TheFunPolice Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Here's a word of caution: those playoff % stats mean almost nothing, because none of what KC needs is that unlikely. I wouldn't bet on them making it, but stranger things have happened many times. I used the ESPN playoff machine and there's a few likely scenarios where they get in. Obviously, now they have to win out and hope LA collapses, which with both tackles out and Herbert with a broken hand isn't crazy. Plus they play them next week. 1 week from today they very well could be 1 game back with these schedules: KC: Titans Broncos Raiders LA: Texans Cowboys Broncos If LA loses tonight and KC beats them next week then LA will have 6 losses and KC 7. Texans and Cowboys have everything to play for still, so it'll be interesting. I can't see the Texans or Jaguars collapsing, and both have tiebreakers anyway. It's either LA or KC making it at this point. Quote
May Day 10 Posted 59 minutes ago Posted 59 minutes ago (edited) Their dynasty is over. Mahomes and Reid could still go on a run in any given season, but them being in the AFCCG every season (or even most seasons) is done. A lot has to do with the Broncos ending their franchise dysfunction and Sean Payton building a good program, along with Jim Harbough in-division. Now the Raiders will probably draft Mendoza 1OA. The ferrari we knew the chiefs as, with Tyreek, prime Kelce and Hunt is long gone. Their defense and Kelce as a safety valve kept them great for awhile, but now Kelce is a shadow of his former self, and Chris Jones (their actual MVP) isn't the same. You also have other formidable teams in the AFC, it isnt so top-heavy anymore. And I don't believe Mahomes is as gifted as a QB to carry a team the same way Allen can, or even a healthy Jackson. While they can make the playoffs.... Kansas City isnt going to run through the AFC having to try in week 18, and them play on the road in weeks 19, 20, and 21 against better teams. Indy would have to go 3-1 which won’t happen putting it all on the chargers kc has the tiebreaker over Baltimore also and Miami has one more conference loss. It doesn’t look like it but it’s almost entirely in the chiefs control still. The most unlikely thing they need is them winning out (which we did fairly recently in a pretty similar scenario) ooh extra wrinkle…chiefs need chargers to lose to broncos too who might be resting starters depending on the 1 seed situation. That’s a pretty big one. Chargers win that one and they’ve got the division record tiebreaker with kc Edited 47 minutes ago by Generic_Bills_Fan 1 Quote

They are the single biggest reason the Bills and our first-ballot HOF QB don't have at least one Super Bowl ring by now, if not multiple. I hoped for this last season, but you never know. But now we see it. Kelce, once an unstoppable force and a first-down machine, is now 36, a role player, and very stoppable. Chris Jones, still makes plays, but is no longer an unblockable terror up the middle. He's good but no longer consistently great. I'm not saying the Chiefs can't be good or make the playoffs in the next year or two. But the dynasty is over. They are no longer favorites to win it all every year. They will battle for the playoffs now. The 90s Bills are happy (that record run of four-straight SB appearances record should stay intact), the current Bills are happy, and we should be too. I dont see it as over, I see it as everything cycles. They had their time, now they need to make changes and do a mini rebuild. As much as I hate to say it, as long as they have Kermit and the Walrus, they will always be a threat. Quote

JakeFrommStateFarm Posted 44 minutes ago Posted 44 minutes ago I'm still worried kc could speak into the playoffs and go one one of their patented playoff runs. Still too early for threads like this Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted 44 minutes ago Posted 44 minutes ago They likely aren't making a deep run this year. But to say it's "over" is a bit of hogwash. They could retool and be back next year stronger than ever. Next year will tell the tale better. Is this their new normal or just a blip season...much like the Bills appear to be having this year? I give them a 10% chance of winning out, but crazier things have happened. They need to beat New England. That’s all i really care about. Edited 40 minutes ago by ChronicAndKnuckles Quote

This reminds me of the 10 or so consecutive years when people kept saying the Patriots/Brady were done. They weren’t even close to being done. Neither are the Chiefs. 1 Quote
