Odd, because the Rams not only won the Super Bowl but theyre also closer to a 2nd Super Bowl than we are to our first.

Agree with your post but may not be Josh's decision alone. Know he's got a wife too who I'm sure would push for LA where she can further her career than here in Buffalo.

I was just looking at their drafts, yes he's traded a lot of firsts.   2 1s for Goff, 2 1s for Stafford, 2 1s for Jalen Ramsey.   But boy he is a fan of having a lot of picks despite the 1s hes traded.  2024 10 picks, 2023 14 picks, 2022 8 picks, 2021 9 picks.  If you look at the games played by these picks, its a lot.  Probably why they are in a good cap situation.   A lot of guys on cheap rookie contracts.

 

The trade he made with Atlanta, moving out of the first, got him a 2nd and a 7th last year, and the 2026 first round pick, he moved up how many spots.  Currently the 26th pick in the first round of the 25 draft he turned in the 11th pick in 26 draft and he got picks in return, not giving up picks.

To be fair, it more often than not does implode.  There are not many examples of it working and resulting in a Lombardi trophy, but lots of examples of if not working or even becoming a long term disaster.  And it looked like it was headed for an implosion in LA too, but they were able to make some moves and hit on some picks that changed that course pretty fast. 

 

Bills are one of those teams that better be trying to go all in this offseason if we don't get there this year.  This team has been too close, go get the difference makers, and get it done.

I would fine out who on the Rams could come in here and fix our offense. Obviously, the wouldn’t come to be an OC, but a HC. I would give the DC free rein to install whatever defense they want. Preferably a very stingy one.

Disagree but that’s down to personal preference. I can see someone making the argument for Seattle and it not being wrong. 
 

I will say, it is a divisional game and for some reason when LA went up 14-3 then 14-6 they barely ran the football from that 2nd quarter onward. In fact, all their drives from the 2nd quarter onward were all 5 plays or less… 

 

Bear in mind too their first drive was inside the opponents 10 yard line and the failed to convert a 4th & 1.

There's definitely something to the pressure of "never having won" in sports that gets to players and probably coaches too.

 

Get one early and then it's all gravy. You did it, and no matter what happens you'll always be a SB champion. That goes a long way toward loosening your team up in future title games. 

 

When you go somewhere that wants a title so badly and you hear it all the time and you as a player start to really feel that it can be good but also can be a detriment.

An argument could be made that they have the best GM in the league. Philly could argue that. NO argument they have the best HC at this time.

The goal for every GM should be a relentless pursuit of TALENT, regardless of how it's done.  Draft, Free Agency, Trades, etc.  

Les Snead succeeded in thinking outside the box, realizing that high draft picks were significantly overvalued around the league.  Rookies are hit/miss, and take time to develop.  Vets cost more, but it's easier to tell what they will bring.

 

Of course, the other piece was excellent drafting in the middle/late rounds.  You can easily trade away early picks IF you are hitting strong on Day 3.  He was able to get a superstar WR (Puka Nacua) in the 5th Round, while Beane is totally lost at the position 20-25 picks in.

Brandon Beanes mentor Dave Gettleman said "Hurt guys get hurt". Maybe he should have listened a bit more to his mentor vs assuming he can defy the laws of cheap NFL labor. Our roster is littered with players that have an injury history and we have no aversion to extending these players or slotting them as starters with no considerable depth options.

 

Bernard, Benford, Bosa, Rapp, Milano, Jones, White, Taron Johnson. It's practically the entire defense and extends multiple years for many of these guys. So is our luck really that bad or is our roster building that impractical? Should we assume we got a "deal" or should we assume we actually got the going rate because other teams properly value this?
