One key to this victory was Ty Johnson and our ability to covert short yardage with him.
 

Off the top of my head, he had a 3rd and short run conversion, two 3rd down pass conversions, and a 4th down run conversion. I might have missed some others.

I respect Heyward more than he's showing worthy here.

 

He and the rest of the Steelers D were looking to take shots at Allen at every opportunity, hitting him late, "finishing" tackles, and also flopping on Allen and laying on him. So then when Josh gets sick of it and gives them some back while they're laying on him for an extended time, they act like this?

Bills ran 51 times for 249 yards and no sack of Josh Allen. Dion Dawkins can be benched the rest of the season.

There are still significant issues with this offenses ability to pass the ball, and it is an issue at many levels, including the coordinator, skill positions, up front and yes the QB too. 
 

I am hopeful they have another switch to flip but at 6/12 in the first half with 50 yards and a 4.2 yards per attempt, we were lucky the defense took this game over. Another less than 20 point showing from the offense. The game played out well into their schematic advantage in the second half but they will not be so lucky every game. 
 

Edit: the zero sacks stat is misleading IMO. The quick passing game and very low ADOT along with the fact Allen was routinely ducking pass rushers was huge in this stats, along with Brady’s heavy run game imo 
 

I would caution everyone to pump the breaks a bit

Agreed. The passing offense has to get better. That said, I hope this is more their identity going forward. Run and play action. More 2-RB sets. We can’t be running all these 4-receiver spread sets with that group of jokers.

Yeah I think that's fair. The Bills have shown they can win when their preferred game script goes well. When we can impose our will running the ball and eventually make the opposing offense one dimensional, those are the games we win by 20+. Of course you can't always expect that game script to work out. When we've been in situations where we had no choice but to pass the ball this year we have been mostly unsuccessful, and the vast majority of fault for that lies with Beane and his failures to seriously address the WR room. It is hard to envision us winning 4 playoff games in a row with such a glaring weakness but we'll get there and see what happens.

He was probably pissed off because they were beating the snot out of them with the same sets and calls all day long and they couldn't do anything about it.

The wind at field level was a factor for the QBs.

You are kidding right? We were missing Palmer, Kincaid, Samuel, 2 starting offensive tackles and McGovern was playing with 1 arm. 

 

We were playing a very good defensive front. 

 

Brady called a great game, and I’ve been on the fire Brady train for a while now.

 

You really want Josh to hang onto the ball for over 3 seconds with 2 backup OTs? Who’s he going to throw to? Cooks who’s been here for 3 days? Coleman whose first move is to Velcro himself to the DB as soon as the ball is hiked? Shakir, who doesn’t run more than 5 yards past the LOS?

 

Enjoy the W. Yes, we need an intermediate and downfield passing game. This wasn’t the team to try that against given our limitations and their style

I think he'd be frustrated in that post game no matter what the questions were about. It was an incredibly frustrating game for the Pitt DL and that is usually their stable strong point.

 

The Josh stuff just seems blown up in the moment of that 10 second clip.

 

Cam did clarify it was just that one incident, and even kinda told on himself when he said Josh admitted it by saying "I had to get you off me some way". Like, dude, why are you still laying on him to the point he has to knee you off?

Yes, today we could @RunTheBall and should enjoy the W. 
 

But I am serious, that the concerns of the passing offense, despite not being needed today, are a consistent limitation that we’ve seen over and over all season. 
 

It has little to do with the injuries today, or the match up and the play calling in how they tried to beat Pitt. How could you argue that? 
 

However, today the running game masked this major issue, and it was good enough to beat the Steelers and keep us well in the hunt for the WC. It does not however instill confidence in their ability to hang with or defeat more capable teams.

Yes. That doesn’t happen often. Where a team just repeats plays successfully. NFL that never works in NFL but it did today.

I would hate to be a steeler fan. That is a bad football team with not a lot to look forward to. They are stuck in the forever 9-8 football.
