I never enjoy injuries but karma was dealt to Queen today. The play immediately following his unflagged late hit on Josh, he injures his hip with zero contact.

I can’t give enough love to Shavers and his run blocking. Dude is just a dog. Even on inside runs you watch the replay and he’s in there moving safeties out of the way on a consistent basis. Every game I love this guy more.

I’ve been hammering Brady for weeks and still want him fired but I have to give him credit when it’s due - this game plan made sense. He ran the sht out of the ball and didn’t get away from it, he chipped both DEs almost every pass play, he threw to the RBs and TEs, he got rid of the mesh crap that he spams constantly. That was a reasonable, understandable game plan given how many injuries we had on offense. It was good to see,

 

James Cook should be in contention for OPOY but he’s got Taylor ahead of him. It is a pleasure to watch this guy run, he’s sooooo smooth. At least Beane made one good re signing.

 

Josh was much more decisive today in both running and throwing. I LOVED the jawing with Heyward, Josh needs to get the fire back. The pick to Gabe sucked, shocker. But I didn’t see the hesitation he’s had the last 4-5 games. Good to see.

 

Don’t downplay this win. The Bills might have found their mojo. They out bullied the Steelers IN PITTSBURGH, humiliated their defense and ran the ball down their throats with 2 BACKUP tackles. This needs to be their MO moving forward with some intermediate and deep passing added. I understand why they didn’t do that today.

 

Crushing Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh is a big deal. Now beat the hell out of Burrow because we owe Cinci a lot after they’ve owned us for years.

Cook involved in the passing game is so important for this offense, for so many reasons (including “when Cook is in the game, we run; when Ty is in the game we pass”). 
 

His speed is weapon that this passing game lacks, and it creates a lot of mismatches. Seems obvious.

They have been grooming those OTs for a while and still have VPG getting ready to step up in the middle at some point, and Grabel who was recently activated off of IR that looked like he was very promising at RT.

I don't envision a WR trade involving OL players, but acknowledge that the Bills need a true X receiver at the boundary that is difficult to cover one on one.

For some reason I just don't see them pursuing one via the draft at least not very early with how thin the class is and how long it takes to get a WR up to NFL speed - more likely they will keep looking for FAs that have the upside or are proven commodities if they can free up the cap for it.

We will see, but I think this year's draft is more loaded with quality LBs (size, speed, instinctual hitting gaps and tackling)  and we happen to be thin and undersized at the position with Milano likely not being brought back next season. I have to think they need to really evaluate how they have been using Bernard at ML especially vs the run (it looks like Shaq was playing ML this game and we can see it works better so maybe McD and Babich are thinking the same thing). I don't think ML is a good fit for Bernard's size and skill set and using him there they keep breaking him.

Agree 100% Passing to the RBs can provide huge mismatches!

Loved the swing pass today that almost went for a TD. You could see the timing of it and Josh placed it perfectly without even really looking.

Hate to say “I told you so,” but I called for this exact gameplan against Houston.  We wouldn’t have had the same success as today, but it was the obvious recipe to win and neutralize an aggressive D.

It’s not just Cook, they desperately need to get the ball to all the RBs in the passing game. They have advantages there over most teams. All 3 guys are legit weapons out of the backfield.
