off the field, that's why you had to respect him. He wasn't a person that had to show people all the bling-bling-bling of what a sports professional was. That's not how he was. He came from the country of Mississippi and that's what he was. A hard-working, hard-nosed country boy that finally got something that he wanted to share with other people. And he had a big, charitable heart, whether it was with his time, money or whatever. He came back. And that's the model of what we all should be, of people think that we're more than we are as sports professionals. We're just regular people, and that was Steve. He was just a regular person, a regular person away from where he played, and I respected him so much for that.

My money's on the g-friend's husband or sig other.

Terrible news.

I found myself thinking the same thing. I didn't know the girlfriend had a husband, but i still was thinking along the lines of an angry boyfriend/husband.

Kinda sad, murders usually only are related to three things: 1)money, 2)drugs, 3)women/men

Wow...well it could have been the girlfriend's ex...still way too early to speculate what could have happened.

What we know thus far is this per The Tennessean and Newschannel 5 in Nashville:

1) No struggle in apt.

2)Woman found was not his wife, Mechelle.

3) The woman's name is Sahel Kazemi, a 20 year old who co-owned a Black Escalade with Mr. McNair.

4) Said Escalade was involved in a DUI last week.

5) McNair died of multiple gun shot wounds. At least one to the head. Woman died of one gunshot.

6) There seems to be speculation the woman was his girlfriend.

7) AFAIK McNair is not divorced.

roofies? (if true) wow, what a "class act!"

I was probably wrong to post that. This seems more likely.

http://www.tennessean.com/article/20090704...+Kazemi+killed+

Sahel Kazemi, 20, was found alongside him in a Second Avenue condo he rented. She had a single gunshot wound to her head; a pistol was found near her body.

Sad, he was one of the few Titans I rooted for. I despised the team even though living in TN most of my life. I did joke about how he was always injured, but he did come to play every game.

You're gonna take the word of a chic that may have a murderer as a boyfriend? Nice.

RIP McNair and friend. :w00t:

Yeah, I just felt bad after I posted the first link. I think it will be ugly unless it was some random killing which will just be tragic then.

It appears to be a murder/suicide. McNair probably wanted to dump her after the DUI.

A terrible tragedy regardless. Too many deaths lately.

It mentions that she was co-owner with McNair so it sounds completely above board for him.

Metro police spokesman Don Aaron said they were leaning toward certain scenarios based on the evidence, but they hadn’t ruled anything out. Still, they were not actively looking for suspects Saturday night.

Police were not looking for suspects? They should look first and decide later if it is a murder-suicide. Just because she took only one shot to head does not make it suicide.

McNair was a TOUGH QB who played thru injuries and was a leader for that team. Shame what injuries did to him but he could only take that kind of damage so long before it affected his ability to play.

There are fairly easy ways to diagnose a suicide. If the gun is still in the hand, how close the shot was to the body, how the body fell, the clues at the crime scene etc... etc....

Whether or not there is gun shot residue on her hand.

On CNN, a reporter said that the bodies were discovered by a guy (sorry, forgot his name) who co-owned the condo with McNair. Apparently, the guy was a sports memorabilia dealer. Anyway, the guy discovered the bodies a little before 1pm, but rather than call the police right away he called somebody else, who then called the police about a half an hour later...is it me, or what? I also found it strange, the reporter also said that when he came in, he didn't see the blood right away, and didn't realize they were dead. Is that even logical? From the desciption of the crime scene, the girl was lying on the floor, with a gunshot to the head. Maybe I watch too many movies, or maybe the carpeting/flooring was dark, but wouldn't there be a significant amount of blood? McNair was shot multiple times. It just seems odd that you wouldn't notice like something like that pretty quick. The co-owner said, he went into the condo, walked around a bit, thought they were just in the living room sleeping (I suppose) and then went in the kitchen and saw the blood...very strange, all the information leaked on this story, so far, and the fact that the guy delayed calling anyone seems odd to me.

If you walked into your house, found two dead bodies (bloody or otherwise) wouldn't your first response be to call the police, or for medical attention? Maybe the co-owner knew that McNair wasn't supposed to be with the girl, and it would look bad for McNair, but dead is dead...I just found that a little odd...

Yes - very odd to me, too.

I wonder it they're thinking it was a murder/suicide. Last week in the town north of mine, a man aged 49 shot his parents then himself, and Friday, a man broke into his recently divorced wife's home and killed her then himself.

RIP, Steve.

@#$%ing around with a 20-year old?! Guess that learned ya, huh, Steve? Yeah. I removed my earlier post with the tears. But, here's some tears for your wife and kids.

So he gets the death penalty for that? Nice lady.

Evidence points to the contrary.

Did you read any of my posts after that one?

So now it wasn't "the sick need to kill"?

You're such an idiot. I never said that's what was going on here. I merely pointed out another one of the reasons people kill. It doesn't surprise me you aren't able to process that information.

Maybe they were having problems already. After the DUI he had decided to take back the Escalade and end the relationship. She, a woman rejected, lost it, killed McNair, and then herself. Seems like the most likely scenario to me. It is a very tragic situation.

What class you have, so now he deserved to die?

Bizarre response, is there a way you can remove ALL of your past posts while your at it and also force you to have some class, dignity and brains in future ones? If so I'm all for it.

I'm thinkin this one hit a little to close to home for her. Cut her some slack.
